1:58 that's a frightening loop to see to steam locos at speed poping out from the corner
2:15 i like the class 20 horn
3:55 I like how my local transit system just pops out of nowhere in a british video lol
An amazing collection of sounds compressed into a magical 6 minutes.
A super video Rory, and an excellent comprehensive list of the locos featured. Great viewing and very well edited ineed. Cheers - Allan.

Very nice quick cuts. manyMANY good memories in just a few minutes of videos.
2:01 this train sounds like it’s saying “WOOOOhoooo!”
As a child in the 50s I'd fall asleep listening to Britannias and Black Fives pulling out of Upperby Goods and Harraby Steam Sheds, Carlisle. Lovely sound
Fantastic clips Rory!! Loved it well done. Liked and faved.
Marvellous compilation. Just right to cheer me up on a cold Autumn night.
2:00 best one yet

Thank you very much Allan, those words mean so much to me! All the best :D

Great compilation...takes you back...when we had a `proper` railway. Although steam is my preference..you cant beat a good old blast from a CL40.....magic?
Super video!
I must put this one on my favourites; this is such FUN. AND......drums roll.....huge orchestra on stage.....I HAVE SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL!!!!!! I did it during the Tornado whistling sequence at Preston; I'll try and find the precise timing...
I think it was at 3'47"; Tornado was whistling fit to burst; sounded like something from "Gordon's Whistle" (from "Henry the Green Engine" story 3!!!!)
0:38 A good way to start the morning with a diesel.
0:47 what I would think of if I ever went to the UK
2:01 RWS whistle
4:37 what a train whistle would sound in the UK
I’m not entirely sure what you’re trying to say. The 0:38 is an AC electric engine. What do you mean by ‘rws whistle’?
@@bennickss The Railway Series whistle
@@bennickss 0:38 makes me imagine wanting to start off my day with a diesel horn, if I went to the Uk.
4:27 I never realised that Pendos made good ventriloquists!
Who knew they could disguise themselves as a Castle Class so easily?
5:35 seems this diesel watched "Tone Deaf" by tardisrescue
Nope. On Ilkley Moor Bah Tat is a regular tone configuration. Not just because of one video.
2:37 5:36 That one was very musical xD
Yep xD
It sounds like something out of chuggington
And the 2:16
1:15, I think I saw some of those in america.
The 92 or the 60?
I love train whistles in the video.
03:41 is my favourite train
Tornado
What was with the 2 class 92’s?
I’m just going to leave this timestamp here:
2:08
Very nice video. :-)
Between 3:56-4:01 were those American trains in England or were those shot in England?
They're shot in the states. Had a brief scan through the description
At 4:00 I SWEAR that's New Jersey Transit's logo!
It's taken in USA
He’s doing a compilation of American and British whistles and horns
@@OFFICIAL-JAY-Z why put american first when there’s only three out of this entire compilation?
British train horns sound kinda weird. I only say it because I’m an American, and my country’s next-door neighbors in Mexico and Canada surely have similar thoughts. But that’s just me.
The whistles though are really good. Especially that of the A4s, Britannia, and Flying Scotsman’s original whistle for example.
3:43 Origin of one of the whistle sound effects
2:12 one of my fav horns
also i can’t tell but is it a class 37 or 40?
Nice!
Are some of these at Oxenholme?
Can I make Trainz hornsounds with these?
i like the DVT horn 5:32
I know, I love American horns, they seem to have so much beef behind them! :D
5:32 sounds like an extremely fouled NJT K5LA
1:49 My Fav

Tornado
Okay, thank you. :)
I bet that LNER A4 Pacific 4464 is kind a look like Spencer. And I like that whistle too.
‘Kinda’ yeah Spencer’s basis is an A4, what would you expect? I hate people who think that the locomotive was based off the rws character.

A well known tone across the railway community. On Ilkley Moor Bah Tat.
2:15 Mind if i make this into an audio short and put it on a website?
and also that horn is my fav one
The train this a class 20
1:01 98462's whistle
Why are there no mallard railtours anymore
It hasn’t steamed since 1986 and would need a massive overhaul
LOL at 4:27; Voyager pouring out smoke and giving a whistle!
Nice one maybe they converted it to steam power! lol
nice joke
Derek TP That's a pendilino
Yes! That shot does look like the Pendolino is steam fired!
That diesel is not having steam it was a steam engine

No this bocos horn thia a mavis horn
Not quite but close
I live near a metro station in the north east of England, and one of the metro’s horns sounded just like BoCo’s (more than this one)
3:50 this a paxton horn
200th like :D
2:13 Fred Horn
OHHH MANNN....is it good to see the Duke of Gloucester in action. As of now, it's the most powerful operating British Locomotive today...4:19
Even more so than the 9fs? I’m guessing by ‘most powerful British locomotive’ you mean STEAM locomotive, the class 59/66 (3300hp) is probably the most powerful on the whole uk rail network
@@bennickss the Duke of Gloucester produces a slightly more tractive effort. And it runs regularly on the mainlines compared to the special services that 9Fs pull maybe 10 times a year. 70010 Duke is being overhauled in Swindon right now. So it will be on the mailing pulling the Royal Duchy, Torbay Express, Elizabethan Express, and the Cathedrals Express. Acting like a filler locomotive for 60163 Tornado.
1:28 what engine has that whistle?
I’m pretty sure it was the A1 Locomotive “Tornado”
2:00 1:01 does it sound familiar?
5:35 train sim reference
3:21
How does everybody know this takes place in England?
The description, dumbass...
And for the fact that trains in Britain look radically different to everywhere else...
