you should look into using a micro pulley under your blakes hitch. they're like 15 bucks on treestuff and they will make slack tending so much easier and you only need one hand too.
i hope you took the rest of the tree down but by the way the tree looked when you pulled up (topped in the past ) and your description successfully trim large trees i think you just topped it. which is way wrong. any person who tops a tree should not be allowed to trim or touch a saw in my opinion
The tree, a Modesto Ash, was a potential hazard. It should come completely out. I just wanted to lessen the likelihood of a limb falling on the house or car.
a lot of trees will take a quarter crown topping, an live for years, but your right travis, still a bad idea. people don't realize when they plant, so it's guaranteed work in the future.
yikes. With your work positioning if that saw kicks back while making the back-cut it will probably severe your head at the neck. Position yourself better to stay safe.
if you want to work and feed your family you do wht the customer asks for. nice vid ( old school hitch but good job man)
Thats a beautiful standing chunk of dead wood you made there!
