Honestly one of my favorite pj songs ever. Amazing album too. This song is so beautiful inside and out. The ending is so great let mike carry you away and let Eddie take you home.
Such a beautiful song. Eddie wrote it from the POV of missing a loved one who has died. He used to dedicate it to his good friend Johnny Rambone, from the punk rock band, The Ramones. The best performance of it, imo, is from Verona, 2006. I love Pearl Jam, and it’s so wonderful to watch someone get to know this remarkable band and appreciate how they’ve evolved over the years. As you’re discovering, Eddie pours his heart and soul into every single performance, and his voice has only gotten richer and deeper as he’s gotten older.
