Just completed it, 2 people in my lobby crashed out, someone's div stopped working properly, barrier champs were drifting out of their bubbles, and I lost the ability to sprint properly partway through.
This is the most fun I've had since we had the 12 person raid glitch back in Season of the Chosen.

I’m surprised it didn’t go worse. The game feels like it could implode at any second whenever I do regular Excision.
I got error coded Many Times
At one point my team started focusing on subjugators. I actually felt my brain getting smooth with all the effects going on.
Day 1 excision booted me 4 times because of how taxing it was on the game engine. It was a barely playable mess and it was incredible, truly a microcosm of the franchise

I was here thinking, "They'll probably be very lenient with revives or maybe take away extinguish for 12 people since it's so chaotic" but nope they just went pure chaotic and I love it
Its grandmaster difficulty. I wouldn't expect them to make it any way easy

@@austinlizarraga4165 there's no supers on the Witness fight part. You only get supers at the very beginning, when capturing the plates.
Something tells me Bungie is gonna bring in mass clan raid style endgame content.
Folks, if you thought regular raid lfg is bad. Just wait when we have to coordinate something twice the size.

excision can barely handle the 12 with absolute minimum mechanics and *stuff* bungie code could never handle 12 man raids consistently, not without a full rework of their engine and networking

The funniest part is he’s gonna use the most obscure loadout of all time to do it too.

TBH it was probably easier for him than Dual Destiny. No forced multiplayer mechanics, no engagement cutoff or wipe mechanic. Just time, and patience. And an Invisible Hunter.

IT WAS AWESOME! GM excision was so chaotic, me and the guys were just laughing at how ridiculous the add density/toughness was. We had to handle the adds together and travel together to each plate, It was a really cool experience.
The ad density etc would be fine if the damn activity didn't act like the game was about to explode. I just had the worst lag, enemy health regenerating mess of an experience imaginable
@@oxsilaThat's part of the experience. It's the reason you only want to do this once, but also the reason that first experience is so hilarious. You can feel the game about to crack in front of you and just persevere through the shit being thrown at you.
@@oxsila I think they did this to stress test how much can the current game engine handle before it fucking disintegrates. They dont want this to be a regular thing which is why the rewards aren't something crazy. They want people to give it a shot and that's about it. I think that with a proper upgrade to detiny's infrastructure they could maybe do more 12 man activities. So this is a nice mixup of what we are usually used to
@@oxsila I see you weren't around the last time we managed to cram 12 players in an instance back in Season of the Chosen. Destiny's networking and engine really struggle to handle that many players even in "normal" encounters like shoving 12 people into Taniks.
And yeah, 2 players crashed out of my lobby, one guy's div magically stopped working, barrier champs were drifting out of their bubbles like it was Initial D, and I lost the ability to sprint partway through. It was buggy as hell. Great fun still though.

This looks so fun. You definitely get an escalating damage bonus as the phases go - I think it HAS to be a 3phase, and the 3rd phase lasts until you kill him. But look at how much they did in phase 3 it was over half its health. You just have to get to that phase basically and survive until then.

Agreed. I think this is how they can slowly transition the game into a more authentic MMO experience in some ways. Massive raids and slower gameplay. Will be interesting to see if it moves in that direction. I’m happy to see they are trying new things. This feels like the first time they have really made the game feel significantly different than the perma ad kill gameplay which don’t get me wrong is fun, but seeing them try something new is cool.
Going full-MMO in any way that requires actual comms will 100% tank the game. Destiny has allowed solo play for so long that moving away from that will drive players away, not change their playstyle. Maybe if they do a Destiny 3 they can build it with that expectation. But Destiny 2? A mintory of players engage with group content, forcing it will kill the game.
@@samocken340 I wouldn't mind seeing 12-man super raids be a thing. Instead of having to figure out mechanics, they're told to you and the hard part is dealing with the amount of spam that gets thrown at you. It's what Onslaught should've been.
Fits with leaks from before TFS even got delayed, saying there was going to be a 12-man mission post raid and that it was going to be a test for future 12-man activities. I imagine one of the activities during either Episode: Revenant or Episode: Heresy will be a 12-man thing.

It's better than playable! It comes with the bonus of being able to fry an egg on your PS4 while playing!
PS4 pro managed pretty well tbh, didn’t make any noise and only had frame dips when a lot of abilities were being spammed
My slim handles it fine enough, issues happen being in the middle of super and ability spams, but it just a couple dropped frames, I tend to hang back and use rockets or pulse

My 1st fire-team finder crew got it done. At one point there was like 4-5 of us down with no revives left and a few sweaty 11's pulled us from the brink. The enemies in there got some major league beef on them.
Lucky. Furthest I've gotten is DPS1 and that was my first team. My other best team dropped like flies to the right side of the witness arena... Even though we already killed the right tormentor. I spent like 15 minutes 1v1ing the tormentor while we slowly dropped from 8 people on the right all the way down to 0. People are way too focused on killing champions to revive people at any cost in my lfgs...

@@Mattblaze1477 I think I'll just wait until I and/or the general playerbase is closer 2020 power level. It'll be a huge difference if people aren't getting oneshot by taken balls Because currently they get an average of 5 kills on the attempts I've played. I'm sure the activity isn't going anywhere.

"Destiny is not built for this level of tomfoolery" - some rando I was playing this activity with. Also played this activity while listening to "With Hearts Aligned" from FFXIV and it heightened the experience.
12 man Outbreak would be wild
So i did this with randoms. If you know how it works, its well doable. The hardest part is the first plate because you get shot by mobs from all 3 plates and Overloads keep coming into your group. Champions keep spawning and you can collect up to 20 Revives.
So after you are done with the first part, the second is actually easier. Kill the 2 big tormentors from the middle and dont ever leave it. Collect 20 revives during the process before dps. Collect the 16 light. first 2 dps phases are not that important, use them to get used to the beam dodging. Stay in the back middle and watch either his left or right hand coming to the plate, the beam goes diagonally from that. wait until the beam is gone, then run to the spot where the beam was, and its safe.
Did it with a no comms LFG team a couple of minutes ago. Cool mission. I sleep now

I feel like this is kinda meant to test if the consoles or servers can handle 12 man activities so it could be a possibility
If youre struggling with revives: You can 321 the revives and use one token for up to 6 people. At the final dps a barrier spawns right and left over and over. You can have 2 people on token duty to pick up the people that die during dps just going back and forth between the barriers with Outbreak. Also makes killing the champs easier because less people shooting them stops them from bugging out.

This activity GM was so much fun honesty. Horrible and broken, patently untested (probably by design lol), and sets your PC on fire. It’s been so long since I enjoyed myself to much.

This is amazing. Chaos, bugs and jank included. This type of chaos is what destiny is about glad they aren't scared of technical difficulties and willing to try stuff like this anyways.

I can't wait for somebody to try the whole Witness-fighting squence in some kind of challenge - 4 sets of 3 doing the final campaign mission on Legendary, fusing into 2 groups of 6 for a hardmode raid, into one deeply exhausted team of 12 whacking their head into GM Excision. A terrible idea.

Our crew just did the base version of the 12 man and while we enjoyed the fight man was it buggy. Constant Error codes and I got booted twice. Baboon and Beaver, gotta love em.
Was so happy that the LFG I ran this with was competent, but halfway through fighting the witness it felt like all of us were crashing out

I literally just finished my GM Excision. Holy shite, that was intense. Almost an hour and a half, but at least we did it first try.

it's really odd how the player connections are so good, and you can see everyone fluidly, especially in crucible, but as soon as you add enemies, the server just doesn't know what to do because everyone is seeing different things.
