Hey Dylan, I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to upgrade my 2000 Toyota tundra. A few day ago I bought a color-matching (Burgundy) high-rise canopy with build in wooden bed platform and drawer. I got lucky. Got a great deal for it. Can't wait use this fall and winter and all of next year for camping and fishing. Keep at it with the great videos you've been posting. Looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing and for all that you do. Side-note- Really surprised you only have 2.82k subscribers, you'll be at 10,000 soon by then end of year. Then 100,000 next year. Stay optimistic.
Thank you so much James! Pretty cool to know I have inspired you and I hope you have many awesome trips in the future! Really appreciate the kind words and thanks for the motivation 👍
This is one of the best truck camping set up I've seen. I'm actually looking at a Toyota Tacoma & you gave me some really great ideas if I go the truck camping route. thanks for posting this video !
Hey D! Great seeing you again. It's been awhile. I can really appreciate you taking time, before you posted this video. You really went all out with the camper upgrade. Luv it! What I like the most is that you have much more head space. Definitely a good thing. And I love the new cover-top shell for your truck. It's really solid and the extra small windows are nice. Of course the guy knew who you were. You're a household name. Don't u forget it. 😉 As always, looking forward to more videos. Ur the man! 👍
That’s an awesome new setup Dylan. It’s all good if it’s a little longer, you rigged it up very nicely. You will enjoy that for sure. Glad the topper is carpeted already, it does make hanging stuff easier with Velcro. I’m so excited for ya and look forward to your new adventures with it. I use the OneTigris cot. Thanks for sharing your new setup with us. Have a wonderful evening my friend.
I Love that camper shell with the door. That would make it easier for this old guy to get in and out of my truck bed. I’d have to figure out how to insulate the interior because of our cold nights here in our very mountainous area of north central Washington state. When I was young I’d pitch a tent on top of the snow and camp that way, but I’m just too old for that now. I would have preferred an access cab, but our 115# chocolate lab wouldn’t fit and our parents are aging, so we opted for the double cab. The 6’ bed was mandatory as it’s too hard to sleep in a truck with a 5’ bed and we use our TRD for light work around our mountain property and play.
I love it! Funny how after you told us what all you keep in the truck, not much in here really..you have plenty in there. You could actually hang tarps off the sides of the hatch. Have a good little sitting spot, cooking space in the rain.
Cool set-up, if you need a higher bed build a cabinet under your bed out of 3/8" plywood and 1"x2" fir strips. You'll be higher up and have extra storage space.
Nice upgrade Dylan. As far as the higher cot, you might want to reconsider that. I have a Leer 180 topper which has the roof raised up in the back for more head room. I started with a high cot in it and had to bend my head down to sit on it. I actually went to a low cot after I started watching your videos and saw your setup. I just use low height large plastic storage bins which slide right under this cot I got from Wally World.
I use a Camp Time Roll a Cot. It’s 67” long. Love it!! It even fits sideways in my Ram. It does fit over wheel well since it doesn’t have a middle leg.
Hey Bo, maybe add some risers of some sort to that cot...and put 3 to 4 low profile small totes or 2 longer ones maybe...just my .02... God Bless brother!
Nice job on the setup. Really like how you adjusted the truck bed to fit the camper shell. Like the skylight and lift up door (great for cooking in the rain or snow) and man door. So functional for camping. I’d build a platform for a bed if it were mine. But if you want to go over the wheel well couldn’t you just use some blocks to build it up high enough?
Mainly for extra head room as there wasn't much in the tacoma. If I had a full size truck probably I would have had plenty. Also the camper shell was a good deal 👍
I like it... Really cool shell. I live In Indiana, but have a camper. I preffer boondocking if you'd like to share any locations!? Indiana don't have alot.
I feel like you may be safer in this hard top. Your opinion? Can you build a sleeping cot to include the top of the wheel well? That way you would have some storage sleep on top of that foam stuff and still have the head room you are wanting? I like the new hard top hope it works out well for you!!
@@DylanDelong I think that is a great idea with the reflectic on the bottom of the truck bed. I will definitely copy your idea for my truck bed…warmer feet!!!!..warmer camper!!!!
Great set up! And I’m sure it’ll give you a better sense of security as well, more headroom is good too… ps what about making a bench for under your bed and can be used for extra storage as well 🤷♂️ looking forward to more vid Dylan 🤙🏻🇨🇦
Thank you! I agree it will be a lot more secure as well. I will probably end up with a platform so I can have extra storage. Thanks for the ideas and for watching 👍
They are the best tires I’ve ever bought. Better than Ko2’s. I’m a Falken guy for life now! Highly recommend! Here in Hawaii it rains a lot so the extra traction is super great.
I just found your channel recently and really dig the content, great job it's inspiring. I saw some videos before with a softopper, how did you like that? Would you recommend them even after having a hardshell? I am interested in due to a lack of storage for a hard shell and for the need to take it off and on potentially to haul things.
Thank you very much, Jamie! I absolutely still recommend the softopper! It's the way to go when it comes to storage and needing to have full access to the truck bed. If you need anything else let me know!
No offense man, but looking at it, especially the tail end, the first thing that comes to mind is one of those vehicles used in funerals😅.. I'm sorry for saying it
Respect for your channel it's pretty chill I came for the soft topper. Sadly it's gone, good luck for your channel.
Thank you. If you need any help with the softopper definitely let me know! 👍

Love this topper with its rear walkthrough door and skylight window! Great setup, young man!
Thanks Chuck! 👍

Nice setup Dylan! Being a bigger boy, you need more headroom and now you have it. Keep the vids coming, man.
Thank you! Plenty more to come 👍

Top looks too long for truck. Why did you go with that?

Thank you! I just might end up doing this. Really appreciate your input 👍
Ha, there you are...Good to see your new setup!
Nice to see your upgrades to the camper shell
I was wondering when you were going to do that! Congratulations!!! Awesome video!
Thanks Rick!! Really appreciate you watching 👍
Great Job!! Looking forward to the test run. Much more comfortable with the added head room.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it as well 👍 can't wait!

Thank you! Really appreciate the information on the higher cot. I might consider a platform for the bed instead or stick with a lower cot 👍
Nice setup. The extra headroom will make camping more enjoyable. Cool that you met a subscriber too.
Thank you! I agree 👍
Wow the camper looks amazing and talk about head room I can really see the difference 👍 Looking forward to see what is coming next🤩Thanks for Sharing
Thanks so much Cheryl! Can't wait to do plenty of trips with this camper 👍
I love you and your videos Dylan. You are amazing 🙂
Thank you!

I have been considering the roll-a-cot. Thanks for your input 👍
Softtopper was sweet but that's an awesome upgrade!
Thanks buddy! 👍

What made you want to change from the soft topper?
Mainly for extra head room as there wasn't much in the tacoma. If I had a full size truck probably I would have had plenty. Also the camper shell was a good deal 👍
I like it... Really cool shell. I live In Indiana, but have a camper. I preffer boondocking if you'd like to share any locations!? Indiana don't have alot.
Thanks Craig! I'm not located in Indiana, but the camper shell I purchased was there. 👍
Very Nice!! I really like it.
Thanks so much!!

Definitely a bit safer Chris. Yes I will most likely try to make some sort of platform over the wheel well. Thanks so much!!
Very cool setup…Looks great, and more headroom for sure!!!!
Thanks Brent! 👍

@brent1387 yes I learned from last winter haha. Hopefully it will be much warmer
look at camp time roll a cot it has no center leg it will go over the finder well
Thank you! 👍

Throw some Falken wildpeak AT3’s on there! I just bought them
How do you like them? Looking at getting some new tires soon

I like the new set up man!
Thank you so much! 👍
Dylan is that a different truck than what you had. Can't tell please let me know. Very nice setup, really enjoy your channel....Thanks
This is the same truck with a different camper shell. Thanks so much!

Hi.Dylan
Hi 👋
Nice!
Thanks!
👋
No offense man, but looking at it, especially the tail end, the first thing that comes to mind is one of those vehicles used in funerals😅..
I'm sorry for saying it
I understand haha! Never thought of it that way but I can see what you mean 👍
Nice setup!! How are your curtain rods mounted?
Thanks!! Using some small pipe clamps and the existing screws that hold the window frame together
Thank you. I’m getting my camper topper tomorrow and want to install some curtains in it.
@@simple_man_jb no problem! Hope you have fun with your new topper!
What part of Ky? I’m from around bowling green/lousiville
Eastern part of Ky. Not too far from you 👍
Did you upgrade to this for the headroom?
Yes 👍
Do you live in your truck full time?
Not full time I'm only able to get out on the weekends after work for now 👍
👋👍👍👍👍
