Damini is a gem, intelligent, his genuine heart and love for you is palpable. Your Dinga's compound is absolutely stunning, the thatched houses are so beautiful. I can't wait to visit Kenya, one of the few African countries that I haven't visited. Africa doesn't need skyscrappers, nature at its best.

Lydia, thank you for sharing your traditions with us, particularly around marriage while balancing modernity. While I certainly speak for myself, I am sure others feel equally the same way. As descendants of slaves within the diaspora (Trinidad and Tobago/USA), it's very comforting to know how enriching our history is, and that all has not been lost colonization and time. I commend you and your husband for embracing your respective heritage and preserving those traditions.
