Just wanted to say thank you for an excellent video. I replaced my thermostat following this. I will say Eurocsrparts had the other thermostat as the one for this car, but your video helped me pick the correct one from Motor Parts Direct.
You would probably lose a lot of coolant when you remove it. You can partially drain the system to below the level of the thermostat and then top up the system after you've replaced it. You will need to follow the same procedure in the video to avoid getting air in the system.
Hi. You say on later models the new thermostat comes fitted in the housing. I have been sold this for a 2005 model. Yet your video relates to "2002 to 2009" Have I got the right replacement part?
Not to worry. pulled it out and now she's running like a dream. Fan kicks in at 90 odd, temperature returns to normal. The French make beautiful cars, they just like to complicate things for the rest of the world by playing ignorant.
@@charabotte1 I recently bought a 206, and the car was not able to reach 70°C ... The old owner totally removed the thermostat ... I just mounted a new one on it and it seems working great. Let's see this summer :/ . I'm in France by the way so nothing to compare with Africa temperatures.

You're welcome 👍
Thank you ! But could you show us how we can purge coolant circuit ? 👍👍👍👍
There's a link in the video description
Can we just replace the Thermostat without draining the old coolant ? Or it will make air going into the system ?

@@screwsnutsandbolts Yeah ok so at this point it's kinda worth to drain all the liquid i imagine. Ok Thanks. :)

I can't say for sure. Give your plate number to your motor parts shop and they should give you the correct part for your car.
Thanks

Same refitting process, and same parts on Peugeot 307 1.6 16V petrol, 2003
It can vary between engines so you may need to take it off and check, to be sure.
Can we remove the thermostat. that vehicle runs too hot for Africa
