They not only used everything they've learned, they've refined them. Having a visual tracker and seeing your social stats level up as you do activities is a god send, also having them level up quicker if the demo is anything to go by. 2 points of wisdom, it moves up 2 ticks in the graph. Also tying more interactive activities into the social stats so you don't do passive activities like read a book to get the most benefit. Did a quest to get some wisdom, then sat on a bench, allowed wisdom to hit level 2. Quick easy, trackable and interactive. Btw, if the info broker tells you don't use a specific class against an enemy, DO NOT, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT use that class, I had to test the waters and I got absolutely wrecked by some goblins not liking the site of my staff. Goons pulled some spells way beyond my pay grade out their ass all of a sudden.
Yeah there's a bunch of little tweaks like the ones you listed that are REALLY nice or at least have a ton of cool potential. I like being able to prepare for upcoming challenges. I like the fact I'm no longer guessing how long until I rank up a social stat, its great imo
I feel like people calling this game "fantasy persona" will be a curse that will follow this game until the end of times. This game deserves better attitude...
I think them doing the demo was the smartest move they could have done, it's a really good chunk to get people who were kind of curious about it a reason to try. It feels familiar enough if you like Atlus games previously, story and characters are rock solid, art and music are beautiful, and gameplay really fun. I imagine it will do well
To your comment about the racism at the end: I don't want it to mellow out. 100s of years of racism in this fantasy world don't change in a month just because your MC does a few good deeds. And I cannot say for a fact but I can imagine that in the real world racism also doesn't just mellow out at the snap of a finger, this is clearly a message the game wants to hammer in. With a sledgehammer.
If the first step of wisdom was anything to go off of, hopefully they don't take too long. Wisdom just took sitting on a bench once, and completing one side quest and it got to rank 2 for me
@@JMulls yeah, but ranks have always taken longer the higher you get. At least this game gives you a meter so you can tell how close you are to a stat lvl up.
On one hand it was really weird how despite Elda being super rare, everyone immediately recognizes you as one, but on the other hand it seems races are differentiated by Ears, Horns, Tails, Wings or whatever you got....and well, you not having any of that DOES make you stand out I guess. Well played
This game seems like the the best bits of persona and megaten with a fantasy setting. From just playing reload where the combat was pretty easy, repetitive and pretty boring, metaphor (so far) has balanced the combat much better and made it less repetitive and more nuanced. For example the synthesis takes up 2 turns and isn’t op and you can’t spam weaknesses because if the enemy is charged it’s probably better to block. I pray they don’t add the ability to change archetypes mid combat because then it will be persona all over again
This game is a blend of SMT and Persona. Mostly SMT. The whole combat mechanics you explained is exactly how SMT does. I’d make the argument that it’s SMT with Persona’s life sim and party members
No Romance, not buying. I played Persona 5 which was the first of the series for me because I could have a tiny little romance with Sadayo Kawakami. Maybe after 5 or 6 years, I will buy it.
Yeah we are told the monsters are different then the main mission lolpeople said go there first day to the boss. Then do the mission before the demo ends. Them finish the side dungeon
Honestly I would rather say it is more of a "personafied" SMT game, as the themes better relate more to that series, plus the battle system is returning to the (i believe it is called) press turn system that has been the standard for SMT games for a really long time. Plus the battle theme is strikingly similar to the battle theme for SMT strange journey (written by same composer so duh there).
This game is the culmination of everything Atlus has done thus far.
Great way to put it imo. It's them trying something new while using what already works as a base
They not only used everything they've learned, they've refined them.

It IS "fantasy persona" though...

It's SMT/DDS with Persona mechanics, I like it alot and I hope it sells well.

The demo was honestly so much more better than I expected....but I'm not looking forward to Lvling up stats again.

Bro you literally described the press turn system from SMT when going over the combat

Yea showning a Persona bias since this is exactly how it works in SMT V
Exactly lol

Oh I love the human enemies. Reminds me of near story design and .ix with attack on titan lol
The fact the the 1st human enemy has an apple theme is genius
Not sure if I want to do the 3 days because usually you do the dungeon on the last possible day lol
I was not aware of that!
That's incredible, I know I probably could've beaten the dragon had I had enough MP
Can’t say it’s fantasy persona when we played probably less than 10 percent of the actual game 😉
