This has been the hidden secret to many videographers to get crispy music videos we see on youtube and every where all the time. I can tell you, no matter how much i tried to nail focus/exposure with my gh5 shooting 24fps keep changing color profile, V-log, Cinelike d, Natural, you name it. Yet wont be able to achieve cinematic video i see many brag about.. many on youtube wont tell you the truth. Thank you so much buddy for this amaizing video.
Thank you sir. This is exactly what I came here to understand. I figured they just did as you said and played the song at a higher speed while filming, but I just found the idea of that filming session to be a bit silly. Thank you for confirming my suspicions tho, and also for giving me a great speed to start off with. Stay safe ✌️† 🎥
Mind blown because I kept thinking I was crazy and just couldn’t do it. Now I know it’s because I don’t speed the audio up but try to slow the video down. 😂
Great video and tutorial! I am a singer/songwriter trying to film first video with Canon eos m. I am rookie in this. How to lip sync normal music video? Do I need to use clipboard? I assume thats how later in post-production you are syncing music?
Logically-If i speed up my track to double while filming- doesn't that mean I can only shoot at 50fps and bring it back to 25fps on the edit for the lip sync to occur? In other words- the frame rate will depend on how fast I ramp up the track right? Or does that not matter? What if i want an even more slow motion feel like around 100 FPS- but can only speed up the track by double? Will that work?
Yeah essentially the faster you speed up the track, the slower you can make it in post. I’m not 100% sure on the math, but that does seem to make sense.
I know we all want that 24p movie look but anything slow motion looks cinematic. so theoretically you can shoot at 60p and render in 30p and it will still look cinematic.
So if I wanted to shoot 120fps for the entire video and have it ultra slow. What would be audio percent and the speed percent once footage is back in premiere
Depends on your target frame rate for the final render. If you're targeting 60fps it means you would need to speed up the music by 2x the original speed. If 30fps is your target and you're shooting at 120fps, then music needs to be sped up 4x original speed. I wouldn't really go more than 2x for lip sync purposes, but you can shoot any other footage in any slow motion you want, depending on how you want movements to sync to the music. What ever your target frame rate, you want the shooting frame rate to be in multiples of either 1.5, 2, 2.5 etc, but you want either .5 or .0 otherwise you run into things like drift in the sync and it takes alot of fiddling to adjust. You may also run into issues with 30 and 60fps since they typically shoot at 29.97 and 59.94 respectively instead of a stable whole frame. For a more cinematic quality, I would shoot at multiple of 24fps, so 48fps and 96fps would be ideal for slow motion. 120fps scaled back to 24fps would be 5 times slower than the original motion, which could work in certain instances.
Yeah there is -- So we initially sped it up to 130%, and the calculation for that is 100 * 1.3 = 130% then we need to slow it down by the same amount so we need to find what 130 * ? = 100 So to do that we take 100 and divide it by 130 = 77% In other words to make 130% speed go back to 100 (normal speed), we need to slow it down to 77%... hope that makes sense
So if you're shooting at 24fps, times it by 1.25x to get 30fps. Then you speed the track up by 1.25x, record at 30fps, and slow it down to 24fps in post. Or shoot in 48fps and speed up the track by 2.0x, then slow to 24fps. Etc
You need to make sure to speed up the song first before you shoot... with 60fps you can slow your footage down to 50%, so I think you could theoretically speed up your song to 200% (200*50% = 100% again), but that might be too fast for your artists? depends on their ability and the speed of the song... hope that helps

we need this kind of short videos rather than long explanation....it is just the logic...
i do not why creators are making the video so long
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Straight to the point. Thanks! I've always wondered how this worked.

Thank you! Glad the video helped! And yes, definitely a fun... and interesting time shooting it
Wow insane cant wait to try this! Thanks 💯
To the point tutorial no bullshit ...... Hats off man👍👍👍
Thank you!!

1st video in 10 I've to explain this , tk you, all the bull**** some go on with on this platform.
Thank you!
Great video dude 👊🏼

Thanks Julie!!
DOOD!!! Awesome... thank you!
Thank you
Thank You sir! ❤
thanks mate!!!!!!!
Thank you for this video. I was curious as to how it was done.
Glad it helped!
You’re the best- N8V📈✅🔜
Thank you!!!
Just confirmed my assumptions, thank you very much.
If I want to speed up by 150? How much to slow down in post-production?
24 fps shooting with specific frsme rate 36 fps on BMPCC
thank you charliee
But how if I don’t have all these programas and software?
Epic video 🤍
Thank you!

not working in premiere pro synchronize section :/

Why 77? Is there any specific calculation formula to get the exact number?
Yeah there is -- So we initially sped it up to 130%, and the calculation for that is 100 * 1.3 = 130% then we need to slow it down by the same amount so we need to find what 130 * ? = 100
So to do that we take 100 and divide it by 130 = 77%
In other words to make 130% speed go back to 100 (normal speed), we need to slow it down to 77%... hope that makes sense
So if you're shooting at 24fps, times it by 1.25x to get 30fps. Then you speed the track up by 1.25x, record at 30fps, and slow it down to 24fps in post. Or shoot in 48fps and speed up the track by 2.0x, then slow to 24fps. Etc
So even before recording you have to speed it up and have the artist sing it. then it'll be slowed down?
Yes, exactly
Just have the question. If I shoot in 60fps how it works?
You need to make sure to speed up the song first before you shoot... with 60fps you can slow your footage down to 50%, so I think you could theoretically speed up your song to 200% (200*50% = 100% again), but that might be too fast for your artists? depends on their ability and the speed of the song... hope that helps
Yes I know, I was talking about speeding up the audio at 130%
@@gilreymundi Try slowing it down to 76.9%
Just curious.. what camera did you use that shoots at 50fps... mine shoots at 24/60/120 fps
@@TomeiWrote-it it was the black magic 6K pro
I have to study some mathmatics before doing it!
One of the most essential and important videos within a surprising short window of time, dont ever change. 🫰🏻🙏🏼💎
Lol, now I understand 😂, cheers so much, from a complete idiot 😂😊❤
Hey, what were your fps settings of the sequence? the default or 50 fps
hey, for the sequence in premiere pro, i edited on a 24fps timeline
wah so coo
Thanks G
i wonder why you need to slow it down to 77%...i thought 100% should be the "original"?
Because the video wasn’t sped up. Only the music used to record was.
