I don't even care what you make videos about, Ahoy. The pure production quality is enough for me. This one being extraordinarily interesting is just a nice bonus. Please come back!
Not even a beer drinker, yet I watched this anyway. Stu is such a craftsman in his video structure. No matter the topic at hand, his attention to detail and presentation always ensnare me. You did it again Stu. From someone who rarely consumes alcohol, and even more rarely beer, 2 thumbs up!
I remember I saw this video a while back when it released and being an avid craft beer fan I found it interesting but admittedly was lost in all the technical wording but after being a homebrewer for the past few years I can really appreciate all the research and info that's presented in this video. All the info is spot on and of course the quality is great, great job Ahoy!
It's a damn sin how few views you get, your writing/editing/diologue/video structure and general production quality is in the top 1% of youtube users by far.
Whilst I still miss seeing you cut through the opposition on COD this is a wonderfully produced, informative video that broadened my beer drinking horizons. Perfect cannon fodder for pub conversations. Thank you Stuart
That's why I like your videos, Stu. You're always adding new information, researching and explaining the present showing the past with a long and detailed timeline. Those videos inspire me. I hope you will keep and improve this style. I shall cheer with Pepsi, for now.
You can tell how much work went into this video...Thanks stu, the 16 minutes just flew right by. Greetings from the beautiful and beer rich Düssleldorf!
Another bad ass video Stu. Thanks for the very interesting history of what I casually enjoy throughout the week. Sierra Nevada has a regional release of certain beers only distributed in the Northern California area. Thanks for the video
stu i really enjoyed this video! it was really interesting, and i could tell you were interested in what you were talking about. Usually your video quiality is better when you like what you are doing. keep up the good work. cheers!
NOTE: After Prohibition nearly destroyed the American beer companies, the products they put out were of such low quality that they were seen as swill that is always used to get drunk. The industries still haven't fully recovered.
IPAs are a really refined taste, and unless you happen to like them I normally don't order one I've never heard of unless I feel adventurous. I've had plenty a six-pack go to roommates or guests because I can't stand things I thought I would enjoy. Typically if I want something with flavor, a good stout or porter is always a safe bet. Even ones I've never had before, the differences in taste can be subtle and don't seem to overwhelm like IPAs can.
Man, I'm so glad I stayed subbed to your channel despite my loss of interest in CoD. Any chance you'll be covering ales as well? Nothing beats a good english stout or porter and I'm sure you'd do another A+ job as usual when covering its history.
Sigh, I went to Prague and fell even more in love with the freshness of their Pilsner. Now, I can't find anything even close in here in the states... I am brewing my own and Lagering a batch of pilsner to try and replicate that freshness. I think we can learn a few things from the Czech bars and restaurants... good fresh beer and clean tap lines create a better overall drinking experience. but we are all about the $$- not the experience.
@@SkiDaBird yeah I am pretty lucky to live in Chicago, we have easy access to many different kinds of Czech pilsners and breweries in the city- but it’s just not the same as fresh from the tap in Pilsen or Prague.
Brilliant video! Would love to see one on Ales. I have been moving away from commercial Lagers since my mid 20's and am now heavily invested in Ales and Wheat Beers.
This was great! Will you be going over most other popular alcoholic beverages (i.e. vodka, sake, wine, scotch, whiskey), or will this series mainly hold it's focus on the different types and brews of beer? Anyways, can't wait to watch the next one! Cheers
Stu, your pronounciation is much on point, as usual. The only sound that wasn't quite correct was the Urquell, that'd be more like "oor-kwell". Glad to see Drinks Ahoy back!
I don't even care what you make videos about, Ahoy. The pure production quality is enough for me. This one being extraordinarily interesting is just a nice bonus. Please come back!
+Welmholtz Hatson i know exactly the same for me! i enjoy just listing to him talk about stuff and how well presented it is
He has a sexy voice...
he has a main channle called just ahoy so go there for more
I put a deliberate mistake in every video, just to keep you guys on your toes.
Lol
“What could be better than Ahoy talking about guns and games?” I thought...
I'm on a pun tolerance break.
do this again
do this again
do this again
Do this again
do this again
if only stu voiced "how its made"
I wish I'd known about this subchannel earlier, you should do more of this content some time.
I'd drink to that
Cheers!
Me to!
I'm a minor and I like this kinda stuff.

Most of the SFX are from freesound.
"LAGER LAGER LAGER LAGER LAGER" - lyrical genius
We love you, Ahoy. Thank you for all your videos.
This man is a living gift to documentaries.
Finally, something else to talk about at the bar besides TV or sports. Thanks, Stu.
Ahoy talking about Beer. Perfection.
Born Slippy on the intro 👌👌
Trainspotting:)

You should do another one of these at some point.
He probably with never see this but I really want to see more.
I agree a year on
lol 5:35 check them dates 😂
Well done Stuart, subtly sneaking in Underworld's Born Slippy into the intro, smooth.
It's a damn sin how few views you get, your writing/editing/diologue/video structure and general production quality is in the top 1% of youtube users by far.
5:35 Emil Christian Hansen lived for -33 years, Nice video though
There's an equals to sign next to it..
Equals sign next to what?
Pahahahaha!
The Voice, is golden.
This was a great way to start off the channel. You never cease to impress. Someone please shower this man with riches!
There's nothing quite as refreshing as an ice cold lager.
This is one of the most informative and best quality beer videos I have seen. Good job! Thanks for the time and effort in production and research.
I dont even like beer, yet I've listened the whole video because of your golden voice
I like xbox ahoy a lot because he's the only British person that doesn't try to insult America, let alone every other country as well
I find XboxAhoy's videos to be 9001 times more addictive than motherfucking *crack.*
Whilst I still miss seeing you cut through the opposition on COD this is a wonderfully produced, informative video that broadened my beer drinking horizons. Perfect cannon fodder for pub conversations. Thank you Stuart
These drink/beverage history lessons are so nice to listen to when I work! Please do more!
That's why I like your videos, Stu. You're always adding new information, researching and explaining the present showing the past with a long and detailed timeline. Those videos inspire me. I hope you will keep and improve this style.
I shall cheer with Pepsi, for now.
Finally, a good, long and very high-quality video about Pils' beer
Ahhh finally an upload to Drinks Ahoy and a very good one. Nice job Stu!
You can tell how much work went into this video...Thanks stu, the 16 minutes just flew right by. Greetings from the beautiful and beer rich Düssleldorf!
You've really set the Drinks Ahoy channel off to a brilliant start Stu, a perfect video! Looking forward to the future of this channel.
Ahoy videos keep me entranced even tho I don't really appreciate the topic
Very nice video Stu, once again a visual wet dream. Your use of minimalistic elements is astonishing.
Probably the best video you ever made Stuart. Bravo.
This was a very good video to watch. I found it very entertaining and informative, thanks stuart
Another bad ass video Stu. Thanks for the very interesting history of what I casually enjoy throughout the week. Sierra Nevada has a regional release of certain beers only distributed in the Northern California area. Thanks for the video
Yes! I'm so happy Drinks Ahoy finally has a video! Keep up the great vids, Stu.
stu i really enjoyed this video! it was really interesting, and i could tell you were interested in what you were talking about. Usually your video quiality is better when you like what you are doing.
keep up the good work. cheers!
Im glad you showed the positive and negatives of Lager. Most "connoisseurs" would just bash them.
I think this channel is going to be a massive hit!
NOTE:
After Prohibition nearly destroyed the American beer companies, the products they put out were of such low quality that they were seen as swill that is always used to get drunk. The industries still haven't fully recovered.
I am higly anticipating more so called episodes covering other drinks!
Great job Stu! Easily worth the wait!
Love the work put into this.
Well done stu!!! Great video.
I'd love to see a full in depth story on cider :)
P.s. I like your quality over quantity approach
Excellent job on this video, keep it up Stu :)
After watching some older Ahoy videos, I swear he's eaten rocks in the past years. Voice so deeeeep.
lol XD moment
Interesting subject, well written script, and great delivery make this one of the best surprises of the week!
I love your new channel. I'd love to see more.
Digging the new channel Stuart, cheers!

I don't even drink beer but i truly enjoyed this. Extremely well made and very informative. I hope to see more in the near future
Nicely done Stew. Very informative and nicely narrated. Cheers!
Great choice of song, excellent video, from a fellow gamer and beer snob, hats off.
Now I'm in the mood for a Corona. Great vid Stu.
Stu, you should do a video about your top 10 favourite games and do a let's play for each. The series could be ten episodes in length.
Still drinking Lager beer to this video in 2022!
I love every video you make but it would be sweet if we got more DrinksAhoy videos at some point!
I wouldn't care how long it takes!
Stu, for the love of all that is booze, please do an Asian alcohol review!
He's waiting for the next cod: ghosts
Thank you for your work on this! This is quite awesome!
5 stars, fantastic video Stu.
That. Was. Great. Now I want to drink a beer! Thanks Stu
These are not only great but very well done as well.
Please do more of these Stuart!!!!
Man, I'm so glad I stayed subbed to your channel despite my loss of interest in CoD. Any chance you'll be covering ales as well? Nothing beats a good english stout or porter and I'm sure you'd do another A+ job as usual when covering its history.
When my parents overheard this video they thought i was watching History Chanel
DRINKS AHOY is too good for them!!!!!!
Preciate this.. Look forward to a great beer channel
ah stu i was so happy when i saw this. if your still in need of drinks live i'm always up for an internet brew with you
Murican-Light-lager... For the special moments when Murican-Lager Just ain't quite insipid enough ;)
your voice makes the world a better place

You can find Pilsner Urquell semi reliably in grocery stores. I do live in a beer drinking city in a beer drinking state though.

@@LouB3rt That I get.
These videos should have been on your main channel!
But I respect your choice :)
Nicely made video, quite informative!
Hope there will be more coming out soon :)
Love this video like I love all your others. Orgasmic voice Stuart haha
You can say anything and I'll listen along all day.
Ah, the long awaited video finally arrives. Very informative.
Love it stu, Informative and thirst building :) cider next?
By the way a place for storing things is called a lager in german and is also the origin of the word. Lagerung is the act of storing.
Beer enthusiasts, unite! Salut, stu!
We need an equivalent video about Ales.
Excellent video, loved it, looking forward to more ;)
Great work my second time when I'm watching this !
Very good video. This information shall serve me as a conversation piece for many drinking sessions to come.
I absolutely love your graphics!
Brilliant video!
Would love to see one on Ales.
I have been moving away from commercial Lagers since my mid 20's and am now heavily invested in Ales and Wheat Beers.
Beautifully made
This was great!
Will you be going over most other popular alcoholic beverages (i.e. vodka, sake, wine, scotch, whiskey), or will this series mainly hold it's focus on the different types and brews of beer?
Anyways, can't wait to watch the next one!
Cheers
Truly excellent job.
Stuart, you should put together another video with a brief history on "high-gravity" lager.
Stu, your pronounciation is much on point, as usual. The only sound that wasn't quite correct was the Urquell, that'd be more like "oor-kwell". Glad to see Drinks Ahoy back!
Just came across this channel. I’d kill to see more videos like this!
Great vid Stu.
Can you please make more of these?!?!??!
