Woohoo!!! I was just googling as you say the words "they are vegan" yay!!!! So grateful Schmincke is becoming aware that some painters DO care about these things!
Vegan? I'm confused. Why would you care if paint was vegan or not even you use internet, drink water, use electricity, eat clothing, eat plants, breathe oxygen. All of which we enjoy because of the death of animals. We wouldn't have paper, paint brushes, synthetic or otherwise, glass, nothing on this earth would exist without the death of animals. I'm not trying to be argumentative; merely trying to understand. Doesn't the cognitive dissonance effect your "mental health"?
They don’t care too much. I emailed them to just give customer feedback on desiring their artist grade watercolours either go vegan or else maybe they make a parallel vegan range and they write back a stuffy email about tradition and blah blah and how ox gall is a byproduct (it’s a product) and nothing else is as good. Yet their academic range disperses just fine. Ah well. We can all keep pressuring these companies and even just lodging an interest in cruelty free versions of their products. After all ox gall comes from very young cows and animal agriculture especially of cows is a leading cause of climate change. So even if we don’t eat vegan food or subscribe fully to vegan ethics we could all do without needlessly harming animals and destroying rhe environment.
@@WatercolorElisabetta I waited til the end and yes you described them clearly, I was curious how they'd feel different from watercolor, thanks! I "might" need to try these! xo
I’ll just jump in here Elisabetta, as AW here just said exactly what I was thinking, and you kindly answered it. I’m so pleased Momarte see the value of your channel. I would say the majority of your channel have similar passions aka obsessions with art supplies. I enjoy soft pastel and pastel pencil, so this really has piqued my interest. Beautiful portrait too. They really work especially well in portraiture - shame I don’t (can’t) do that!! Thanks for a great video 🎨🖌️👩🏻🎨❤️❤️
@anitadavidson1266 dear Anita of course you can do portraits if someone explains the basic principles to you. It can be daunting but no, please go for it. It’s very rewarding. ❤️
Un ritratto molto bello. Si vedono i progressi che hai fatto. Quando l'hai dipinto, ho pensato che si trattasse di tuo marito. Ma quando hai aggiunto anche i capelli grigi, ne ho avuto la certezza.
