Well, like i said this new version is R - 13 made for a younger audience.
You see more shine battles than political intrigues and drama.
This ramake don´t have axes battles or ground battles and graphics gory deaths like in the original.
The dialogues and script are dumbed down too.
They have less time to make a decent worldbuilding and characterization.
This results in more shallow characters:
Like Yang in the remake is just a lazy guy, in the original he is a depressive alcoholic, Kircheis acts like Reinhard and in the original he is his moral compass.
And you have to turn off your brain to watch this ridiculous script:
Like Yang turned into the hero of el facil just sitting and drinking tea or Kircheis winning against Kastrop just stationing his ship.
The original have a beautiful art style the characters have unique faces and a good human body language.
This remake have beautiful spaceships but the characters have generics faces and look less humans
if you take off the uniform you will see kuroko no basket characters or any others works production ig made.
You can watch and enjoy the battles, this is the only thing this ramake is good.
But remember, the original OVA series turned into a classic because of the characters, brilliant dialogues, worldbuilding, well made script, use of classic/romantic music and a singular graphics style for a space opera, not for the battles.

Biggest irony, both the remake and the original, is that he became a historical inspiration point that led to downfall of Goldenbaum and Free Planets Alliance.
Goldenbaum dynasty was overthrown by a military officer who took his path but deconstructed his aristocracy who became too complacent and decadent from his "best of the best" mentality.
Free Planets Alliance fell because they refuse to listen to Yang assuming that he would become Goldenbaum despite having little to no interest in power-grabbing.

For anyone who believes that a single man like Rudolf could not have possibly done so much changing damage to a nation/society and still retain absolute power and a strong sense of worship/support, then I would like you to point to the examples of Mao Zedong. Literally both Rudolf (Inferior Genes Exclusion Act) and Mao (Great Leap Forward) enacted genocidal policies on their own people and still remained strongly in power and even significant support. Both Mao and Rudolf despite murdering millions/billions of their own people still was revered similar to a God after their death.
For those that can't believe that Rudolph can turn an advanced/modern democratic republican interstellar society into space 18th century feudal Prussia, then Mao also a similar thing with the cultural revolution, where he effectively wiped out millennia of Chinese traditional culture and replaced it with his own preferred one with his own cult of personality. What really scares me so much is how easily the masses can be manipulated by ruler and state, and in some cases how little they can matter to a state as well. Mao killed around 50 million people and that only strengthened his power, Rudolph literally killed around 4.9 billion people and dramatically decreased the entire population of humanity, like literally when the Galactic Empire started, there were 300 billion people in the Galaxy. By the time of LOGH, literally only 25 billion people were left. That is so scary that a state can do so much damage to people with no real danger to its authority, and this again parallels in China where the one child policy has put China's demographics in terminal decline.
We may think people like Rudolf and the rise of the Galactic Empire can only exist in fiction, but they have existed many times in history before, and might very well exist again.

I figured it had to do with sustainability of planets over multiple generations but it sounds like it was actually put in place as a type of social conditioning to except the nobles and to prevent large gatherings.

Rudolf von Goldenbaum ended the degenerate decline of the Galactic Federation by turning back the clock of human civilisation by a few centuries too many. A stark warning about the decline of higher civilisation and the emergency measures taken when it can no longer be ignored.

Jesus Christ, I am not really sure about this new series, I felt the old one did flesh out the story far more, however the remake does one thing better than the old, it creates better drama sequences, flow and overall just looks much better, while the old one had issues with some scenes just being too damn short and the talk scenes just flashing by really quickly also skipping over some parts like the infighting between the royals when the Kaiser died.

This show is currently in it's third season SMGJohn, and I personally recommend it.
Yes it goes faster than the original that is certain, but honestly I'm starting to find the speed of the novel to be similar to the speed of Die Neue These interestingly enough.
If you've seen the original, I recommend the new. If you've not seen the original but is watching the new, I recommend to check out the original.
They're both good.

I don't think this is supposed to be a recap of 88's ep 40 if this is just ep 3. I do remember a short recap of Earth's history being told early on in the series so maybe they're saving a detailed version of it for later...but yeah I'm not feeling this version, the '88 series had a vintage look to it that was suitable. This completely misses the original premise. Rudolf here is just space Hitler. The character design suggests that as well so they very obviously are showing a "good" and "bad".
Also holy shit they cut out all of the story and all of the nuance too. This is comparable to Star Wars now in terms of political complexity.
A remake much like all other remakes nowadays; cuts out all nuance and story, makes generic plot, hires people to make the anime look good because that's literally the only thing companies care about nowadays, ignore the source material and hype the shit out of it.

Well even the original series Rudolf wiped out 90% of mankinds population over super idiotic reasons and reduced most of the rest to serfdom.
The guy was nunanced in the way Hitler was nunanced. Both came from nothing, rose to absolute power and generally believed what they did was for the good of mankind despite well all evidence pointing out the opposite. In way Rudolf was even worse not only due to the far higher death toll and far more widespread persecution but due the fact that he himself suffered from genetic defects making him a giant hypocrite on top of everything.
Rudolf was always meant to be the "absolute evil guy just like hitler" in a way the his loss of attractivness is more realistic due to mankinds worst monsters usually not being particulary attractive themselves.

Except for the fact that he enacted white-supremacist feudalism (well, meritocracy but entrenched politics destroyed it) and even the historian believed that much of the society chose "quick solution", though the said person happens to praise Black Fleet even if they massacred Earth population so a grain of salt.

1) Brought order to a failed democracy, massacred pirates, crushed crime and rebuilt a civilisation
2) ended years of stagnation and debauchery
3) was VOTED to become the emperor of mankind, hence VOTED, the people loved him that much because of his achievements to humanity
Cons
1) corrupted due to power
2) committed mass genocide to humans who have mental illness or genetic diseases
3) oppression of the people and striped thier rights from them
I won't say what Rudolf did was right, however taking in consideration of context of how he came to power and what it was like before his rule, I do believe what he did was nesscearry at the time, albeit a bit extreme

逆にゴリゴリ新しくしてイライラした別のアニメはありましたが、銀英伝は良くできてると思います。
艦船や戦闘機、制服 敬礼(同盟側は英国式) キャスト ナレーション。
同盟のローゼン•リッター連隊と帝国の装甲擲弾兵との白兵戦、ロイエン• タール大将とシェーン•コップ少将との一騎討ち(ロイエンタール提督は片手持ちのサーベルに対してシェーンコップ連隊長は両手握りのサーベル? など、制作側の考察が凄いと思いました。何より、西洋の剣士に伝わる互いに剣による挨拶(剣の持ち手を十字架の様に持つ) 礼式は感動しましたね。
私自身、ヤン•ウェンリー大将の台詞から学ぶことが多くあり、人生の参考にしています。
旧作は環境とラストへの流れを心が受け入れる準備ができていないので。見てません。
リメイク版は曲も良くて私的には満足です。

旧作の方が詳しかったから、大雑把過ぎる。時間と予算、人員が無いから内容薄すぎ。品質も低すぎる。低評価です。これならば、続編を作った方が良かったのでは？

キルヒアイスを失った時のラインハルトの取り乱し様は新作の方がよかったと思う
わかりやすい記号といわれてもあそこで涙まで流す事により、ひとりの人間としてなにを永遠に奪われたのかが強く印象に残る
旧作だと帝国軍最高司令官としての節度の範疇での嘆きみたいな大成した大人の態度に見えて、まだ21歳の青年でしかないラインハルトの素の部分が出ていない感じに見える
新作の演出で声が堀川氏だったら言う事無しの出来栄えだったんだけど
