So so nice to c u back on the fish most people don't understand the best fishing is on its way and it looks like the reds are showing up early this year coastal fishing in the fall and winter omg is the best
When you’re painting the inside of your boat don’t spend a lot of money on epoxy paint you can use the rustoleum paint you buy at Lowe’s but that’s only for the inside of the boat where you’re not gonna have constant contact with the water
I read that TK Stubs was retiring from his TKF web site. Nice to hear that some one is going to carry on. Been a member since 2008 have strayed at times due to time constraints but always came back. 12pdtest
I do a lot of fishing out of flower bluff too. The Lighthouse Lakes in Port A are a nice change. It's neat fishing a marshy area. Thanks for the comment!
I just got a kayak (outlaw 11.5) and been wanting to try out that spot man. The only thing that is holding me back is that channel lol how long do does it take to cross it in decent condition?
Man, I hear you! In decent conditions you can cross it in about 30 seconds. The early morning is easy, but things pick up late morning and early afternoon.
Great video! Light House Lakes is one of my favorites places to visit & fish! Although, crossing the boat channel is like playing frogger during the weekends! What size weight is your fly reel set up?
Thanks man, I appreciate it! I really enjoy fishing Lighthouse Lakes. It's a little different out there now that all of the mangroves are dead. I sure hope they come back! My fly rod is an 8 weight. I'm thinking about going down to a 6 weight though.
@@adamfuentes3761 Oh man, I'm having a hard time remembering exactly what I have on there. But it is something similar to this www.tridentflyfishing.com/rio-redfish-seatrout-tapered-leader.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw3_KIBhA2EiwAaAAlinnBhymFkm5JTO3BN571sAMI4QydOKNccUSoMEovirmqc-XSSo1QUhoC0aYQAvD_BwE I would go with a 15 to 20 pound leader.
Wow that was great! U tore them up! I agree a smaller red on the fly is much more exciting! We did pretty good last week bank fishing from packery channel. 5 keepers. Keep it up.
Wow! That sounds like an awesome day! I was really hoping to get one more keeper and hit my limit. I'm fairly certain that the one I lost was a keeper. The Redfish seem to be active right now!
What a great day of fishing! Not that there are really any bad days of fishing! I can't wait to give it a shot this weekend. 4 more days, but who's counting? Another well done video! The pics from the early days were great. I remember taking you down to Fort Worth to pick up that little green kayak. Who would have known where that would take you?
It was a really fun morning! I'm thinking we might want to try it out there again this weekend. I thought you might like seeing those older pictures. That little green kayak was a great starter!
Michael, that was a bale of a red! Is there any chance to shore fish the lighthouse area? Looks like I’ll be adding to my fleet, if not. Coming back down early next week. Great day
That was a fun morning! I'm thinking I'll be doing it again this Saturday. You can fish from the shore on the other side of the Aransas Channel. The coordinates are 27.870937315995782, -97.08829209489939 if you want to copy and paste them into google maps. But there is no way to access the shallow marsh area without a kayak or canoe.
Nice catch my friend. 👍
Thank you very much!
Atta boy. Flylivesmatter 👍
Haha! Your fly did the trick! I had a blast out there. I think I'll take my dad out there this weekend.
@@SchwindOutdoors how much longer on your skiff
I painted the hull over the weekend. I'm happy with how it turned out. I think 2 or 3 more weeks to finish it up!

I can't wait! Fall fishing can be great. It does seem like things might be turning on a little early this year.
Waiting to see that skiff on the water
I spent last weekend painting the hull. She's getting close!

@@homiedeehomiedee9963 I actually have enough of my topside paint left over to do the inside. On top of that I'm going to put down Marine Mat.
You can go to West Marina and get the marina paint called perfection that’s for the bottom the top side paint you can use anywhere above the waterline

I read that as well. He is passing it onto another member that has been around for a long time. Very happy to see that it will be continuing on.
Hitting light house in a couple days, psyching up!! Great vid
Hope your trip went well! Lighthouse Lakes has been great the last couple of times I've been there. Hoping all of the mangroves come back soon.
Great video! I usually just fish near flour bluff but looks like I'll have to make the trip out to port a!

Never had the chance to fish reds.... hopefully soon that will change!
Redfish are a lot of fun for sure! Where are you from?
I fly fish the lakes as well. Not as often as I like. Thank you for taking the time to post this video.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I had a great morning out there. I think I'll spend a little more time out there during the heat of the summer.
Can you get in there with a paddle board set up for fishing?
Yeah, that probably wouldn't be a problem!
Thank you for making my coffee break more enjoyable!
Anytime! Glad you enjoyed it!
