@@jonathanwieringa8808 due to way a turbo works, the bias between the intake and exhaust strokes is very different to an NA engine, as a result the cam profile needs to be very different to whats normally found in an NA engine additionally, the duration of those strokes is also massively different due to the much greater pressures generated by forced aspiration, as a result turbo cams are generally much smaller/skinnier than, and have a very different cam profile compared to NA cams for optimal performance (and in many cases to get really any performance out of them safely) hope that helps, take a look at the motortrend Cams for Turbocharged Engines blog post for a much more detailed explanation :)

I'm in the process (long one) to build NA RB20 with modded Renault conrods and pistons from a motorbike. It should rev up to 10.000 rpm with Tomei solid lifter kit and Tomei procam 270in / 260ext. It has been on hold for quite some time for... reasons... but man. Hearing this. It awakens the flame. Gotta get it moving
I had a Hakosuka i would drift in Forza Motorsports 4, sounded exactly like that. That sound gave me nostalgia. The sound design was so much better than the recent forza's.
@@anhiirr Rotaries are insane, but they are better for driving fast (where they do exceptionally well) rather than all-out drift builds because of peaky powerbands. Progressive powerband with more reserved power & torque wins out in that regard!

I find the engine/platform exceptional among eras etc bc of the various applications and settings locally the value aspect is based on the fact that the Rb20 wasnt domestically sold unless the car is solely for track use etc
Straight 6 is my favorite configuration, i pass on IS and GS because i wanted a manual, IS is hard to find in a manual, ultimately went with a 3 series, 6 speed manual and straight 6.
Hate to tell ya this Alexi, but these days RB's and 180SX's are classic Japanese vehicles/engines. They've gotten to that age now which is a bit surreal to think about

For N/A, if its between N/A ITB RB (relatively cheap) or N/A 2JZ (which you're lucky to get a few dozen hours out of), I know what I'd rather have.

The NA is gonna have less power, but it's gonna make up for that with better throttle response. Doubly so with the ITBs.
