Damn wish I didnt have to cancel my preorder 2 years ago now, sadly I had too since I was hit on my bike. I'm fine now, but my back is still messed up to ride. Hopefully one day I can ride again, but right now its a no go.

What are the brake distances on a dry surface and especially in the wet compared to an ICE motorcycle??
Why would that matter? That's a matter of tires/grip. Mass is mass regardless of the motor.
@@QuincyPoaches the contact patch on a tire is limited and if there a larger mass from the battery it will impede with performance

What kind of tires will it use and who is the manufacturer?
I placed an order in 2021 for a hypersport and I’m still waiting. All your promo videos don’t mean anything when not a single bike has been delivered to a customer, and it’s been years. Delivery date keeps getting pushed back, and I’m now considering canceling my order and refunding my down payment. I wanted this bike to be a reality, but I’m starting to question this company.
Ask a refund before it's too late, we don't know when this scam will go bankroupt. It's really sad but Damon is the new Mission/Lightning 2.0.

from marketing perspective, I see it's great that you've caught the thing about how electric motor sound must be emphasized as the esthetical peculiarity of this product, in particular, and as a very special thing about personal electric transport in general. That's gonna be an important point for those "old school" guys who's got a kind of fixation on ICE vehicles esthetics

Is it true Damon bailed on the factory in Surrey BC. Building has been finished for over a year and 0 happening there.
We are manufacturing now at a facility in California, yes.

We don't take peoples money and then not deliver a product. Deposits are refundable.

We hit delays due to the market downturn. Even Tesla is late on their products, it's not an easy thing to do.
@@DamonMotorcyclesfinally said something I agree with. No its not easy. Even for Tesla.... a company that gotten 38 investment rounds from 17 investor to over $20B and still can't produce a car at scale, had to stop taking orders.
Then there's the fact that slaves are used to mine the materials for the batteries, a material that is so low in abundance that the entire planet doesn't have enough to build the cars California has mandated and you got your self a real parts available nightmare.

What’s the battery degradation rate..? 60% battery after 40000miles..?
Battery degradation should not be a problem for our customers. Even after 10 years of use, the battery should still be very functional, but will have a reduced range (~80% or more of original capacity).
The battery and motor are designed to exceed the life of the vehicle which is estimated to be over 100k miles. It'll last just as long as an ICE (or longer) with way less maintenance.

How can you build a business model around a $25k single seat sport bike? You need to mass produce an inexpensive do it all bike that will sell millions or your company will flop.
A new R1M ($26K) is similar in price and performance to our HyperSport HS ($28K). Our founders created Damon to make motorcycling safer (with tech) and coming from gas bikes themselves, they didn't want to compromise on the performance. On top of the performance, there's a lot of innovative tech that justifies the higher cost; they all come with transforming rider position, 360 degree awareness tech, LED & haptic feedback, mobile app, OTA updates & 200 Nm of torque. Thats all before tax & state incentives & tax credits. Also, our subscription plans begin at $264/month. Once our bikes hit the used market, they will come down in price, too. We hope that one day you can try out one of our bikes and see if you like them!

The main reasons for our "delays" stem from recent challenges in the investor market, impacting our funding for crucial production stages. A market in which many startups did not survive. We're thankful that we did.

One your being vague on the processes that’s being delayed , two you don’t have any investors cause it looks like a scam to them cause you don’t have enough people who even believe your not screwing with them. You don’t need hundreds of bikes just a couple to gain an investor by sending it to famous UA-camrs to so that it’s actually real. Making excuses will only make your community think your scammers. If you aren’t a scam you will take my advice seriously without something emotional to say back and act on it if you really do care about speeding up the process. Up to your founder if he wants to see it all go to waste or listen to the comments of people giving advice cause they wanted to see it succeed.
Unfortunately there's a lot we can't say about the inner workings of a business. Especially because we're in a quiet period before a Nasdaq listing. If we could, you would understand why these things take time.

We experienced delays in funding required for production. We're working on updating the delivery schedule as soon as possible.
Sounds like the EV bike field is a bit over populated and snagging big money investors is hard. Wouldn't be suprised if not a single bike is delivered. Then what do you do when it inevitably breaks? Who works on this for you? I'm guess Damon isn't going to be dropping repair manuals, diagrams, skematics ect for owners. Even if John deer did just get it handed to them. If I can't walk into a physical store and roll away on one then I'm skeptical at best about the company.
Probably 10 years out still realistically.
We're not that far out but we understand your skepticism. Most issues are worked out on earlier models, and with remote connectivity it's much easier to diagnose and fix the problem remotely with the customer. We also work with Damon-authorized dealers and our own service vans.
Hi! Can you all explain the design shift of the headlights from the prototypes to the production intent model of the hypersport?
The headlights needed to be homologation -ready, so had to change to become road-legal.

Skoda citigo iV has 36.8kWh battery with estimated range of 161 miles, but their motor only makes 82bhp.
Damon is a scam.
Claimed 200mph top speed, claimed 200mi range.
Literally post a video of this, add gopro gps overlay with speed. For range just do unedited stream like tesla did.
Skoda is a car, not a motorbike. Our Hyperdrive motor has 250 hp, 572 nm torque & 18,000 RPM with a 3x better power-to-weight ratio than average production motors currently. We're not Tesla, and we're not in production yet, therefore, you can do a stream yourself at a later date if you're lucky enough to be early on the reservation list.
@@DamonMotorcycles Your claimed stats are more than impressive, but I have yet to see any real life independent tests (your dyno run with no resistance does not count)
The dyno simulates real-world conditions. Media reviews are coming, media only jump on production-ready bikes, and we're not in production yet. It just takes time.
Maximum range is not reached at maximum speed (max power). And like they say, the car has more frontal area, more weight so uses more electricity. with my 2014 SR 11.4kWh I can reach 100 miles of range, so 200 with this Damon would perfectly possible!
The barrier to entry of riding a motorcycle is already easy… an electric bike doesn’t really do much to change that…

Big problem supper Expensive! ,only rich can throw money at. Canadian manufacturer but sold in US$$$$$$. They are out after people who will buy a Tesla, not practical rider's. This structure of sales will evaporate after the release. Looking very dumb on the market for investors 😮.
It's the same price as other bikes with the same specs except you actually get way more tech for your money. If you're comparing to the used market, then yes. It's more expensive.

It takes 10 years for most EV companies to bring something to market.. and ours will be in market much sooner! Have patience, it's coming :)
