Brilliant, Jeff. There’s always tricks I’ve either forgotten over the years, or not known. Thanks. PS. You don’t say folder wrong (and that’s coming from a Scotsman!)
is it possible to change the size of the type to siri box or at least change the place of that permanently. But again thanks for the really detailed content keep going 😊
Some of the keyboard hacks, like touch the trackpad instead of click. Speed of the pointer, things like that. Not every one, but a few good ones that I use day to day.
If you install applications to an external disk, will this affect performance of the app? I am thinking of DaVinci Resolve in particular, would scrubbing the timeline be slow, or rendering take longer, etc. etc.?
I’m still testing that. I edited this whole video, which had a fairly complex timeline, running on FCP installed on an external drive. It performed well. I think the issues I experienced had more to do with lack of memory, because I did this on the base M4 Mac mini.
It’s stock, kinda. I took a screenshot of the dynamic Sequoia wallpaper at the time that featured the color I wanted, and am using that as my wallpaper.
If you enable file vault protection, you will not be able to recover the password from the computer “root / administrator”. So I wouldn't recommend enabling such protection unless you are Edward Snowden
Small price to pay to have an encrypted drive imo. You don’t have to be Edward Snowden to not want some random person snooping through your files upon the device’s disposal, or theft.
Best way to launch apps or do most things actually is stop using the mouse! Use spot light to search and launch or better yet install Raycast. Raycast is so good it makes a Mac worth using alone. Far superior to Alfred.
Another Jeff Benjamin classic 🔥
Been waiting for someone to make a video like this already 🔥
thanks for this detailed explanation. as a new mac user this was very educational
You're welcome!
I will be buying the Mac Mini M4 Pro this year. I am a first time Mac user (other than iOS and iPadOs). This video will help so much.
Awesome! I hope it makes the transition smooth.
Great tips!!! I've been using Mac for a while but still got a lot out of this. THANKS👍

Does transferring applications to an external drive impact its performance?
I’m still testing, but I noticed no real discernible difference.
@@9to5Mac thank you
is AirBuddy one time purchase or it's monthly based ?
One-time
How to access emoji and symbol bar? Also, is there an alternative for alt +tab? Thank you!

@9to5Mac I will keep my eyes peeled, I would be very interested in a video on that topic. Thanks for the above video, much appreciated.
I feel like I am graduated in MacOS today 😂 great video
Come get your diploma!
I would use Safari’s compact view but it’s so badly implemented I just can’t use it
I like it, but yeah it’s far from perfect.
where do we get that phases album????
I’ve considered putting it on Apple Music, but undecided. It’s not really that good. Think I’d rather wait until I publish my new stuff.
@@9to5Mac I see looking out

Raycast is great, but I much prefer Alfred's simplicity and lack of subscription fees. Alfred is also very powerful as well if wielded correctly.
That all said, I agree with you, using a launcher is superior.
actually
A few tips are combined, so it’s greater than 60.
