Me too! Then I get to where I can't even breathe. I can't swallow or anything. I naturally have asthma so when I freak out it even makes the asthma 10 times worse when I all I needed to do is calm down and focus on my breathing.
here is my technique please give it a go 1)Put on meditation music 2) Sit on floor back against a wall 3) loosen trouser button and all tight clothing/ take off scarf 4) Switch on a lava lamp or flameless candle 5) straighten legs out loosely in front of you 6) put one hand on heart and rest other hand on lap 7) either close eyes or stare blinking at the lamp/candle 8) Gently breath in as u rock back and breathe out when you rock fourth 9) keep repeating Step 8 until the attack ends 10) eat 5 pieces of fruit and drink warm milk 11) when the attack is over grab a hot water bottle and gently place over painful area DONT LET THE HOT WATER BOTTLE TOUCH YOUR BARE SKIN AS U WILL BE BURNT

I was in an online class and I had a little anxiety. The it started growing and growing until I was panicing and I could barely breathe. +Jodi Aman I want to see an ENT I haven't yet, I went to see my doctor 3 weeks ago, I told I think I have anxiety, and I was getting chest pains, dizziness non stop, and he checked my heart rate by hooking some type of machine that hooks up to my chest, and it prints out my heart rate, and he said there's nothing wrong with my heart rate, but he didn't look into my ears. How long does you're attacks last? Mines are up to 20 minutes, I get at least 4 per day,
+Jonny Q if you tell a doc you have anxiety they sometimes chalk your symptoms up to that. Tell them you have vertigo and go to an ENT, just to eliminate if that is it. Tell yourself they are over quick and that'll help you get through until your appointment.
I think that ur anemic! ( lack of iron in ur blood ) it's when your body doesn't have enough red blood cells to transport oxygen. Iron is what ur body uses to make them.
I have listened to 5 other videos on what to do when having a panic attack. I love this one the best because you speak calmly, gently and you include doing something creative. I love that idea!! It moves a person towards something positive instead of simply defending against something negative. Thank you!!
Recently I have been getting these horrible anxiety attacks that I have never gotten and this video actually reminded me that I use to listen to music and dance but I haven't done that in a long time and that was probably why I didn't get them this often thank you for reminding of something that helps
this is what helps me. i especially get attacks while i am driving. nice video here, but some of the stuff you say you can not do while driving. the main thing is to get your mind focused on something else besides the overwhelming panic. while driving, i looked at the pretty spring colors of flowers and bushes. i said out loud, "that is such a pretty color there." i looked for more nice colors. anxiety went away almost immediately. you can look at anything you choose. the cheery happy things are what you want.
i looked at your website. this is a good idea for helping people to drive without anxiety. much appreciated. i believe i have ptsd and i am getting anxiety from being hyper-vigilant when driving. the ptsd is getting better. no contact with narcissists is great!
I've been backpacking across Australia for a month now (from the US) having a great time and then I started having these every night. Now, also during the day. Ususlly places i went where id go before if i felt lonely are now triggers. Im still abroad right now and ive been trying not to self issolate but its difficult not knowing anyone. Listening to people's comments has made me feel a lot better knowing that I'm not alone and helped identify what I have. I finally buckled and went to a doctor here who gave me valium which has helped with sleeping. I have this fear that these feelings are going to take over or something and that I'll never get home. I just want to go home.

I was diagnosed with a panic disorder and a depressive disorder and along with therapy and lots of strength, what seriously helped me was vitamin d. I know it sounds like some sort of "facebook mom" advice, but for real, take a blood exam and check your vitamin D levels, it is life saving

I get panick attacks in planes, especially if I have to fly alone. Moving, singing, dancig and so on are not so easy in planes, do you have any tip when it comes to flying alone?
Things that help me (along with what's said in the video) - A hot shower, cold for the last few minutes or seconds - Playing Just Dance! - Meditation - Making myself cry with heartwarming videos - Scream loudly in an open space/pillow - Read a book or study - The 5 senses method: point out 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, 1 you can taste - [more to be added]
I had a panic attack there were a loud click infront of me and i was home alone and i had a massive panic attack. I was staring and i jist freezed. My heartbeat rised so much
i can’t do this anymore, there was a monsoon where i live and i had the worst panic attack. my heart was racing, i was breathing rapidly, and then i started crying. now i have a panic attack whenever it starts thundering, or when i see lighting, or when i see rain.
You can't move if an onset attack happens out of nowhere when you're driving. And I don't have a fear of driving but it's really strange that the few panic attacks that I have had all the sudden come on when I'm driving.

Idk if this was a panic attack but I am deathly afraid of throwing up and Ik people get carsick and I had a car ride this morning and I woke up feeling super sick shaking dry mouth couldn’t stop shaking and screaming and I can’t go to the car like it makes it worse so thank you this helped

I have panic attacks at work but I can’t afford to go home or even clock out to go take a nap or anything. it’s super stressful because i need my job and most of the time at work i’m by myself so i have nobody to talk to. it sucks. i’ve been crying every single day because i can’t afford therapy
I’m really tired of panic attacks I have them all the time several time in the day like man these thoughts as soon as I can’t breathe my my thoughts start racing and then my heart beats faster and I get even more panicky and then I’ve had panic attacks since I was about nine and then obviously I’ve done so many things to get away from it but I’m at the point where every distraction is a reminder of why I’m doing it which is my anxiety so it’s gotten tough to distract myself
I had panic attacks in school. I was and still am on medication for it, but the dosage wasn't enough. It got so bad that I am doing online school now. I cant imagine going back and sitting in a classroom ever again.

I've had anxiety for years and all I have been doing is taking meds to help, but your video has really helped me. I feel like I am in control of my life. I've distracted myself pretty well during an attack. I'm not as shaky after a panic attack. You really have helped me, thank you so much!
Also, a tip from me. During an attack, try to really believe that it's all in your head. Everyone does this, but really go through with it. Have a fan blowing on you too. I use to feel like this air was dirty and I had to sit by an air cleaner. So, sitting by a fan can help make you feel like your breathing in fresh air:)

my panic attack actually lessened but sometimes I still get them randomly I think Im just too stressed and now Im taking a break Im finally having panic attacks

@@doctorjodi Surprisingly well! I tried following your steps like, moving my body and it helped! I talked to some of my friends beforehand as well and managed to relax. My voice was shaky for the first few seconds but at least this time I didn't have a full on panic attack. I'm so proud of myself for not panicking! Thank you for the tips!
I get panic attacks in public like when I'm in the gas station the grocery store so on. I just end up shaking uncontrollably. The longer I'm in there the worse it gets. It makes me want to avoid going in stores. This only started a couple of months ago. Any tips on how to to control it? I'd be very grateful!!

Very infrequently. This is why: Sometimes when you hyperventilate, you are forgetting to exhale. You just keep inhaling, so you body will make you go to sleep for a sec to allow you to go to involuntary breathing and then you exhale and can breath again and wake up. It is barely a second. But there is no danger and to 100% prevent this, just remember to exhale if you are hyperventilating.

Jodi Aman : I can relate to that. I use Piano and Flute music , and Native American flute. It works most of the time, but the key is always to control breathing, though this is very difficult during an attack. Peace.

When i feel panic attack during my under pressure work, I go to the bathroom to roam around and calm myself. When I'm home, i often feel also a panic attack caus of stress at work, I draw at a piece of papar and clean & organize things that needs to be clean at my house. It actually works, makes me more calm. The missing is my dog, hes at my hometown. Cant bring him with me cos its not allowed to the house im living, miss him so much. So i bought aquarium fishes to feel more relaxed.

Panic attacks... I’ve had them for 3 years and origami helps me. I’m a Christian and many say that it is a lack of faith. This is not at all the case. There are certain things that we can not control. Look at the lives of Paul and Job for instance. Many use the verse about casting all your anxiety on the lord. The term anxiety is a very broad spectrum. The focal point I’m talking about here is fear. Is fear from God? No absolutely not! Does God allow it? Yes, Jesus was so fearful that he sweat blood before he was crucified. Being afraid is okay. It is possible to be afraid and trust God. -that was my encouragement to fellow Christians. If you are an atheist or you reject Christianity, I am not forcing my belief on you, but rather I am simply sharing my testimony. Wish I can move .. I always get them while driving . On the highway . The most I can do it pull over & scream it out , cry it out !

I wish I could just get up and do things during my panic attacks, I'm always dizzy 24/7 so it's hard for me to just stand up it sucks.
Can you have your ears checked. Vertigo is so disurbing. It would cause me panic!

if you re upset about not sleeping, you adrenaline goes up. Find something to do and soon, you will relax and want to sleep.

About to get a panic attack I get up from where ever I am and leave to another room and catch fresh air it always helps me.

i can’t do this anymore, there was a monsoon where i live and i had the worst panic attack. my heart was racing, i was breathing rapidly, and then i started crying. now i have a panic attack whenever it starts thundering, or when i see lighting, or when i see rain.

You can't move if an onset attack happens out of nowhere when you're driving. And I don't have a fear of driving but it's really strange that the few panic attacks that I have had all the sudden come on when I'm driving.

Idk if this was a panic attack but I am deathly afraid of throwing up and Ik people get carsick and I had a car ride this morning and I woke up feeling super sick shaking dry mouth couldn’t stop shaking and screaming and I can’t go to the car like it makes it worse so thank you this helped

I have panic attacks at work but I can’t afford to go home or even clock out to go take a nap or anything. it’s super stressful because i need my job and most of the time at work i’m by myself so i have nobody to talk to. it sucks. i’ve been crying every single day because i can’t afford therapy

I’m really tired of panic attacks I have them all the time several time in the day like man these thoughts as soon as I can’t breathe my my thoughts start racing and then my heart beats faster and I get even more panicky and then I’ve had panic attacks since I was about nine and then obviously I’ve done so many things to get away from it but I’m at the point where every distraction is a reminder of why I’m doing it which is my anxiety so it’s gotten tough to distract myself

I had panic attacks in school. I was and still am on medication for it, but the dosage wasn't enough. It got so bad that I am doing online school now. I cant imagine going back and sitting in a classroom ever again.
hollyraeanne Wow so sorry to hear you're going through that. But at least you found something that works for you. I started having bad anxiety only in the last year and it's scary and new to me. I'm literally afraid to die. As a fellow anxiety sufferer I really feel for you and hope things get better for you soon
Thank you! I'm on new a medication and it seems to be helping, but then again, it's new. I've had anxiety for years and all I have been doing is taking meds to help, but your video has really helped me. I feel like I am in control of my life. I've distracted myself pretty well during an attack. I'm not as shaky after a panic attack. You really have helped me, thank you so much!
Also, a tip from me. During an attack, try to really believe that it's all in your head. Everyone does this, but really go through with it. Have a fan blowing on you too. I use to feel like this air was dirty and I had to sit by an air cleaner. So, sitting by a fan can help make you feel like your breathing in fresh air:)

@@doctorjodi Surprisingly well! I tried following your steps like, moving my body and it helped! I talked to some of my friends beforehand as well and managed to relax. My voice was shaky for the first few seconds but at least this time I didn't have a full on panic attack. I'm so proud of myself for not panicking! Thank you for the tips!

I get panic attacks in public like when I'm in the gas station the grocery store so on. I just end up shaking uncontrollably. The longer I'm in there the worse it gets. It makes me want to avoid going in stores. This only started a couple of months ago. Any tips on how to to control it? I'd be very grateful!!

I have panic attacks in school, i'm so scared, and my biggest fear is to pass out. Can i pass out during panic attack?
Very infrequently. This is why: Sometimes when you hyperventilate, you are forgetting to exhale. You just keep inhaling, so you body will make you go to sleep for a sec to allow you to go to involuntary breathing and then you exhale and can breath again and wake up. It is barely a second. But there is no danger and to 100% prevent this, just remember to exhale if you are hyperventilating.

Jodi Aman : I can relate to that. I use Piano and Flute music , and Native American flute. It works most of the time, but the key is always to control breathing, though this is very difficult during an attack. Peace.

When i feel panic attack during my under pressure work, I go to the bathroom to roam around and calm myself. When I'm home, i often feel also a panic attack caus of stress at work, I draw at a piece of papar and clean & organize things that needs to be clean at my house. It actually works, makes me more calm. The missing is my dog, hes at my hometown. Cant bring him with me cos its not allowed to the house im living, miss him so much. So i bought aquarium fishes to feel more relaxed.

Panic attacks... I’ve had them for 3 years and origami helps me. I’m a Christian and many say that it is a lack of faith. This is not at all the case. There are certain things that we can not control. Look at the lives of Paul and Job for instance. Many use the verse about casting all your anxiety on the lord. The term anxiety is a very broad spectrum. The focal point I’m talking about here is fear. Is fear from God? No absolutely not! Does God allow it? Yes, Jesus was so fearful that he sweat blood before he was crucified. Being afraid is okay. It is possible to be afraid and trust God. -that was my encouragement to fellow Christians. If you are an atheist or you reject Christianity, I am not forcing my belief on you, but rather I am simply sharing my testimony.
