    This is another very nice video…I’d love to visit an autumn festival like this one! And we love to see all the mushrooms you harvest…how do you preserve them - dried?? It would be so nice to have a meal with Filomena! We have good friends in Winnipeg 🇨🇦 who are from Calabria and they have an Italian restaurant, cooking school and grocery store. Their food is authentic and delicious! Cheers!

    Your property and the Village are just Beautiful! If ok to ask, what do you do for a living? Being as remote as you are I could see a person Telecommuting or working remotely! I work from home in Canada but getting ready to retire in the next year…more hiking, skiing, cycling, and yes riding dirt bikes as well….my wife is not happy with the last passion but I have ridden for 50 years!

    It is certainly a mountain village located in the Apennines in central Italy , perhaps in the Marche region , at least that's what it seems to me from the inhabitants' accent. Excellent choice; close to the mountains and also to the sea .

      It is in Abruzzo but very close to Le Marche. Really well noticed 👏 We love indeed the distance between the sea and the mountains 💚

    Great video! Your tiny village is so well kept for being abandoned the structures look in good shape. Just curious why the people left? Love the little church.

      Thank you 😊 the people who lived here were all shepherd's eventually they moved closer to the beach and found other types of jobs

      What is village name?

      There is no work. Which is why people leave. And there are few modern amenities. My grandparents lived in a small village in Umbria. We used to stay there for months at a time as children. There was a shop, two bars, a visiting Dr and a community centre. There was lots and lots of life. That all dwindled in the past 40 x 50 years. Now the village is being re inhabited with air b and b, remote workers who live cheaply and whose offices are in Roma and the fields are covered in solar panels.

      @Simplelifeinitaly  Місяць тому

      @europainvicta3907 that is completely true ... hopefully we can change it to people who want to produce and live in the villages again 🙏

    The forest is beautiful but seems like a monoculture of one type of tree, what species was that? I don't believe we have (m)any of those here in Umbria.

    • @Simplelifeinitaly
      @Simplelifeinitaly  Місяць тому +1

      Hi Stijn that is what happens if humans and animals don't interfere it results in a Monoculture, the strongest species take over. In this case beech tree. The shepherd's in the past created the bio diversity with the animals grazing from spot to spot . Eliminating only tree growth and spreading seeds of other plants. Unfortunately the shepherd's are rare now.
      For the funghi the beech tree is a perfect environment to grow 💚

    So typical that at the chestnut festival wine was the cheapest thing on the menu :-) 50c when a bottle of water was 1 euro

      Typical Italian 😉 like in Roman times when there was more wine than clean drinking water 😀
