Remember, "Don't use horsetail longterm..." as it may cause your dog to grow long hair on his tail. LOL
NO, seriously, very good video! Thanks. Although I had some UTI problems with my neutered male dog in the past, I'm leaving my current boys intact for many health reasons including urinary tract health as it is less likely for a healthy urinary tract to be as vulnerable to infection as an endocrine balanced one.
I will say, though, from personal experience and how my dog walked with great effort when he had a UTI, These types of infections are exceedingly debilitating and painful. For some reason, I guess the internal location, the body clenches in distress and pain. Anyway, the natural herbs, when used regularly to prevent infection are a great idea. However, any dog peeing blood is in trouble and in a lot of pain and should go the veterinarian and be put on antibiotics. I am a stickler for feeding my dogs to foster species appropriate GI flora so never want to resort to antibiotics. But, to withhold modern treatment for a UTI can result in a kidney and/or prostate infection and serious damage maybe permanent damage. And the suffering. Just things to consider.

Hello, I am currently following the dogs naturally cooked food recipes. However I am going to be flying from North Carolina to San Diego California with a lay over in Texas both ways. I am just wondering what I should do for food breakfast and dinner while traveling flying with my dog because it's going to be a very long day when we fly. Would love some suggestions or an article on the blog. Thank you

Take some distilled water bottles with you if you can, or boil the local water for your dogs water. There are different flora in waters from different states. My dogs would get diarrhea as soon as they drank from a puddle or faucet water. This has happened in several states.

Just a heads up or a WARNING. Dana's recipes have the liver at around 10% of the total meat which is very HIGH. Ten percent might be okay with poultry liver although most home-made dog feeders recommend no more than 5% for poultry liver. Most raw food and home cooked feeders are now saying that beef liver should be no higher than 3%.
Why you ask? Because of the high levels of copper in beef liver. FYI calf liver actually contains around twice as much copper as adult cow liver. (Note: Pork liver is very low in copper relative to all the other livers and duck liver tends to be higher in copper than chicken or turkey liver). If you rotate her recipes or have some days off from all the liver maybe all is okay. But, I feel the need to sound the alarm for those dogs being fed 10% beef or lamb liver frequently. This is very dangerous. It is also of concern if one if using dried liver treats as these contribute even more liver to the already overloaded Cu++
Please watch Dana's video about the danger of high copper in commercial dog food. I inquired with her team about why the recipes are so high despite DNM's content about copper but got no response.
Note, carnivores can actually excrete excess Retinol compounds in their urine so too much active vitamin A from feeding excess bovine, poultry and pork liver is not as much a concern as the copper (perhaps).
Additionally, there are or at least were some serious errors in the amounts of calcium and/or bone meal to add to some of the recipes. Again, the team there did not respond to my questions about that.
I don't recommend following any of the DNM recipes blindly as I think they are flawed.

Mammary tumors are common in unsprayed dogs. I have read that many times they are benign but even if they are malignant, surgical removal can many times be curative. This is a veterinary issue for sure that should be addressed ASAP.
