I thoroughly approve of the quest for more fun. The cougar is one that I missed at the time, love the look of it. Statistically speaking I imagine based on zero evidence that the vast majority off RC car owners, who actually use their cars, including adults never join a club and have no plan to. I am genuinely looking forward to seeing how this cougar thing progresses. I loved your older video on the popalong GP where you talked about a portion for people to just turn up and play. No heats or a-finals whatever they are. If that existed near me I would be there often. £1000 technically incredible buggies on carpet kinda makes me a bit sad. I will stick to playing with my mardave meteor (bought new in the 80s) on the beach :)
Soldering tip. When joining two stranded copper ends, spread each end into a fan shape of individual strands, then join them and twist in opposite directions. Then add a little flux and solder them together. Not only will it be stronger, it will be a much better conductor! Very cool car, I always wanted one of these when I was younger!
There drive shafts and wing mount can be a pain, but once you know how. Its an easy job. Looking forward to seeing them both out on track. Ive still got a boxed classic to build, but ad ive allready got a few built, im in no rush 😎 have fun boys
I had multiple missing parts when I built mine (shock parts, few shims and the diff oil pot was dry) but I rang them up directly and once we worked out the part numbers they next-day'd all the missing bits to me :)
Nice video. Always encouraging to see seasoned RC’ers struggling with elements of the Cougar build! Those drive shafts take some getting the hang of! Watch the lay shaft when you run it as mine obliterated as it wasn’t seated right and I had to get the high speed gear set to replace (which is much better). Those C clips into the shocks were a nightmare but once the shocks are built they are lovely! Good luck running it
NIce build, great-looking buggy! The shorty holder definitely goes forward in the chassis, it's on my todo list for my Top Cat. Supposed to be better for the weight distribution but I guess I'll have to find that out for myself at some point? Good luck with the racing!
I almost bought one of these but a lot of reviewers had problems with the transmission failing and it out me off. I'm looking forward to seeing how yours goes. I am still tempted.
The Cougar Classic is a great buggy, but I highly recommend the pro transmission (U7600) upgrade (as well as getting hex hardware from e.g., Screwz4RC).
Ummm, the way you put those wires together. It won't come apart, but there has to be a better way. Myself I've done that but with male and female cylindrical or bullet connectors. Many like to keep joins to a minimum in their wiring, but needs must. Good vid btw.

Wow awesome
Thanks buddy
We love the fun stuff too

Nice 👍🏻
Really like the look of this and it's a decent price, think I might add one to the collection cheers for the build video.
You’re welcome
One handed build.. love it 😅
UA-camr skills
When RC grabs hold, it can take you to some expensive places. That’s the best comment I’ve heard in years.😝
Sooooo true

Brilliant as usual lads.... Gotta love the vintage Schumachers
Top notch
Well done, Carl ✌ Always satisfying to finish a "vintage" Schumacher build as there are some challenging steps 😅 Can't wait to see it on track 🤝
Nice one guys, can’t wait to see you racing them ❤
Takes 2 to race
Hurry up Mark

I'd replace those philips screws with hex ones straight away, did with my m05 build.
The Schumacher vintage re-releases are brilliant cars. Loving mines.
You’re not wrong
That looked like a really nice build. Can't wait to see you two race each other with the same cars ;)
🐆🐆🐆
Woof woof
Great video again guys, would be great to see you do a Vintage Mardave Cobra rebuild one day👍👍
Already done it
Original Mardave Cobra build, we love it old school!

Really enjoying this channel and great build! How long did it actually take for the full Cougar build? Looking forward to the next video! 👍👍
I’m jealous, I want one.
So did we ….
Is that the one with the drive upgrade included? Looks very nice!😊

Let’s hope we don’t have any problems

Shame about the dud screw, but that happens. 😂
those 1060 esc's i burnt them out repeatedly, they said they are 3s capapble
We only ever run them on 2s
@@PopalongRC ahh see, the ebay ad used to say they are 3s capable, hence why i kept burning them out wasting precious money
Guy, you used the manual 🤮 how long did it take to build 3 hours ? 2.5? Got to love a cougar 🥰
Little longer as I was filming and editing along the way
Morning gents…
Morning buddy
