Blimey, not much of the original car left🤣🤣 Seriously, whatever anyone else thinks, so long as you're happy with it then that's all that matters. Personally I think it looks awesome!!
I also have V2 big bore shocks, but the top cap is a ball socket (instead of a bolt through cap like yours) and the ball-end bolt isn't long enough to add a stand-off...and without a stand-off, the shock is too close to the front shock mount which makes the shock touch the tie rods. I waiting on a response from my hobby shop to see if I can either get a longer ball-screw or a bolt-through shock cap. Also, the bottom spring stopper on the shock sits too low and touches the a-arm which interferes with the movement. I see the you have aftermarket a-arms which I assume eliminates this problem. Suggestions?
Nah,gavin. You're doing a great job with that vintage cougar. You actually need a much better track availability along with faster groups of guys. The car itself, drips capability...Its gorgeous, strong and tight looking. U need tracks where the car can really stretch her legs. The paint and overall looks are vicious..Its awesome gavin..Happy trails and good luck......thanx for the vi6
The front shock tower came from a guy on eBay UK. I contacted him an asked for a 3mm thick version. The carbon chassis came from www.jcracingproducts.co.uk/schumacher-carbon-chassis for the UK and if you are in the US, best to go direct to MSP RC facebook.com/profile.php?id=100085054200314
Gavin....sorry to bother you with this ...but what screw driver do you find is best fitted for the Schumacher builds as well as Tamiya.... any car that still utilizes the "Phillips style screw head" Thanks in advance Ed
Tamiya use JIS and Schumacher use Philips, so at a quick glance you would think these are the same but NOPE! If you mix them up you will be rounding off screws all over the place.
I will race it, just not film it. I raced it tonight. You have to remember, I am making content for the show l, so what I would do with my cars personally isn’t the same as what I do for content and story flow.
I can confirm schumacher know exactly what they're doing, specifically the MI and CAT series, I have a couple of their cars and they stand well apart from the crowd in a very obvious way, it's like a custom engineering vs stock feel.
Love this build. I've considered a few if these upgrades for my cougar but can't justify the price considering i haven't broken anything.....yet😬 I would built one from parts if i had my time again.
It's insane how expensive some of those little bits and pieces are, but completely understandable when machining and materials and so on need to be paid for. The important thing to remember is the satisfaction of the craftsmanship and an optimised the build for the hobby, and the fact that you can have just as much fun without all the extras.
How much was the front brace? - Cant see it on ebay? Also the front yokes - are they the same part / exact fit (just with it saying rascal) Have you changed the shim on the rear arms to a 1mm shim? reduces the toe in to about -1
Gavin why a black car I know those are like your colors red and black don't you think a Union Jack paint scheme would have been a little bit better and that spoiler all my goodness I need to get me a spoiler like that reminds me of a superbird body I haven't finished yet I took apart my car and I'd broke it I wasn't on purpose they're going to charge me a lot of money to fix my car money I don't have I like how you have the setup if it was me I would have just put the Union Jack but it looks nice from the side it looks sleek and modern😊 now I had to get me a Krueger classic got to try to keep up with the Kardashian/Evans I don't know I really been looking into a team associated mt-10 or a Max x Amore rc-10 or a Avanti magic smoke hmm 🧐 hollisid❤❤❤ cowboy
Nice overview - thank you! Two questions: 1. You did not (need to) use U7985 (LiPo post spacers) as you don't use standard shorties? LCG are longer and do not fit, do they? 2. Where on eBay did you purchase the damper cap protectors? Many thanks in advance!
Now once you have it set up nice for carpet, buy another and have them set up for each track surface 😂 i thought it was a great idea untill i kept tripping over them, they breed like rabbits 😂
You know your bitten by the RC Racing bug when your pulling parts off your shelf queens to put on the racecar. !!! Great Stuff
Blimey, not much of the original car left🤣🤣 Seriously, whatever anyone else thinks, so long as you're happy with it then that's all that matters. Personally I think it looks awesome!!
COOL CAR 👍👍
Great video on the upgrades
What a great looking buggy with some excellent upgrades! I wonder how many stock parts you still have on it?!? 😂
5 lol

how MUCH you paid for that wing and A arms? jeez
Did you notice any improvement with the aluminum bearing carriers on the gearbox sides? Do you have a link to them?
EBay search Schumacher Cougar , Topcat , Procat , Bosscat Aluminium bearing holders
Thats how you make an rc car IMO.
Oh yeah baby. Been waiting 2 days for this! 🙂
Do you have a link to,the front shock tower? Chassis? Thank you

Guy, nice ride. How much has it cost in total ? Can you drive it lol 😁 get yourself a SVC flysky receiver omg they are awesome
Yep I was racing it tonight.
What wing mount did you use on this?

Gavin, why spend all that money, to upgrading this car ,if you not goung to race ? Black wheels and wing look super hot. Nice video.

remembers me trying to build a Schumacher MI8 out of a SST 99 pro. Result: did not succeed as all parts ghad to be different :-)))

It was probably a slip of the tongue, but running the Yokomo rear wheels doesn't increase wheelbase, it increases the track.
Yep thats correct, that was a mistake.
That Classic is so sexy

I think that would have been a better way for me to go as well lol

Does anyone know where the flex wing mounts come from??

Message the guy on eBay as he will make you one. His name on Ebay is in the video.

To me All you need is a good servo and a good set of tires
That would make for a great video 🤔🙄
Sorry where did you get the shock tower protector from? want one for mine :)
The ones on the front shocks? You can get them off eBay
Very cool. It makes me want to buy lots of those upgrades as my cougar just sits on the shelf. I hope it would get me to go to my local track.
100% worth driving on a track, its a fun one to race for sure :) It will run well out the box really so give it a go.
Get this or kyosho dirt master turf silver can class?
I’d love a setup sheet
I’ve changed so much I’m not sure I can remember it all lol
That's sick, you have almost nothing left from the original Cougar Classic 🤪 It looks absolutely brilliant 👍 well done and thanks for sharing 🤩
Thanks 👍

Did I put U7985, it should be U7984 short alloy lipo posts. I run the extra thin battery so need the short posts.
