@@merchant_of_kek5697 I guess you saying that they just take the mods from the workshop and put them behind a paywall? If so, no. cDLC generally have higher quality, sp missions, mp missions and more compared to their mod counter parts (if they have even mod counter parts9)

Bros literally the king of Arma cinematography
There's so many small details here that show the level of research and passion put in to this.
1:06 and 1:35 onwards for example. The US used frogskin camo in the early phases of the Normandy landings and Normandy campaign. However, so the stories go, the camo looked too similar to German patterns and was leading to friendly fire incidents, so was withdrawn from the European front.

I heard it was more to do with it being too expensive to produce compared to other uniforms and not actually effective camo for their environment
@@DormantGamesAnd they faded and wore out after 4-5 months. I also saw an author do a talk who said the problem with friendly fire was actually the green m43 uniforms which were introduced incrementally in Normandy. The color was similar to the German Field green at a distance.
and then the infantry radio the airplanes for CAS and my immersion was broken

Only complaint is those 76mm Shermans were more than a match for that tiger. No reason for them to retreat like that.

The tiny jets of flame coming from the circumference of the MG42's flash hider looks awesome. First time I've seen any WW2 game do that with its muzzle flash!
What's even funnier is, this is technically not even a WW2 game, this is just a CDLC, basically a big, officially licensed mod for Arma.
Now THAT is how you do a WW2 trailer.

@@hunormagyar1843 Even if you did the latter I'd be surprised if you could get the AI to do even a fraction of the stuff from this trailer, let alone without heavy scripting.
@@shadow7988 I mean right, the animations... you do need scripting in Eden to recreate that, or the Zeus Enhanced mod...

I think it's the best trailer I've ever seen when it comes to anything from Bohemia. Top notch work. Creator DLC is something they should do for the consoles with DayZ. Select some mod content packs, or bring over a couple of maps for purchasable DLC. Revenue split between Bohemia the creator and of course the console makers taking their cut. Which is very similar to what's being done with this through steam.
All the assets look new and well detailed and have good weathering effects. The flame throwers are a nice addition. The French resistance faction looks authentic. The map has some good quality buildings and the map is large enough for aerial battles. Hopefully they add some more planes in future updates. Impressive DLC - well done.

the next one will have to start on modern day not the future or else we will have to wait years for good poplar content to come out . i wasnt fan of the 2035 setting and weaponry so i didnt start playing it for real until mods came out
@@LauftFafa yeah, I remember when I started playing wasteland mode, back in the alpha version, then got invited to milsim group, a few years later RHS and ACE has came out, the hype about it was amazing! Such a nostalgia!
I agree, they should focus on modern times, but I am concerned how will they explain it in the "lore". I still love the campaign! :D
None of it looked like ArmA, because there's no way in hell you'll ever get combat to be remotely this fluid or coordinated in game, lmao. The jank AI is completely incapable of this, the trailer is obviously heavily scripted and probably using player actors. Honestly I'm not a fan at all of trailers like these that are engaged in blatantly false advertising.
@@shadow7988 Unfortunately, as far as i have seen, the Reforger AI is no better, than the one in ArmA 3, so I guess we have to bear it in the next game :p

@@Ltblitzful Creator DLC is basically Bohemia approved mods. They mainly do quality assurance but they _also_ assist the devs in some stuff, however the DLC is largely built by the indie dev/modding team. They are not affiliated with, or employed by, Bohemia at all.

Seems only yesterday I was supporting I44 in OFP. Wonderful to see this theatre continue to be recreated in Arma 3, great work.
Finally a WW2 content that doesn't rely on Iron Front assests that are over a decade old

It’s an toggleable option. Nearly every game since Rising Storm has forgotten it, so I’m happy it was included here.
When all else fails, Arma will provide.

unlikely to see anything of this scale, not many devs want to put the amount of time and effort required to make a DLC/mod like this for an unoptimised game(even by arma standards) that'll be shut down in a year or 2
