I just got into MSU for poli sci. Did you get accepted to MSU? If so, did you attend? And if so, how do you like it? Sorry for all of the questions lol, just trying to balance my options :)
@@Sam-0735 Yes, I am at MSU :) I really enjoy it and it’s been a great so far! I actually ended up in James Madison not in poli sci so I can’t give much insight there. But definitely encourage touring to get the vibe cause I knew it was a really big campus but didn’t realize how big until I got here. (I applied during Covid so I didn’t get to tour) I also am a KAPi member now lol
I will add a couple things that have changed since this video is that since Covid the cafeterias don’t do to go boxes anymore but combos are now as many times a day you want and you get 12 for the week.
I will be attending MSU this fall as a freshman and I'm super nervous, scared, and excited all at once and these videos are so helpful, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Hope to see you on campus one day if you'll still be there!

I got accepted to MSU for fall 2022!!! This video is really helpful in choosing a neighbourhood!! Thankyou!! I have a few doubts, I hope you see this comment and answer them! 1. I'm a Computer Science major and I want to live as close to the classes as possible cuz I'm lazy😝?

@Francesca Dishueme Hey, I’m a newly admitted student and will be attending the James Madison college this fall, if you did decide to attend how did it go for you?
Loved this video and I can’t wait until the fall at MSU (hopefully)! Also does MSU have bike storage on campus? Do people usually keep their bikes outside during the winter? Or would you recommend somehow storing your bike in your room?
thank you!! :) they have bike rooms/storage inside the dorms i’m pretty sure like in williams hall it’s in their basement! and i’ve seen people leave them outside in the winter but they just get covered in snow and forgotten about 💀 i’ve never used the bike room (i always walked) BUT i would recommend that option over taking it to your room unless that makes you more comfy (but dorm rooms are already cramped and it’s you and your roommate)
Welcome to the MSU family!! 💚 I’ve had my bike stolen (TWICE) so I’d recommend a U lock and one of those flexible ones if you can only store your bike outside. Otherwise campus is super safe!

Theresa not gonna lie, i never had a car while being at MSU but there’s a parking lot at williams. you can only park there on the weekends if im remembering right. but if you’re a freshmen, you can’t have a car on campus. williams and owen hall are the only halls that have permanent singles. whereas in the other dorms, if you wanted a single you’d have to buy out the other bed. but again, if you’re a freshmen you have to have a roommate and can’t have a single. you’re totally fine! don’t even apologize. ask as much as you want! :)

It’s good from everything I know. There’s a lot of resources to take advantage of. But I was a journalism major though, so that’s out of my field. MSU in general is a great school
when are you thinking of transferring? it’s ok to be unsure! i hope with whatever decision you make you have a great college life + make amazing memories❤️
@@kennedyjene I’m thinking for fall 2021, I’m a freshman right now at the university of Hawaii at manoa and I just don’t know if island life is for me and my dad and I have been looking at Michigan state but he’s worried because he’s heard that it’s hard for poc because of racism :(
Hello, I’m considering for Masters in Computer science so just wondering how is Michigan state university for CS? Well I know university of Michigan is good but I can’t get into that with my grades I guess. So Is MSU great or should I consider some other universities in other states? Thanks for your time😊
MSU has a great computer science program. I think the whole engineering college is well-known. I’m a journalism major so I don’t have much information. But I would consider it! Good luck on your search :)
I'm on rolling admission because i had to take my SAT late... so... I am Dyinggggg to get admitted. I'm pretty sure Brody is full by now but my brother (gonna be a sophomore) is gonna be there😭😭😭. Lucky him.
how did it work out for you?!!! i am transferring there next month and a lil nervous ill have a hard time making friends since it’s already spring semester
If that’s an Eli Broad major, then Rivertrail, East, or South. South would be the furthest. Remember, no matter where you live, you have transportation options like bus or bike, etc.!
i was an out-of-state student but got to pay in-state tuition bc my dad was in the military. financial aid + FAFSA + grants helped me out a lot too! i would 10/10 recommend trying to find scholarships to apply to also (i wish i did that 😩)
i feel like the best neighborhood would be north, specifically mason hall bc it’s right across from the psych building. second choice would be shaw bc it’s in the middle of campus + bus station :)
@@kennedyjene oh snap back again ! when you lived in mason how was it? like look wise and bathrooms. Also were you apart of honors college? I’m thinking of accepting my invite but i don’t want to feel segregated from the rest of the campus
@@Davi-sm4ni i was not apart of the honors college but i don’t know anyone who felt “segregated” by being in it! mason/abbot is great! the bathrooms are cleaned by maintenance everyday so you really don’t run into issues. sometimes you’ll see nastiness but it’s bc you can’t control everyone in the hall (some people don’t have home training and it shows) but overall can’t complain about my time there!
idk i just choose the dorm i wanted when it was time to choose lol the only dorms available when i was choosing were Mason and Hubbard. so i choose Mason lol I was also undecided when i first came to MSU so i’m not sure if that had anything to do with where i lived
Hello, idk if you're still answering questions about MSU, but I got accepted and am planning on going this upcoming fall so uh. Do you know how the LGBT scene is there? I identify as nonbinary and gynesexual [I'm afab, and I like girls], and was wondering if you know if they're judgemental about that kind of stuff? I'm appreciate any info you have on that... thanks 👀
The community at msu isn’t judgmental or bad as far as i know. my friends who are apart of the LGBTQ+ community all had a good experience at the school. there’s always anxiety that comes with different situations or places but overall i think msu is good! there are different clubs to choose from too! like PRIDE POC, TransAction and Spectrum MSU
@@kennedyjene Thank you so much for responding! That definitely makes me feel a lot better, and I'll definitely be looking into the clubs and stuff 😁 thank you for your help
Depends on the questions lol Reddit and google are helpful. I could try to help but i graduated last year so i don’t keep up with everything that’s happening
Like I don't have anyone in msu to ask my doubts to .. just wanted to know is it a better choice then Arizona state university for economics and what about the cold weather there ?
@@rainyjain-k7r I’m not sure about economics and how the courses are. I was journalism major so i can’t tell you if our program is better than ASU. But i’m sure MSU has a great program! The weather... can be extreme. the winter is no joke lol you get used to it but you’ll need the right jacket, shoes etc. I’m from NC so i wasn’t prepared at all 😂
I was an average high school student. I got a 1300 on my SAT, a 24-26 range on the ACT, 3.0 or so gpa? if i’m remembering right lol MSU is definitely a PWI but diverse. I didn’t have fun all the time bc it’s school hahaha but i loved my time there

@@kennedyjene ah thank you so much! I finally settled on GVSU (grand valley) due to the more affordable out of state tuition! And more fitting lifestyle to mine. I really appreciate the reply tho!
no problem!! hope your school year is great! enjoy GVSU 🥳 (it’s a quality choice too)
what neighborhood/dorms would be the best for Computer Science majors??
definitely south neighborhood
This is so helpful!!
happy i could help! :)
Thank you so much... I’m a sophomore in high school and I really want to go to MSU because I’m in love with how pretty the campus is
Hiiiii question do you think the school spirit will be the same in the fall or will that take a couple years after COVID dies down
ua-cam.com/video/MiHUbRSMTek/v-deo.html
Heyy! I know I am late, but do you know anything about the journalism major at MSU. (BTW ily and you are so pretty)
Hey! Thank you so much! That was my major actually lol if you have any specific questions, feel free to DM me on insta!
@@kennedyjene Thank You so much!
hey, first lemme just say your videos are great and I'm so excited about being a spartan fall 2021 but I wanna know do freshmen have to live on campus or can I just live off-campus in an apartment or so. THANK YOU, GO GREEN
aw thank you so much 🥺 GO WHITE! as a freshmen, yes you have to live on campus. it’s part of the whole experience! :)
Just graduated from MSU!!
Haley Schultz omg congrats!!! 🥳🥳
So I was reading and I thought Freshmen only got to go to the East Neighborhood. How does choosing the dorms work?
depends on what major you are. if you’re undecided, you can choose anywhere. idk how it works now with covid though
but freshmen aren’t just in east neighborhood
Is it possible to land a fat scholarship with a 1250 SAT and over a 3.8 gpa?
Possibly? There’s a lot of different scholarships you can apply to, it’s just all about searching + finding the right ones
i’m living in brody for my first year everyone has been telling me it’s the greatest 💀
What is the weather like? I've never been past DC.
winters get SUPER cold, nothing like DC winters so if you go def invest in a good parka + snow boots :)
@@kennedyjene lol thank you Im going from florida weather to michigan weather
@@rcx2699 oh florida 😩 you’re about to be shook lol but other than the cold/snow, the other seasons are nice and ok! & np!
not you saying that wonders is haunted & i’m about to live there 2 years
How is Computer Science at MSU? And how is MSU in general?
It’s good from everything I know. There’s a lot of resources to take advantage of. But I was a journalism major though, so that’s out of my field. MSU in general is a great school
So can we bring mopeds as a freshmen?
Hailey Ruiz yes, you can have moped! literally everything but a car
Cool thanks
Just don’t drive it when it’s snowing and wear a helmet. Seriously. Wear. A. Helmet.
thanks very helpful
Im thinking of transferring im so unsure right now so thank you for this
when are you thinking of transferring? it’s ok to be unsure! i hope with whatever decision you make you have a great college life + make amazing memories❤️
@@kennedyjene I’m thinking for fall 2021, I’m a freshman right now at the university of Hawaii at manoa and I just don’t know if island life is for me and my dad and I have been looking at Michigan state but he’s worried because he’s heard that it’s hard for poc because of racism :(
I’m attending in the fall, I’m nervous
congrats! it’s ok to be nervous, hope your time is great! go green :)
Thought about goin here since I graduate hs early next December and play basketball but I live in ct 😬
wherever you decide to go, i hope your college years are great!
@@kennedyjene thank you 🙏🏽
I just got accepted into MSU and I'm scared I'll have to pay a lot of money any tips?
FAFSA + financial aid + scholarships!!! and if you have the time, job!! :)
I'm on rolling admission because i had to take my SAT late... so... I am Dyinggggg to get admitted. I'm pretty sure Brody is full by now but my brother (gonna be a sophomore) is gonna be there😭😭😭. Lucky him.
omg good luck!! hopefully you can join him at msu!! sending you positive vibes!! :)
Thank youuu, I mean for some reason MSU is the only university I am this hyped about... 🤣🤣🤣It's not normal
@@kennedyjene I GOT INNN!!! I had to update you soooooo yeah...
Neyna Orji omg 😭 CONGRATS!!!! happy for you :)
@@kennedyjene Thank youuuuuuuu
I live in freaking West Africa so... all this Covid stuff is killing me ATM
stay safe!! 😩 all of this stuff is crazy
thank u .. i enjoyed the video and it was helpful .. but what about the rates?
“in-state freshmen Tuition and fees (12-18 credits per semester): $14,524.
Room and board (double room/silver meal plan): $10,522”
all of this information is on msu’s website and all about how financial aid works etc :)
@@kennedyjene thank u .. and i really enjoyed ur videos i wish u post every week :)
new videos coming soon, i promise!
i'm transferring to MSU next semester. Do you think I will miss out on much since i'm coming in kinda late
dont worry! i don’t think you’ve miss out on much or anything at all, especially with covid happening!
how did it work out for you?!!! i am transferring there next month and a lil nervous ill have a hard time making friends since it’s already spring semester
best dorm to live in as a business major? (freshman) thanks!
East or Rivertrail i would thing? Shaw is pretty much right next to the Business college
I go to State.
I got admitted into msu. What about management program in msu?
If that’s an Eli Broad major, then Rivertrail, East, or South. South would be the furthest. Remember, no matter where you live, you have transportation options like bus or bike, etc.!
we're you in state or out of state? i was accept out of state but i don't want the extra cost to not be worth it
i was an out-of-state student but got to pay in-state tuition bc my dad was in the military. financial aid + FAFSA + grants helped me out a lot too! i would 10/10 recommend trying to find scholarships to apply to also (i wish i did that 😩)
so i’m a freshman who’s majoring in psych do you have like an idea of what dorms i should look into to save myself the journey? 🤝
i feel like the best neighborhood would be north, specifically mason hall bc it’s right across from the psych building. second choice would be shaw bc it’s in the middle of campus + bus station :)
@@kennedyjene thanks for the speedy reply i’ll look into the housing options for them ☺️
@@Davi-sm4ni no problem! enjoy your time at msu & good luck :D
Is a SAT score of 1340 enough to get in?
yeah, i had the same score & got in 😂
Thanks for responding.
Does msu superscore?
no problem! & i’m pretty sure they do
i got in with 1210 so you should be good! good luck :)
@@sarahferet what were your stats for high school as a whole??
haha, i’m a senior and idk the fight song either 😭
i’m glad i’m not the only one 😂😂
how did you get to live in north neighborhood?
idk i just choose the dorm i wanted when it was time to choose lol the only dorms available when i was choosing were Mason and Hubbard. so i choose Mason lol I was also undecided when i first came to MSU so i’m not sure if that had anything to do with where i lived
I'm appreciate any info you have on that... thanks 👀
The community at msu isn’t judgmental or bad as far as i know. my friends who are apart of the LGBTQ+ community all had a good experience at the school. there’s always anxiety that comes with different situations or places but overall i think msu is good! there are different clubs to choose from too! like PRIDE POC, TransAction and Spectrum MSU
also congrats on getting accepted :) go green
oh! and there’s spiral which is a fun gay club/bar in Lansing! i never got to go but all my friends LOOOOOVED it
@@kennedyjene Thank you so much for responding! That definitely makes me feel a lot better, and I'll definitely be looking into the clubs and stuff 😁 thank you for your help
Hey I got admitted to msu.. I really have so.many ques how can I solve my queries
Depends on the questions lol Reddit and google are helpful. I could try to help but i graduated last year so i don’t keep up with everything that’s happening
congrats on getting accepted!! 🥳
I’m from NC so i wasn’t prepared at all 😂

here’s a link to the economic major program
you missed campbell hall!
oops- thank you for pointing that out lol i don’t know how i forgot campbell when i literally lived next to it 😩😂
What was your stat?
I'm going this fall of the 2022 semester
Congrats!! 🥳
I’m a sophomore in high school and I live in Michigan and I really wanna go to msu. Is it diverse? Do you have fun all the time? What were your stats?
I was an average high school student. I got a 1300 on my SAT, a 24-26 range on the ACT, 3.0 or so gpa? if i’m remembering right lol MSU is definitely a PWI but diverse. I didn’t have fun all the time bc it’s school hahaha but i loved my time there
Same I’m gonna be a senior and I live in Michigan I also pray I get accepted
Im a freshman in high school what am i doing here
enjoying the content + future research 🥳
U still in Lansing?
