Thank you for acknowledging how awful this week has been, while continuing to send light out into the world. What a gorgeous, peaceful primary bathroom that will certainly bring comfort over this next period of time. Enjoy!!
It's been almost a week and I still cry occasionally but life goes on. I have avoided almost all social media for a while but now it's time to catch up on my UA-cam. I LOVE the gold mirrors in your remodel, everything feels so warm and inviting (which is maybe a weird thing to say about a bathroom).
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your channel. It’s like an old friend. You are so insightful and conscious about everyone’s feelings. And you were incredibly fair with your commentary. You’re absolutely right to think that your channel is an escape and we want to thank you for that. We will all put 1 foot in front of the other and pray daily. Thank you again many times over.❤
I am very grateful for this space to process and share my own feelings and to find amazing community with people like you, Sherri. We will get through this!❤️
Your bathroom Jen, is gorgeous, the colours all work so well, you can see that everything has been thought about, right down to the artwork, i love pictures, i love a big shower, and that is a big beautiful shower, next year we are putting in a new shower, and your right my husband said, you have to keep the pipe work where it is or the cost will rise, a lot, hope your have a lovely weekend xx
Thank you for being who you are, Jen! The outcome of this election was definitely devastating to us, but your resilience and honesty will always help your community go through it. What a beautiful bathroom! No 5 star hotel can measure up!
Monique truly I’m here and will keep speaking out and I’m so grateful for this community! And yeah you’re right - it’s the nicest bathroom I’ve ever been in anywhere! And it’s in my house!
The renovation is STUNNING! Every single detail is gorgeous. I'm so glad you're over the moon with the results. And you dealt with the "elephant in the room" very gracefully. Big hugs to all my American friends.
Thank you for mentioning "the elephant in the room". It's an invisible, heavy weight that a lot of us are carrying right now. Your new bathroom looks like a wonderful, peaceful place to enjoy. Thank you for sharing!
Jen, so happy to see your beautiful new bathroom! You are right that this week has been a crushing defeat, both nationally and state-wide for me in Missouri. I’m glad to see something refreshing and new. Love the window and the tub!
😅Jen your expression of sadness actually was helpful for me. I’m fighting each day to not sink into fear and negative thoughts. Just acknowledging how you feel is a giant step toward recovery. For now I’m staying off cable news but I will eventually be able to “move forward”. Enough of that I love your bathroom it’s so classy just like you.
The bathroom is gorgeous. I love the bathtub, the floor and the color of the vanity. Thanks for giving me a brief and much needed break from reality this week.
Completely share your feelings about the elephant from the other side of the pond in the UK. We sure do live in strange times. Keep the faith and look after yourself. Brighter days will come. The bathroom looks awesome.
I cannot get over this stunning finish...and also it's an elevated version of our own home interior style so it's inspiring me to schedule some upgrades for 2025.
15:55 lmao, I was literally going to comment it feels very modern Disney princess before you said that 😆 anyway, the whole space is truly beautiful! You and your designers did a great job! ✨
Wow! You’ve created a 5 diamond bathroom. Enjoy! Totally agree when renovating baths & kitchens the costs will almost double in any older home…I know I’ve completed 4 big redo projects in the last 20 yrs. 😎
I honestly am so glad we had a contractor who worked very hard to stay within our budget but stuff kept getting added in by somebody (I think it was me.)
One, thank you for addressing that. The more I hear from people, creators especially, who were also devastated, the less alone I feel in all of this chaos. Two, your bathroom came out incredibly - I adore the tub. We are almost 1 year removed from our home renovation, which was massive - we gutted half our house, added on to the first floor, and added a second floor to our slab ranch. The cost was astronomical, the stress was incredible, we had to move out entirely for 3 months and ended up living with my (truly, amazing) in-laws for that time. And much like your bathroom, the results just blew us away. It seems ridiculous to spend as much money as we did, until you take into consideration that moving into a comparable house would ultimately have cost even more than our home value + renovation - and after observing the market for years, we never saw anything we would have liked as much as what we had, let alone what we turned it into! We were so grateful to be able to stay where we were, and achieve our dreams. Cheers from my new living room, I look forward to a similar master bath renovation in a few years once we've forgotten how difficult it was to live with our initial renovation LOL
Your reasoning was so similar to ours! We contemplated selling but nothing I loved was under 2 million 😑. This was the way to go. We still have a couple more projects to do here but we love our lot and our neighbors and our mortgage rate so this worked best.
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge Yes, exactly! We did have to finance, but now we only have half a mortgage at last year's interest rates, rather than a full mortgage. It absolutely made the most sense for us in the long run.
Just beautiful ❤. I especially love the mixed metals, sconces and mirrors. And the fact that you retained the original window! Wishing you peace and a bit of bathroom tranquility as we slog through what feels like a suffocating heaviness. We are all so depleted.
The way they incorporated the window into the design so it felt new is one of my favorite things! And yes depleted is a great word. So we step back and recharge and continue the work. Which I’ve come to realize will never be done.
You may be feeling all the feels right now but you look gorgeous while going through it! And the bathroom is just wooooow! All the positive adjectives. I know you’re not sharing costs, which I wouldn’t expect but whatever it DID cost was well worth it!
Yeah let me just say there’s a reason we couldn’t even consider this until we had paid for the boys college. Renovations are so expensive! But yes I agree - worth every penny
I never thought a bathroom reno video could bring me such joy! 😂 I love mixed metals, so, bravo! Thank you for the distraction, even if it made me incredibly jealous 😉.
Aww Jen. Thank you for addressing the fact that many of us are struggling this week. I am actively avoiding all news stories and surrounding myself with comforting content, be it TV, books, UA-cam. Your renovation is just stunning! Surround yourself in the comfort and beauty they created for you.
I’m from Australia, many, many of us down here are devastated about Nov 6 and really feel for you all. On a positive note I absolutely love your bathroom and your videos in general, I can relate to most of them. I recently had a similar experience with my mum (minus the dementia), I’m into decluttering (SDC) and Disney too. We also travel a lot and even though I have my own travel routines in place I’ve gained some very useful tips from you, for which I’m grateful. If we want to leave our country almost every flight is long haul and we’ve done some epic ones, so your channel is perfect for me - lol. Keep smiling and staying positive.
Your new bathroom is absolutely stunning! I hope this space gives you the warm hug we all need. As for the election, just devastating. I always said during these crazy times “There are more of us than them”. Well I was wrong. And that hurts. To think that people could excuse who the man and the people who surround him are, is not acceptable. I will not. As a white woman, we let the black community down. They need to rest, protect themselves and we should ask nothing from them. I will always be grateful. Sending you love.
Breathtaking! Beautiful. Tranquil and serene without being boring. So good to have a spa-like retreat in your own home. Use it in good health and happiness!
Jenn your bathroom is so elegant and gorgeous!!! What a transformation! I too go to your channel for the peace and break from current events. Thank you for giving so many of us that respite. Xoxooxoxox
First, thank you for pushing thru and sharing your bathroom. We needed a distraction and this is a lovely one! SO glad for you that you ended up with the shower seat after all! It’s all beautiful ❤️
I am Canadian, and I live in Canada. On Tuesday night I was on a plane to Rome, and had jokingly said the I would be flying while the fate of the free world was decided. 34 years ago I was flying to London to live for 2 years, and while I was on the plane Gorbachev was overthrown, and I am not sure having Putin at the helm is not an example of how bad things can go. I feel for all the people in the US and I fear for the fate of the free world. Thank you for acknowledging what has happened and thank you for carrying on and providing us with content to enjoy. Keep Calm and Carry On❤️👍🏻👍🏻
@ i like you can only help but believe that it will be a rocky 4 years and then saner minds will prevail. I was on a Vatican tour the other day and I have to be a tiny bit careful how I comment or express my views, but a little 80 year old lady from Florida was telling me how much America needed Trump. She was a very well educated individual, but I moved to the other side of the group and took some very deep breaths. ❤️❤️. Take care.
I’m so glad you noticed that! I was truly shocked that they managed to make it look like a choice and not something we just had to live with. I love that window now!
Oh honey it’s gorgeous! Love your language of “jewelry of the room” with the mixed metals. Those sconces with the ribbed glass are drool worthy! Ands can we just take an extra moment for the art?! Next level for the mood! Love love love! ❤️
Oh my gosh - Jen! Your bathroom is perfect, I love everything you picked! The mirrors, tub, art, just everything - beautiful! Thank you for taking my mind off of this horrible time for a little while.
Absolutely share your feelings today. I'm trying to watch videos like yours to stay off regular media and away from the chaos that is brewing in our country. I worked as an election official in my town and it was soul-crushing to see my neighbors come in and know - without looking at ballots, just a sense, a look, a feeling - that they were voting for evil, willingly. I'm saddest for the loss in faith in my fellow Americans to always fight for this country with truth, kindness and actual policy decisions. I'm also heartbroken for the people of Ukraine, Gaza, anyone not white, male or Christian in this country. Millions are going to die as a result of this decision. It's unfathomable. My friends outside the U.S. are watching in horror as the greatest democracy the world has ever known crumbles into an authoritarian theocracy. But. We cannot give up. So please mention the elephant in the room. As Heather Cox Richardson said: "If we are to go down, I want to go down fighting. And if we are to rise again, we deserve a record of how we saved the country.
Thank you for working as an election official. The poll workers and people behind the scenes are the unsung heroes. I'm always so impress by their professionalism and commitment to democracy. This wasn't the outcome I wanted but, I'm not giving up. We will learn and be successful in the future. We have to be.
We ALL deserve a space in which to escape and recharge, especially now. I’m so happy for you and I’m thinking I’ve got some ideas for my upstairs bathroom!
Thanks for expressing your honest feelings. I have a question about an interior designer do they just create the design and don’t get product? Can you put in a range an interior designer can cost for a bathroom? I’m so glad to see this video I remember when ur first started talking about the remodel. Very happy for you and your husband
I think every designer works a little differently? In our case, the initial package was just the design and we had the option to add on them purchasing the products and overseeing the construction process. It was honestly so stress free doing it that way and I wouldn't tackle a big project any other way.
It turned out BEAUTIFUL! You and Scott so deserved this space to be able to relax, especially after dealing with a carpeted bathroom for so many years. 😂
Thank you thank you thank you Jen for your opening words! It is a difficult time and it’s so uplifting to know I’m not alone in feeling sad and disappointed. Love all your videos but this one is special. PS your bathroom is wonderful! ❤
Whoever installed the shower floor tile is a master! You can’t even see the difference in the the 12x12 mesh sheets. Usually, one area always shows. Bravo! Looks stunning.
It's beautiful!!!!! The art and the molding struck me first. Stunning. And this is coming from a snob that finds a lot of mainstream decor boring. Thank you for the intro and for all the work you put in. We are going to be alright. Stay encouraged. I have thrown myself into our finances and have instantly become a lot more frugal. 🤣
Oh my gosh me too! And my favorite thing about it? It’s unique and totally ours. I specifically said I didn’t want it to look like everybody else’s bathroom and they delivered!
Your bathroom is stunning! I love the trim and that beautiful window! Also, I absolutely love the artwork you picked out. Enjoy your new relaxing retreat! ❤❤❤
It looks lovely! As a matchy, matchy girl, I'm not sure how I feel about the mixed metals, but it looks really nice. I'm struggling with these results also. I just don't understand...
Thanks so much for fun vlog Jen! Just what I needed. The first thing I thought was mixed metals, wow! Had no idea but it really works beautifully, how fun. It reminded me of my late and much missed aunt who was wildly accomplished and had a super list of 10 Rules to live by. #10 was “Everything does not have to match.” (#1 was of course “Don’t be a jackass.”) She would’ve adored your bathroom, as do I. Yes self care is important in these dark times, thanks for the great reminder. 😘
Enjoy your well-deserved zen space. It's beautiful! Keep doing what you do as your outlet. We all enjoy your videos. Love the unintentional Disney "Easter eggs".
Wow - the bathroom looks amazing - I love it, love it, love it! The flooring ties it all together. I would say that it cost at least $50,000. No matter what you paid, though, it was worth it, right? Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the outcome of the election. I, too, was devastated and shocked. We just have to turn it over to God. After all, He is the one who is truly in charge. I’m going to be doing a lot of praying over the next 4 years. Love you, Jen❣️
Jen, thank you so much for addressing the election. So many is us are struggling, sick of the craziness, and sad that we live in a world where this could happen. This was a welcome distraction. Love it!
I was very upset by the election results until our pastor put things in perspective. If you are a person of faith, that may give you comfort. I has helped me.
This has been the most disappointing election of my 72 years. Don't despair! In two years, we can pull together and make changes that can make our country more compassionate and help protect those who cannot protect themselves.
Thank you so much for addressing the election. As a woman of color it certainly left me feeling abandoned by humanity. Love love love the remodel! I got instant Grand Flordian vibes! 😍🤩😍🤩
I absolutely love the bathroom reno!! The standout for me is that gorgeous floor!! But I love it all and am very jealous! LOL - thank you also for the beginning of the video - I feel like you - I am completely devastated...
The bathroom is stunning love the mixed matals and the blue hues. I am from the UK and I am gutted for you about the outcome of the election there. Take care x
I also cried all day the day after the election. We went down to the FL coast for that week. I made GOTV calls from the condo in FL! Well, let me tell you, it was better than being at home but still...I sat on the balcony of the condo and watched the waves and just cried. I wanted to flick every person that walked by on the beach because we were in FL in a VERY red county and I just knew those people voted for fascism to take over our country. I just recently discovered your videos and I so appreciate you addressing politics. Our Democracy and our rights are in peril and to stay silent is to be complicit. I've been looking forward to your bathroom reveal so thank you for going ahead and sharing it with us.
Love you❤️❤️. I am struggling in more ways than I can say. As for the bathroom, (here in NYC…..would have to take out a mortgage)…..zen….just zen. Reminds me of both Riviera and GF bathrooms❤️❤️❤️
It's so ironic because honestly the universe just KNEW I needed this done. It feels somewhat frivolous in these times but also I plan to do many things and need to be well rested to do them. This feels like a good place to recharge.
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge We have hardwoods through out except for tile in the kitchen and baths. Our house was built in 1944 so the flooring is original. With our pets, I wouldn't go back to carpet. Perhaps hardwood with a big area rug would be a compromise for your bedroom. Good luck.
It looks fantastic! Once I'm through with all of my cancer surgeries, I'm going to get my kitchen remodeled to be more functional. I can't really change the layout, but better cabinets and maybe a real pantry would help tremendously.
Amy YES you use that kitchen every single day it’s a fabulous place to bring more joy and convenience especially with all you’re going through. Start dreaming!
Jen, thank you so much for acknowledging the horrid results of our election. I know we're not alone in the sadness and disappointment and really utter confusion over how, at least half the country think about ALL the things that matter.... we'll get through this terrible time and hopefully those that are blind will begin to see the light... You're bathroom suite looks absolutely lovely. I love the mix of metals, the colors and I'm in love with the bathroom tile!
These days will pass. We need to start planning for the 2026 midterms and 2028 elections, today. This has been a wakeup call for me. We can't succeed by focusing on disparate groups or entertainment celebrities. We must return to our former strength, the working class.
As someone who loves your channel and voted differently than you, I have friends and family that are also upset, distraught and fearful. And take this anyway you will, the ones that are happy with the outcome, we need to be gracious and acknowledge the feelings and fears so many are having. I am gutted to see how nasty both sides got during this election cycle. Where is our empathy and basic human decency for our fellow american? Americans need to have more grace and compassion for each other. I pray for that more than anything. ❤
@@dalayneygirl8059 As someone that is deeply disappointed with the election outcome, I do understand why some voted differently than I did. I agree that there are some governmental trends that need to change. I do not believe that the man we elected truly cares about those issues or anything other than feeding his ego, punishing those that stood up for our laws and keeping himself out of prison. I pray that the public will remain engaged and communicate with their representative so our democracy doesn't devolved into the authoritarian system that our president-elect has signaled he plans to establish. I'm also unhappy about the lack of empathy and basic human decency in American society. That is one reason I'm so disappointed that we just elected a man that exemplified exactly those negative traits.
@@debwill13 if it helps, it isn’t exactly half the country that voted for him. It’s a much smaller fraction because not everyone who is eligible to vote actually voted. I live in Louisiana which mostly votes republican. I think if we didn’t have an electoral college, more people would vote overall and that would be a better reflection of how many people are actually on one side or another. I’ve been guilty of not voting at times due to living in a state that tends to vote opposite my views. I’ve never voted in mid term elections, but you bet I will next time. It’s only been in recent years that I’m understanding that a lot of power lies in voting at the local level, not just the presidential elections.
This is just beautiful! Love the floor tile and the molding and that wonderful soaking tub! But shocked how much I love that drain placement! Shower drains creep me out. It’s an uncomfortable dance avoiding stepping on them. Thanks for addressing the 🐘 in the room. Your video was a much needed distraction. 💙

❤️❤️. Take care.
Love, love, love. Also the bathtub is so practical - leaving enough room so that you can properly clean around it.
Yes! They made such great use of the space
Absolutely stunning. And yes, this was a week. A gut punching week. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous bathroom!
thank you, Christy!
i love that the window was pulling a little more towards the dated side in the before - but in the after it looks like a very expensive design choice!
I’m so glad you noticed that! I was truly shocked that they managed to make it look like a choice and not something we just had to live with. I love that window now!
I agree!!!!
It is stunning. Enjoy a nice bath today.
Thank you so much!
Those lights are gorgeous.
Thank you!!
OMG, it’s just gorgeous. I’m so happy for you!
Oh honey it’s gorgeous! Love your language of “jewelry of the room” with the mixed metals. Those sconces with the ribbed glass are drool worthy! Ands can we just take an extra moment for the art?! Next level for the mood! Love love love! ❤️
It’s fun how you comment and pretend I didn’t show you that picture via text message multiple times 🤣🤪🥰
@ 🤫 😂
It’s beautiful Jen! So happy for you to enjoy this gorgeous bathroom ❤
Thank you, Jodi!
I love your bathroom remodel! The moldings, tiles and countertops look so rich. I'm inspired.
Thank you so much! We are very happy with it.
Oh my gosh - Jen! Your bathroom is perfect, I love everything you picked! The mirrors, tub, art, just everything - beautiful! Thank you for taking my mind off of this horrible time for a little while.
I’m so glad and thank you for your kind words!
LOVE your new bathroom!!❤
Thank you for sharing your reaction to this past weeks events. Mine was similar and it helps to know I’m not alone. ❤Your new bathroom is beautiful.
Thank you, Susan! On both counts.❤️
Fabulous quote and YES
Thank you for working as an election official. The poll workers and people behind the scenes are the unsung heroes. I'm always so impress by their professionalism and commitment to democracy. This wasn't the outcome I wanted but, I'm not giving up. We will learn and be successful in the future. We have to be.
Thank you! I'm there with you ❤
We ALL deserve a space in which to escape and recharge, especially now. I’m so happy for you and I’m thinking I’ve got some ideas for my upstairs bathroom!
Oh I love to hear it!!!
Just beautiful
It turned out BEAUTIFUL! You and Scott so deserved this space to be able to relax, especially after dealing with a carpeted bathroom for so many years. 😂
Thank you! I seriously wake up every morning and can’t believe it’s in our house
Thank you thank you thank you Jen for your opening words! It is a difficult time and it’s so uplifting to know I’m not alone in feeling sad and disappointed. Love all your videos but this one is special. PS your bathroom is wonderful! ❤
Never alone. We will continue to fight the good fight!
You are not alone. We are bruised but still standing. We will learn and do better.
Whoever installed the shower floor tile is a master! You can’t even see the difference in the the 12x12 mesh sheets. Usually, one area always shows. Bravo! Looks stunning.
Yeah the tile work is incredible thank you for noticing the attention to detail!
Beautiful! Love the navy. Love the mixed metals. Congrats on having this project completed!
I’m disappointed too, but we move toward and we learn the lessons for next time.😍
It's beautiful!!!!!
Honestly I struggled a bit too but seeing it in the finished space I LOVE it. And same. Absolutely do not understand.
Beautiful bathroom. Well done to all involved.❤
It’s a dream. Absolutely stunning.
@@JennyVanBuren thank you, Jenny! We truly love it.
It's just beautiful ... whatever it cost, it was WORTH it .🎉❤
Thanks so much for fun vlog Jen!
Oh that comment made me tear up a little! I have to stretch myself to think outside of the box more than I do. It’s good for our brains!
Beautiful!!
Enjoy your well-deserved zen space. It's beautiful! Keep doing what you do as your outlet. We all enjoy your videos. Love the unintentional Disney "Easter eggs".
Wow well worth the effort and the time thank you for sharing
Wow - the bathroom looks amazing - I love it, love it, love it! The flooring ties it all together. I would say that it cost at least $50,000. No matter what you paid, though, it was worth it, right? Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the outcome of the election. I, too, was devastated and shocked. We just have to turn it over to God. After all, He is the one who is truly in charge. I’m going to be doing a lot of praying over the next 4 years. Love you, Jen❣️
Thank you, Sally - and yes praying over here too!
Jen, thank you so much for addressing the election. So many is us are struggling, sick of the craziness, and sad that we live in a world where this could happen. This was a welcome distraction. Love it!
I’m so glad. I almost didn’t publish it but figured others might be in need of an escape today like I am.🥰
Thank you very much for acknowledging your disappointment. I couldn’t agree more.
Really enjoying your channel.
Thank you, Kathleen!!
Thank you so much for addressing the election. As a woman of color it certainly left me feeling abandoned by humanity. Love love love the remodel! I got instant Grand Flordian vibes! 😍🤩😍🤩
NEVER ABANDONED. And yes GF for sure! But no noisy neighbors to worry about 🤣
Thank you❤. And thats hilarious😂
Jen- Thank you for these kind words. We so so so enjoyed working with you on this project. We can't wait for the next one! -Alexis and Taylor
Thank YOU for being so lovely to work with!
Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing with us ❤
I absolutely love the bathroom reno!!
Take care x
I Love It!!!! ❤️😘
We will get through this!
Well this brought me the joy I needed today thank you Jen :”)
The bathroom is absolutely stunning
I will take the win! Hugs to you all. We are going to be ok!!!!
I love it! And I love the blue. We hid our niche also.
@ absolutely❤️❤️. Enjoy every moment sending you a big hug❤️❤️
Love love the new bathroom! Hate hate the election result too! Sending love from Oz
Beautiful! 😍 I'm sure it won't be right away, but do you have any other renovations in mind to do next?
We do! We had hoped to redo all the flooring so the next phase will be that and at some point we will need new windows which is boring 🤣
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge Will you be changing your flooring? If so, to what?
@ I want to do hardwoods throughout but Scott wants carpet in the bedroom still
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge We have hardwoods through out except for tile in the kitchen and baths. Our house was built in 1944 so the flooring is original. With our pets, I wouldn't go back to carpet. Perhaps hardwood with a big area rug would be a compromise for your bedroom. Good luck.
Wooooooooooow stunning 😃🥰 love it all so much 🥰🥰 sending love from the UK xxxxxx
Thank you, Joanne!
Thank you, Deb. We have to believe brighter days can be ahead! And thank you we really love the space.
Bathroom looks beautiful!
Thank you so much! We are thrilled with how it turned out.
It’s stunning Jen and yes, so you! The only post November 6th enhancement you might like to make is a wine fridge in there. Just sayin’!
Done.✅
Thanks for your work on this election. Even though the results are heartbreaking, your work was important and appreciated.
Thank you. It was a great comfort to me to know I did everything I could.🥰
This is just beautiful! 💙
Yes it’s one of those things you don’t think can be different than it is! And yeah it’s going to be a long season
Every detail is so well thought out. The drain placement and cleanability (I also have long hair) is so smart.
Your bathroom looks wonderful. In my opinion the slipper tub is better than the corner tub.
It’s also more practical. Less hot water and stays hot!
Your bathroom is absolutely stunning!!
