Good review. BMW or TVS is now a better buy as a quality package against Austrian because riding is not all about outright acceleration. Quality does come at premium. Please do a GS review as well.

I went to see Nissan Magnite and about the panel gaps in interiors/dash sales person told me that company has put panel gaps knowingly so that they can be easily replaced, like plug and play 😄

It's a joke when big manufacturers undergo testing before launch and miss the vibrations entirely in the first batch, making the first owners the BETA testers..
They didn't miss the vibrations. They couldn't control them that time so they launched the bike that time. Tvs did more r&d and found a solution to reduce the vibrations. All single cylinder bikes have a good deal of vibrations.

Your point is valid, but every manufacturer makes subtle improvements to their engines over the course of it's life Since it was a first high capacity engine for TVS, it is understandable that they could not do much about the vibrations to begin with. Look at Hero Xpulse for example, they have revised the engine 3 times since 2018. And it is an engine based on Honda Unicorn 160cc that had already been in existence for almost a decade to begin with
Can we expect city street review? Perhaps a Mumbai or Bengaluru or Delhi or Kolkata or any other metro review? Pereferably in rush hour traffic? While back street and high way reviews do look dreamy , most of us will be stuck in the nightmare of coming back home in peak traffic.
The rr310 bs4 edition has an abs that fails to identify hard breaking during hard break is applied during an emergency (1:10 fail ratio). Even after reassembling the abs and updating ecu to the lastest, there is something wrong with abs, like the perinatal vibration on bmw 312cc engine, appearing only when it reaches inbetween 93-118km/hr. I don't think the stock tiers are an issue!

I bought KTM Duke 250 in Feb 2020. G310R was my first choice. Went to buy. 2 things that made me buy KTM : Price and Ownership Cost Delivery time of 2 days (even after paying immediately by CC, wanted the bike same day as had made up mind to ride home, next day being the BDay) KTM gave me the bike in 2 hours FLAT
the only concern before considering it as an option is its service costs. If someone has experienced a noticeable change in those prices please reply if possible.
Speedometer is too old school style in 2020 ending & much more important is service cost should be reasonable not higher bcs of its bmw bike BMW should know what indian customer needs affordable price affordable service
With so many added features and after removing the glitches if the bike is still 55k cheaper, that clearly meant they were ripping off their customers earlier. That's borderline cheating by just using a logo to demand a premium for an average bike!

Different bikes. This is a much lighter bike than the Contentment gt which is very heavy. The GT has more power and is much smoother to ride. Much more expensive to boot

Plus the engine heats up less in the BMW. Only issue is that service centers are less so check if there is a service center near your place.

To be honest, Like you said the comparison won't make sense. But I can tell you from experience, as I own the BS4 version of this. G310R is a proper city bike, built for it from all perspectives possible. It will give you a feel of Yamaha FZ with the power of Bullet 500. Literally you can clear away from traffic in no time. For the GS, I can tell you one thing, its a taller bike. I am 6 feet tall and wasn't very comfortable with my foot not completely touching the ground. It was an unusual feeling. Ride Quality feels same in cities but GS can skim through the off-road like a knife through butter.G310R can also, I did i to, but it wasn't enjoyable. Comparatively, the feel of a big bike is in GS though but I would go with G310R anyday. It's more practical to me. If you plan to buy one, I would suggest talk to your local BMW dealer. They are super good as far as my experience goes and participate/visit in the weekend events they do all the time. Go and experience in off-road for yourself, before buying any of the two.
This is way out of their comfort zone. They never ever had a small capacity single cylinder bike for decades. This was essentially a TVS bike with a BMW badge.
@@bawabiker TVS launched their bike many months before BMW so the engine was definitely co-developed as back in 2013 BMW announced they were making a bike in collaboration with TVS from the get go. BMW has absolutely zero experience making single cylinder engines. Even the parallel twin engine used in the F850 wasn't made by BMW but first by Rotax and then by a Chinese company Loncin. So aside from the Boxer engines that BMW is famous for their other bikes engines are developed by others because of the lack of experience that BMW has.
Well the difference was the tvs was priced low to attract customers while the BMW was priced high to keep in line with the brand. However tvs couldn't sustain low prices and so increased the price while BMW couldn't sustain high prices and so lowered the price :). Now both are priced comfortably to make both companies happy
I guess this is the only bike that stepped into BS6 with a lower price than before 😅
