- Here we have Charlie Olson's Korean built Epiphone Sheraton. I changed the pickups using a Lollar 4 wire Imperial Lowind in the neck position and a Lollar 4 wire Standard Imperial in the bridge position. I also used a tone pros bridge, my RMF tone kit, with master volume (push pull for series), Master tone control (push pull for out of phase), neck volume control (push pull for neck coil tap), bridge volume control (push pull for bridge coil tap). We also used a RMF Custom cable using Mogami 2524 and Neutrik plugs. The guitar was strung with Curt Mangan 10-46 nickle wound strings. Charlie was playing through his Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, with a Weber F-150, and Beam Blocker. We compared the overall tone to a 1967 Gibson ES-335 and a Gibson 77 ES-335. The Epi has sustain for days with incredibly rich bell like round tones and a huge palate of different voices. After I completed the installation and played the Epi..WOW! Kudos to Charlie Olson, Curt Mangan, Jason Lollar, Mogami, Sozo, Weber Speakers, Neutrik, Fender, and RMF.
thanks for your thorough answer !
@muzichan
The RMF tone kit is a combination of a Sozo .002 with 100K resistor for each volume control and a Sozo .047 for the tone pot.
Thanks!
Can you share this schematic? How does having low and high imperials effect the shared position? Won’t this mess up the humbucking or is there something you do to fix this electronically?
@mojamming
RJ..I agree. Thanks for the heads up...your Lucille or 335 will sound incredible with the Lollars..
Many thanks for your support and friendship!

rhykko, Huge improvement! Cleaner, much more articulate, far more harmonic content, greater touch sensitivity, and far more transparent.. In addition, I am using bourns pots, sozo caps, and mogami wire from the master volume (with my Tone Maintenance Kit : Sozo .002 with 100K resistor and .
047 Sozo cap for the tone pot) to the jack. Also, mogami 2524 guitar cable with Neutrik connectors. It all makes for an incredible guitar tone potential. Now, on to the amp!
Many thanks for your interest!
I'd have to say the Gibson destroys the Epi. I love Lollar's and have them in 10 guitars,but it can't touch the tone of that Gibson to these ears anyway. Disclaimer, I'm not a Gibson fan at all. I had many over the years and sold all but 1. I have a Larry Carlton 335 with Lollar Imperials in and it's amazing. Thanks for a cool video.
The red one sounds better.
do you feel that the Lollars are a substantial improvement over the stock Gibsons that were in your 335 ? Also, are the Lollars clearer , or brighter than the Gibsons ?
now that! is a way to rig you guitar
would love to have seen a before video edited and followed by an after vid .... just an idea.
was the tonepro bridge an easy replacment?
epiphone wins!
Can you direct me towards a diagram for the wiring of this guitar?
