It is so good to see you back looking happy and healthy. You looked so distraught in the last video of 2021 that I kept checking to be sure I hadn't missed an update. The time off seems to have served you well. Happy travels!

Hi!😉 Congratulations on your Lance Camper! New fun, new challenges. We have a 2018 Lance 995 camper. A big boy but not as long as yours. Also on a one ton dually. We replaced it for full time living to a Lance 2465 trailer because I went to emergency falling out of the bed in the camper. Could not move my neck for 2 weeks. Fell off a stool trying to clean microwave above stove. If you are athletic and outdoorsy you will be fine ( and there is no good solution to getting in and out even when you buy new stairs, especially when on the truck.Too high) We still have our camper and when the stars are right we switch off for a vacation when we don't want to pull the trailer. I loved your last 5th wheel but for me, too much to clean and storage too high. My husband loves his camper and will never part with it and I hope you have as much fun with yours. Please be careful. Think I saw you in Hat Creek Ca at a truckstop for a moment. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.

I am so happy for you! I made the same decision a couple years ago for the same reasons. I now keep my 40ft fifth wheel as a home base, but use the truck camper for all my traveling. At first I wondered if I was crazy, but now wouldn't go back. I LOVE IT. I can get into tons of places including parking easily. Here is my propane tip as I had the same problem: go buy 20lb bottles and use them instead of the big ones. Propane lasts a long time in truck campers so you won't notice the bottle size, but when you do have to fill up, they are so much easier to lift. Also, I got rid of my steps and bought a three step aluminum step ladder from Home Depot - wide steps, super light, and I can use it for doing things outside the rig. Anyway, have a wonderful time!

I purchased a thick felt purse liner from Amazon. Its rectangular and it use it for toiletries in my rig verses putting inside a handbag. Lots of pockets for organizing, has worked fabulous. I also modified a cutting board to cover the bathroom sink, much the same way a kitchen sink would be. The added counter space is great when needed. Wood Insert tucks away or hangs up easily.

Lance campers are the absolute highlight quantity and 4 season! You got a fantastic deal! I actually have considered buying one but my husband is disabled and couldn’t get up the height. Personally I’ve never seen one that didn’t have a wet bath, that is awesome! I have seen a few propane businesses that will open the door and just fill tanks but most businesses don’t.
Hoping you continue to enjoy this set up and am looking forward to watching your future adventures!

Hey lady welcome to the world of truck camper living! I live in an alpine light on my three quarter ton extended cab Silverado. One of the most important of skills 😜 I have mastered is truly appreciating the customer service I have been given at tractor supply for taking fantastic care of me for propane. Mine are 4lb horizontal tanks and I am 4'11"and 100lbs at 67 years young. I just passed my 5yr mark ‼️ Happy trails and stay level AND don't drive in high winds.💪. 🤗🇺🇦💙💛💜

I love it Robin! I've long thought this would be my choice of rigs if I ever decided to pull the trigger. I REALLY like that you've got access not only for the boy, but for yourself if you need to get our if there for safety reasons. And, having a truck as a separate unit from your home is another layer of securing your home should your truck need maintenance / repairs. I say it's a winner winner chicken dinner!

This is so awesome! I was thinking that maybe you went for a truck camper.....since you had the truck. Nice choice! Just to let you know, I'm so so happy your'e back. You have been such an inspiration for me to start my journey. I've gone through all the different types of rigs, checked and rechecked all the pros and cons of each and finally chose my bus. For me right now, what i want to do with this whole journey, it was the best choice. I'm still converting and when its just about finished the house will go up for sale and I'll be living in it full time. Being a solo female and doing 99.9 percent of the build myself is even impressing ME! lol So thank you for the new videos! Can't wait for more. Hope to meet you one day so I can personally thank you.

I have a Lance 2018, and love it. We went from Texas to Alaska. Truck campers are perfect for Alaska. Ours came with a solar panel mounted on the roof and it works very well. When you fill with propane drive the truck there and have them load and unload for you. FYI, we bought a new mattress. Hubby told the salesman if he wanted to make the sale, they had to take out the old mattress and put in the new one. YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS WITHOUT HELP! So I got an amazing pillow top mattress. You can also pull a small trailer for your bike and tubs and other misc stuff.

I put the same foam tiles (larger size) in my 35 ft trailer with a layer of thin tri-fold siding insulation under it, and no more cold feet! My cats and dog love it too, and it's so much easier than carpet to keep clean.

Sometimes as we get older we realize we have become somewhat of a hoarder and it is so nice to downsize. Even in an RV you just find you don’t need as much as you thought you did. I love the camper. We have been thinking of getting a lil something to run around in also and I really love our ebikes- we got rid of our jeep we took with our RV. Now we just take the bikes. The Hollywood rack works great. I love that it doesn’t rattle around and the key is to everything, the hitch lock, the bike lock and the locks to keep the bike secure. I think you could do a lil Reno on that camper and make it more your style. I’m sure you’ll get to it when your ready. 😊

Welcome to the truck camper life! We have a 2014 Northstar Arrow U on a 2012 F350 shortbed SW 4WD truck. My husband and I live in it now full time since selling our house last summer. Your camper is much larger than ours, so we have to be very selective about what stuff we carry. One essential for us is a Clam screen tent which we set up when we stay at a campsite for awhile. It serves as our dining room/living room. Enjoy going to those off grid remote places you can get to now!

I traded my 5er for a Lance 865 three years ago. Hitching the 5er was much easier than loading the TC but driving is far easier in the TC...especially the gas stations. I still laugh pulling in willy nilly to any station and then taking any pump except leaving the end ones for people pulling. Same with my LP tank, can get it down, but not back up when full. I use the Little Giant step from Lowes. It is super useful around the house too because it has a sturdy handle that flips up for in the house. (I just turned 75 and take a phone with me when I climb a ladder at home now.)

I totally understand it when you said you didn’t like to ask for assistance with your propane tanks. I now have severe spine problems. With major spine back
Surgery happening soon. My point is, I’m now being offered help constantly, I know it’s because I look so very bad. Kind people offer help a lot, At first I declined, but then I realized they were offering me a act of kindness, more times than not it is younger men. Some as young as 15 some older than me I’m now 69, but it’s being offered out of kindness and they don’t mind at all. My lesson learned is I say a gracious thank you and I try to pay back when ever I can. I enjoyed your site I found by chance. But I wish you well and I’ll be sure to watch again be safe

Great having you back on the air. We love all your education and products you tell us about.
We, wife, dog and 2 cats, are camp hosts at a state park. We have a lot of RVers that really need to learn camping etiquette, also since everything opened back up rules and camping site reservations have changed.
Maybe you with your organizational skills could get a group of camp hosts from different areas together for a list of the new rules and park rules to help RVers to not get stuck without a place to park for a night.
Our park has had our electric sites completely filled every night since the first week of February. We have to turn people away every night, no exaggeration, or have some dry sites to put them in but even those are filling up since the first of March.

Welcome back and congratulations on your new Lance. My all-time favorite rig was a Lance camper on my old Dodge 2500 4x4. I am a displaced Alaskan and bought my truck from a former colleague and the Lance from the local dealer, who installed all the 'stuff' you will describe later. But that Lance was with me for years in all kinds of weather and topography, on- and off-road. I wish I still had it and will live vicariously through your journeys!

I love to see more people in truck campers, they have their problems like being very tall, having a high center of gravity, but you can fit so much in such a small space and go place no other campers can get to! Also, please give your cat a little smooch on his tiny forehead for me!

After spending too much time watching RV life videos. I have come to the conclusion that a solid truck and camper topper are the best way to go for me. One day I will be a Nomad.

Well, I guessed a van but a camper makes more sense since you already have a truck and need it if you need to move your 5th wheel. It's so nice having you back! I love your videos.

Remember how people used to get hay up in the hay loft? Get you a 8'' pulley and a swivel mount with a large s hook and walla, no more lifting tanks.

I love your new rig! I met a lady a few years ago while we were traveling and she has been traveling solo for 12 years. She had a really nice truck camper like yours and then she towed a small flat trailer behind her with one of those 3 wheel motorcycle things that she used to run to the store or run errands so that she didn't have to unhook her truck every time she needed to go somewhere. You definitely have some fun times ahead of you traveling with your new rig!! :-)

Be careful in cross winds. I had a Lance camper for over 15 years! But it got ruined while driving in 60mph crosswinds. It literally ripped the tie downs right out of the camper and it fell over on its side but stayed in the truck bed! After that the camper was all crooked and the whole thing actually tweaked the frame of the truck bed also! So just respect the wind!

AW.....sorry you had these emotional pains - I just had to smile at the way you described how you were going to show us your new rig for being zippier and traveling "alone.....again" ...and how you grinned, gritted your teeth, and cocked your head to the side - I just thought, yup. And as one other person said below, I feel like you are an old friend, and I worry about you if you are gone. This might be an odd question - but are you ever available to talk to me? I'm 69, and single, and been wondering about full time RV life for a long time. Blessings to you and stay safe! Maribeth in Wisconsin.

A Truck camper was not was I was expecting after your cliff hanger last week, but this really is a great choice! I’m very happy for you Robin, and a little envious. After my husband passed, I sold our Northern Lite when I moved from our large property. Am currently part owner in a larger travel trailer, but am looking to go solo. Am currently leaning toward getting a Travato with the Lithium battery system, but another truck camper is still on the table too.

you have made the right choice!! We purchased a used BIGFOOT in 2014 and we LOVE the freedom and ease of traveling in "Bridget". You should make a trip to the NC coast ... we have an accordion stairs that we no longer use and we would love to sell it!! We also have 50 amp and water service if you should come our way!! Enjoy your channel and hope to hear from you!!!!
We also have ebikes and a hollywood bike rack that is awesome. We would be happy to send photos! We just love RVing!!!
