Thanks for this! Man, did anyone else JUMP when that audio came in all of a sudden?

Thanks for doing this video and for your channel. Very informative and to the point. I have a question that maybe you can provide some insight on. I create a sequence where I sync up my clips from Cam A and B. Since I record on Atomos recorders/monitors, I have 4 audio tracks per camera. I delete 3 of the 4 audio tracks from each camera, and also add in a clean audio track recorded on an external audio device. I then group it. When I bring the group track onto a sequence, it bring with it more audio tracks than what I had in the sequence I used to build the group - in essence some of the tracks I originally deleted. Any thoughts on why that is?

In the 2018.12 version they added a new feature where you can right click a sequence and hit "create multi-group from sequence". Your out of luck if your version is before that, it will only group the full original clips with every audio channel and then you have to cut what you want in or out. Thanks for the kind words about the channel friend!

@@avidbeer Thanks. I have 2020.5. So it looks like I have to create the group first and then make the deletions to the audio tracks, and update the group. Thanks.

@@avidbeer Your channel is awesome man thank you, can you explain the difference between a group and a mulitgroup it seems like they have the same functionality but your comment here makes me think you can edit audio channels in a multigroup. (Still trying to figure out how to have multiple track1s in a timeline from different sources) Than you! Cheers!

Thanks a lot Mike! So with group clips you are kind of locked in with whatever/however you grouped the clips. With a multigroup you work with it the same way as the group clips in this video but if it's a multigroup you can actually open it up almost like a nested/collapsed track clip and then you can edit in new clips on different tracks, delete parts of the group etc. I haven't had any real world need for it yet but I can imagine it being helpful in a lot of situations. Cheers!

Great job. Do you have a pdf for grouping?

if you click this video (see link below) I tried both methods (the one at 0:23 and the one at 1:20.) both miserably failed. why? Does this waveform sync technique only work if there is no timecode breaks? I noticed in both your video and his, people aren't using multiple clips per camera. I'm starting to suspect this only works if you have one clip per camera. ua-cam.com/video/otWOtzqx7zg/v-deo.html My clips dont have timecode sync

Hi Rachel, sry this took so long for me to respond. So definitely multiple clips and timecode breaks are an issue...to me multiple clips with timecode breaks can be synced but that means they would be multiple separate group clips. I've worked on field shoots with a lot timecode breaks and you have to make a group clip for each section in the break. You can use waveform synce or not but it doesn't matter for your issue. Tedious but it's the way it is. I have no idea how to write the computer code that could get around that...I do know how to drink beer!
