Why? Steve was so cringe.
The pressure he was under with Girl & Lakai had to be stopped, he also lived in a city where everyone was doing blunt slides down a 10 stair handrail & he was doing ollies over railings. He could never openly be his own type of skater so he hated everything & His dad wasn't helping since he seems to bug him a lot, i like to think that they do love each other, but idk. Nonetheless, he's in NYC now and he has Call me 917 & bianca chandon being successful brands. He seems a lot happier now but who knows, & tbh i dont really care just as long as he keeps doing no complies & making clothes, I'm happy.

he seems like he loves his dad but that living together was making him hate him, which i can def identify with. my mom is my favorite person in the world but i'm ready to flip after living at home for even like two weeks

I feel like I can relate to Alex personally I skate alone because my dad drinks allot and most of the time i want to be left alone. Im sure Alex wouldn't care if he were sponsored or not. Living in that type of home, skating for hours on end is the only way to keep yourself remotely sane

@johnbutler8694 actually yes! I'm still skating! I host music and art events for people in my home town. I I have found more people with similar backgrounds and we work together to give young people something to do.
*I'm a welder by trade* I drift and interview other drift drivers. Life is definitely what you make of it.

Yo Alex you gotta cool ass dad... I know I never lived with him but always be grateful for your father and having him in your life cause I just lost my father a few weeks ago on Easter and as much as he drove me crazy at times I'd give ANYTHING to have him back... I wish my father was a pro skater and "unschooled" me with regular boring school but could've taught me how to skate... Anyway just be grateful for your father cause to me he seems like a pretty awesome guy and he was and always will be an awesome skater so bottom line enjoy him while he's around cause some day just like all of us he'll be gone and you'd give ANYTHING to have him back.. Keep shredding bro..

Steve ‘Bulky’ Olsen was Skateboarder Magazine’s Skateboarder of the Year 1978 or 79. He signed that issue and one with his cover shot for me at a downhill slalom race in Breckinridge Colorado 2002.

10 years later and he’s one of my biggest inspiration. being an owner of some of the coolest skate brands that’s out in recent years. alex is just such a character and so weird and so different but so cool. i love alex olson
He's the product of a parent that can never be "the bigger person" it makes you get over a lot of the other bullshit.
