Damon Borich, Owner & Founder of Texas Power Paddle, is an avid outdoorsmen, inventor and kayak fisherman. After many trips down Texas lakes, rivers and the coast to kayak fish where he was battling wind, tide, current and the Texas sun he decided there had to be a better way to enjoy the sport with his wife and kids and friends. That’s when he began inventing the Texas Power Paddle to provide “paddle assistance”, much like an electric bike pedal assist mechanism, to a wide variety of kayaks. Whether you utilize the power paddle for a relaxing kayak site seeing trip with your spouse or for getting out further on large lakes, bays, and coastal hotspots the Texas Power Paddle will give you the confidence to push a little further and get to where the action is.
The patented Texas Power Paddle© propulsion system comes with everything you need to transform your Kayak into an electric assisted workhorse. The full system includes the waterproof case with drive control system, a handheld proportional throttle control, and the propulsion system that is compatible with your kayak.
Deploys and retracts on-demand making launch, storage, and use a breeze.
Electric propulsion system can be used with pedal drives for greater speed, range, and efficiency.
Handheld size motor and impeller take you to the shallowest fishable water possible-extends only 5 inches below the bottom of your kayak.
Multiple mounting options for a wide variety of kayaks.

Custom rudder for the oldtown 120 would be awesome
New user of the TPP for Hobie Compass (Rudder-Based Motor). First use was on Grand Traverse Bay off Lake Michigan. A very calm day with varying 5-10mph winds. My unit lasted about 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 hours, on full throttle as I assisted propulsion with the pedals. I was not satisfied with under two hours, so I contacted TPP and their only solution for battery capacity increase was to buy a second unit. At the cost, I declined. I'm voiding the warranty, adding another Clinko power input plug and a three-position battery selector switch (Battery A - Off - Battery B) to the control case. Next I'm adding a 12V Lithium Marine battery with 100 AH rating, so I should be able to run for up to six hours at full throttle. For what it is worth, the base unit seems capable of sustaining 3mph (no pedal) against a mild headwind, 4mph with no headwind and between 4-6mph with heavy pedal assist.
which product would be for my NATIVE TITAN 10.5 thank
Any products yet for the Hobie Lynx?
I think I recognize that Revo!!!
Reel Yakkers don’t play!
Do any of the models work on an Old Town Salty?
I believe I may put this on the rudder of my new Slayer
You won’t regret it. 😉
@@ACKTVnetwork I bet I won't! Need it to get me set for tournaments
Can I use my current battery
Send to Brazil?
My Bonafide RS117 is the perfect kayak for what I do on the water. Adding TPP would be phenomenal. In absence of a rudder feature, is there a way to make it work?
Unfortunately, there is nothing from TPP that would allow this... yet. You will probably need a rudder to use any type of motor efficiently. You can use the paddle as your steering method, but that will take up both your hands in the process.
Bonafide does have the Top Run Rudder for the RS. This would allow you to steer the kayak with your foot pegs, keep your hands free and attach a TPP.
How much thrust does it have? None of the promo videos ever touch on that. Is it saltwater friendly
We’ve been using for a year so far off east coast with no salt problem (yet).
Which one of these would be best for my Big Fish 108?
The Mako System would be best but you would need to have a rudder installed for this one to work.

I own a Three Waters Big Fish 108. Would this system work on my kayak. Thank you
If you have the rudder kit on the Big Fish it could Mount directly to the rudder. I like the motor mounted in the rear as it allows you to turn on a dime.
REMORA for saltwater?
Will the rudder drive interfere with my Big Fish pedal drive while in the water?
Not at all. In fact, running the rudder motor with the pedal drive will give you more speed!
I live in Alabama, are they any places that installs your products.
These kits are super easy to install and would only take 5-15 minutes. They have some videos on their site going over the install process. Our closest shop to you would be in Houston.
You list there is room for wallet, keys, etc. Is that room inside the waterproof box?
Yes, there is room above the battery panel/lcd screen and the top lid of the case.
Why would you need music playing during this presentation? Otherwise, great product idea!
Will this work with Old Town Topwater
Yes it would! You would just need the rudder kit installed so you can Mount the TPP. It would connect to the foot pegs which would allow you to steer the boat with your feet while you fish
Could you stick the Mako on a paddle board fin?
I bet you could but being that SUP rudders are usually fixed you would need to make sure you have a clear straight path front of you
@@MakzFishin You paddle turn off the bow when using a power drive on a SUP.
I was more curious if the mount would actually fit with the bolt holes not overhanging, because paddle board fins are curved and not flat like rudders.
I think you are right about the curve interfering. I would think it might not be hard to the tip off of a fin so you could have a straight edge to Mount to the motor. Maybe have two fins, one for paddling and one for the motor so you could easily interchange them
Cut off the tip*
How fast fully geared?
Depending on your kayak, it can get up to around 4.5. I was in an old town autopilot with a minnkota trolling motor on full speed (3.5mph) getting left by my buddy on a outback with the TPP motor. He would have to throttle down every so often to let me catch back up
Does the battery bank float???
I’ll check and get back to you on that. My first thought is yes it does but I want to confirm.
I confirmed with TPP and yes the box will float if the latches are secured close.
Awesome... Was looking at a different product, but being this is made in TX makes it 200 times better!!!!
does it have a reverse
It does not have a reverse on their current models.
*Cough* Bixby
Isn’t the boxpy lighter and cheaper. I am not from Texas I don’t care if it’s made there maybe do make it in China so it doesn’t have to cost so much. Haily can still do the presentation
This will weigh less than the Bixpy and the bixpy is less expensive. The bixpy will be a little bulkier of a setup as these Mount flush or to the rudder.
Way too pricey....
Was not very good presentation at all very confusing to people
Did you have any other questions over their system that I might be able to answer for you?
Do you guys make it where the battery can be extended or able to add another battery for additional usage?
I thought it was a great presentation
