This track highlights that the Spice Girls were NOT the first group to embrace the concept of; 'Girl Power'. Mint Juleps were a London UK 'cappella' all girl group, who, with the production might of Trevor Horn behind them, released this track called 'Girl to the Power of 6'. in 1987. The format of the song, whilst having an obvious '80's' sound, had a similar format to the Spice Girl's 'Wannabe', where each girl presented a distinct personality trait. The phrases 'Girl to the Power' and 'Girl Power' are mentioned several times, as well as strong overtones of female empowerment, unity and loyalty. It was not until the emergence of the Spice Girls in 1996 with Wannabe (over 9 years after Mint Juleps), that the concept of 'Girl power' exploded onto the common consciousness.
~Love them - they should be huge. Multi-talented.
Real Girl Power!
Good band

At 2:46 are they saying "girl power"?
I don't hear it at 2:46 exactly but they say Girl Power, Girl Talk, or just Girl slowed down throughout the song
human_ “the power in me”
