I miss my boy Ryuji but it is a fantastic game. The combat issue is the only minor flaw, and like I said, it won't be an issue for some, it will be frustrating and tedious for others, that's the only issue, everything else is stunning. Thanks for the comment btw!
I wish they put "a midlife crisis lasanha 9.5/10" as a quote on their trailers! 18:52 also, the game is about anxiety, gotta learn how to deal with just waiting sometimes, you're rarely in control of anything, specially in a video game where you have the illusion of control. Its a Meta(phor) game anyway!
Haha glad you liked the line :) Yeah that is a valid point. Waiting builds tension, anxiety, doubt. All themes that are used elsewhere in the game. Good point :)
@lormingo5259 I actually felt the other way. I felt 5 hooks you at the start by dropping you in to action and then slows down to set up the story. While this doesn't drop you in to the action BUT, depending on how much of the lore in the menus you read and the npcs you talk to, you can get to the "start" sooner. I tend to read everything though. It's like a Roller Coaster. P5 started you mid drop. Omg what's happening, then there's another slow build up. This just has you start at the beginning of the right and climb right away.
Almost maxed out on the demo, coming up on 20hrs played, all archs maxed, currently at 60+ Hero's Leaf of Light, level 30 on all 3 characters. In the words of Peter Griffin "I'm so fucking ready!"
Getting your time out of that demo! 60+ Hero's leaf is going to help you, but not as much as you think. However it's easy enough to get more as there's a few key farming spots you can find, plus the difficulty you're on affects your XP.
@criticalinspiration2442 So I'll say if you don't want to know this info, stop reading now. There's a few ways that you can "farm" in dungeons. One is that if you hit a save point or a loading screen, it'll respawn most enemies in a dungeon (Certain ones don't respawn after being killed), you can use this to refill MP easily. BUT, the main XP farm method, is find a "flower" enemy, they spawn minions from them infinitely as long as you don't kill the flower. You can then just sit close to it but not too close. A mage arch works well for this so you don't move and aoe spam. It farms XP (slowly dropping as you get higher level). Once a class is mastered, it will then continue to gain XP, when it gains 1k XP, it'll give you an item you can use on another Arch that gives it 1k XP. Don't stand too close to the "flower" or your allies will attack it occasionally. If it drops low on HP, don't kill it, go save and come back it'll be full health again. There's places in the game you can find 2 flowers next to each other for even faster farming.
I've been enjoying it so much and I really like the gameplay, where I feel Persona is a slog in the turn based combat. My favorite JRPG so far (around 20 hours in).
Persona 5 has a hook but then drop. I mentioned in another comment it’s like starting a rollercoaster halfway down the drop. You’re meant to react with “omg what’s happening”. The issue is after that initial drop it’s a slow climb back up. Metaphor starts at the beginning of the ride. It’s a slow climb but it takes less time to get going proper than Persona 5. You’re given more of the story a bit earlier in Metaphor. I don’t mention it as a negative, just as a warning as some people don’t like that slower period, but I think it’s needed in a game of this length.
It's all good, I didn't think it was don't worry :) I just know it's a talking point these days so had to mention it in our review, and also feel it's a bit weird given it's not that bad compared to others like you've said :)
It would be the Story Trailer :) It actually contains more spoilers than the rest of the video combined 😆 And I was tempted to cut parts of it out. But I try to always include a trailer in our reviews to help give an introduction and help see a bit more of the game :) Thank you for the comment!
I brought the game just waiting...i even playing thru soul hackers 2..what can i say i like their games..im get smt5 v on xsx ...next ..n im playing p3 reloaded on gamepass..im stop once i get my hands on this n focus pn this.
Thank you for the spoiler free review. I love Persona and am really hyped for this game!
The answer is yes, it is better than Persona. And I'm a longtime Persona and SMT fan.

Darkplace reference? Auto like and subbed, you sir are a man of culture
Glad you like the review. I couldn’t resist the Darkplace reference it felt a perfect addition!
I love this game ❤.
It's way better than Persona
Agreed but I've stayed away solely on high schoolers being the focus. The art is... beyond amazing
I agree simply because the beginning of persona games are soooo slow ! This game tells the story well n put you right in the action !
I like both

I want to disagree with you, but it's hard to disagree with you because you're right

@@LT3 hear ya, just wasting time till the game drops, going to be a blast cant wait!
How do you do this? You only get 3 days on the demo.

Atlus games ive played ranked
Metaphor
SMTVV, Persona 3 Reload
SMT Nocturne
Persona 4 Golden/Persona 3 Portable
Persona 5 Royal
Royal at the bottom? You didn’t enjoy it?

3 more days!
It's worth the wait! And you can jump in to the demo now, and carry your progress over
Whenever people say it has a slow start all I'm thinking is persona 4... Persona 5 is a pretty dull start. Seems pretty standard for their games

excellent review
Glad you liked it! :)
GOTY!
I think we'll see it on a lot of lists tbh, and it deserves it
Great Review. Cannot wait for the full game. Loved the demo too and glad atlus gave us that.
Hope you enjoy the game, and thanks for the comment!
I will play the demo after this for sure. Just need to find a bit of time. :D
Do I need to have played Meta 1 to 3 before understanding this game?
No but you need to have played, and understood the story of Kingdom Hearts... Like, did you know... Kingdom Hearts is actually light? *Mind Blown*
Can't wait!!
Not long left!
20 minutes left baby >:)
Hope you’re enjoying it!
Thank you so much
You're welcome!
I can't wait
Thanks jimmy jr.

SMT5 is fantastic, bought it on the Switch when it came out and loved it. PS3R is a good choice as well! I hope you enjoy Metaphor!
Is there at least some romance? Maybe in the main story?
Persona style, bonds and friendships, rather than Mass Effect style of 'Playin and Layin'
@@LT3 But is there? Romance i mean. Kinda of a bummer for me if there isnt any....
@@kingdrakart7351no, only friendship
