    It must be possible to use these to create a flex wire earring shouldn’t it ? Just a matter of how or when you add your beads and then crimp it shut, at least it looks that way, one way to find out I guess 🤔 cheers for another great video girls 👍👍😍😘

    Nice magnetic clasp! Can you use wire guards with stretch elastic cord? Is it recommended?

    Could they also be use with Fireline and Wildfire in bead weaving work? If yes,what size would you use? Thank you!

      They can certainly be used with beading thread, such as Fireline and Wildfire. We have wire/thread protectors that can accommodate a few different sizes. If you use Fireline or Wildfire that is less than .019 inches thick, we recommend using the thread protectors that can accommodate wire/thread up to .019 inches (they will say .019 inches in the title): www.beadaholique.com/beading-components/crimp-ends-covers-cord-ends/knot-covers/wire_protector

    I’m having issues with crimping the wire off. I have a crimping pliers and my necklaces keep breaking at the crimping bead.. I tried not crimping too hard with the crimping pliers... I spend so much time making the necklace only for it to break the wire!! I’m almost ready to give this hobby up! I use 49 strand .021.. i don’t know if I should buy stronger wire or different crimping beads or different pliers or I should try something else completely. Please help me figure out what the problem is!!

      That is frustrating. Here’s what I suggest. First I would recommend trying to use wire protectors in your work. It will make the clasp stronger and put less stress on the crimp bead. I would also try using crimp tubes over beads. My go to crimping pliers are the Xuron 4 in 1. They have a V notch as opposed to a U or bean shape that is more traditional. I find it is a better fit for the wire and doesn’t “crunch” it so it is less prone to tearing. I hope this helps. All of the products I mentioned can be seen is this tutorial:

    I want to make beaded collars for dogs using a heavy-duty wire. What would you suggest for the wire? I plan to make some with martingale parts so it will be used as a collar and the dog will pull.

      You know that's a great question but I don't think we've ever made anything like that. I'd hesitate to recommend anything meant for an animal to wear without doing a bit of research. I can tell you the heaviest wire we sell by the spool that's flexible enough to string and bead is a 22 gauge 49 strand stainless steel wire. It has a test strength of 40 lb. which feels like it would probably be unsafe for a lot of dog breads. You can take a look at it here, but I would suggest doing more research before buying anything: beadaholique.com/collections/wire/products/soft-flex-49-strand-heavy-beading-wire-024-inch-thick-30-feet-satin-silver

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  6 років тому

      The 4 in 1 crimping pliers can be used with 1mm, 2mm and 3mm crimps. They also have a chain nose tip, which is the 4th feature. You can learn more about them here: ua-cam.com/video/---E_KBRrlI/v-deo.html

    Using a magnetic clasp is a good way to lose your jewelry if you don't add a safety chain- plus they get stuck on EVERYTHING. Your purse clasp, steel doors you name it. If you sell your jewelry it's a good way to have irritated customers.

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому +1

      Our approach when selling at jewelry shows and on Etsy is to always offer a range of different pieces with a variety of clasp options. Magnetic clasps have all those potential downsides (They can be difficult to craft with too) but they're much easier for some people to put on and that accessibility can make the difference between someone buying a bracelet or not

      @@beadaholique Might be good for one sale- but they won't buy from us again if they lose it the first time they wear it- money down the drain. Easily solved with a safety chain.

      @@cynthiahicks1909 Agreed, safety chains make a great addition for these, especially if you like the look of the clasp but not the magnets
