Jeena Yaha Marna Yahaa Iske Siva Jana Kaha, only this opening stanza has been written by shailendra he could not complete the song because he was terminally ill n was in a hospital....n he tragically passed away at the age of 43... but his son shailly shailendra later on completed the song! amazingly in a same to same manner as shailendra himself would have done!

Mr Bhardwaj ji, First time I have watched this episode on Kaviraj Shailendraji;, GUIDE Song of Holi ..piya tosay naina la ga ra.It's my thoughts that most outstanding song's were picturize on Actress Waheeda ji ..Paan kayah saiyan hamaar , Mare gaaya Gulfam ..& Ofcourse Raj Kapoor..but the reality fact is Raj Kapoor never paid the Kaviraj the monetary gains Kaviraj deserved..nither the Hindi film Industry honored him when he was alive...A real poet no other lyricist writers can compete with him till date..

Yes Mr Aarez Mohammed, Shailendraji never got to complete the Joker song as he was seriously ill & two days before he had the heart attack Raj Kapoor had gone to visit him when Raj Kapoor heard about the illness.but still inquired about when will Kaviraj will finish the lyricist. It was his youngest son who ultimately wrote the second & third lyrics.

Kavi Shailendra, real name was Shanker Dad. When he began writing songs, he himself changed his name to Shailendra, as Shanker name was already of Shankerji one of the music director due Shanker
Jaikishan. Raj ji Shankerji n Jaikishanji all asked kaviraj Shailendra ji to change his name.
Since Shanker means Almighty Shiva. Similarly Shailendra also means Shiva. Shailendra also means highest peak that is Shiva
Kailash. Since his younger brother's name was Kailash hence he chose Shailendra, another name of Shiva. Thanks.

One of the best lyricists/poets of this country...SHANKARDAS KESARILAL's pen name was SHAILENDRA, a name he used much before he met Raj Kapoor. Raj called him Kaviraj....JAAG DARD E ISHQ was written by Rajinder Krishanji..JEENA YAHAN MARNA YAHAN was penned by his son, SHAILY SHAILENDRA..& to top it all, Majroohji did write the opening lines, but it was HASRAT JAIPURIji who completed the song..Please correct such mistakes.
Also, all songs of Barsaat were not written by Shailendra. Most of them were written by Hasrat Jaipuri

Sir Bhardwaj, Kaviraj wrote only Two songs for second Raj Kapoor fillm which was BARSAAT. Other 6 songs we're written by lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri ..One was the Title song Barsaat main hum say mila tum sajan ..and the other was Patli Kamar hai..paired with Actor Premnath ...
Dunia bananewale was written by Hasrat Jaipuri so far as my knowledge goes.

Anarkali Song presented in the programme was Actually written by Rajinder Krishan ji and not by Shailendra ji. Also another song of Teesari Kasam was actully completed by Kavi Hasrat ji and not Kavi Shailendra ji.
Mr Bhardwaj, The song which is also included in this episode is from the Old Hindi movie ANARKALI sung by Hemant da the lyricist is written by C Ramchandra..I think..but Kaviraj did write two songs for Anarkali..Dua Kar gama dil & one more which presently I can't recollect

Duniya Bananewale was written by Hasrat Jayapuri. It was the only song he asked his friend to write for his film.

There are several mistakes in this program. The name Shailendra was not given by Raj Kapoor. Poet Shailendr was very famous before meeting Raj Kapoor. "jag darde ishq jaag' was not written by Shailendra.
Many songs of Shailender were stolen and were presented by others as theirs or these are wrongly named for others l
