My rule for every crazy project I take on : Overestimate my cash & time budgets. Take my cash budget and double it. Take my time budget and triple it. Mine too. I wanted to come over for dinner. I love a good roasted potato. It’s so hard to get potatoes to go crispy on the outside these days. I think the potatoes have too much moisture in them.

Thanks so much Rob, yeah I had to put it back on a couple times as I was in a lot of pain and want to give it a wee break from being on it all day. Finding total horrors is part of renovations. I admire the effort you are putting in for Keely's parents. Keep it up and I'm sure your Christmas plans will be amazing ❤.
Guys...don't compare times for renovating a kitchen. Not many kitchens are in a state of disrepair as this one. I think for your parents it is a very fortunate thing you are uncovering all the electrical and plumbing problems because if mice are eating the electrical...how freaking dangerous is that? How old is that wiring and plumbing? It gives me chills to think of the what ifs in this house. If you take longer than your parents would like, so be it. They will be thrilled and grateful to have a house that is not a ticking time bomb.
I love the color on the stairs! Great work, Keely! Philly, your sticktuitiveness is seriously impressive! You took on so many projects leading to so many headaches and other projects that you faced head on and plowed through. Well done! Btw...great flooring choice. This is fun!!! To watch 😂! ❤Lauren❤
Wow what an awesome job you guys are doing. I’m constantly surprised by your endless talents and perseverance!! We just put in an IKEA kitchen and it took me weeks to put all the cabinets together (we did get a man in to do the install). First thing I did though was to get my IKEA itemised “shopping list”, gave each cabinet a number then sorted all the boxes (160 of them!) into piles of individual cabinets and wrote their number on. Made it so much easier when I went to assemble them. Good luck - you’re doing great ❤ Also Keely those stairs were next level dedication but wow what a fabulous transformation!!

First of all, you guys get major points for sticking it out and making progress. Totally understood the frustration with the issues that kept popping up. But that's the big thing with renovating an older home. Keely, major high fives on the beautiful circular staircase. So much hard work, but whoa, what a transformation! I do hope your folks like the color, I think it looks fab. And well done on the flooring, Philly. I really love those large format tiles. There's a subtle elegance to that flooring. Well done on ticking off more items on the list. Really glad to see how well you did at the end. Somewhere around the middle I was thinking, "Give it up and just emigrate to America. Pretty unlikely your folks could find you." Just kidding. Pretty much. 😉

Old houses will always bring up problems. Old wiring and plumbing is good to change to code but can take time. Maybe invest in some ultrasonic rodent repellers to keep those pesky things away. You are doing really well. When it comes to doing the Ikea kitchen, one box at a time. Love yous!
Well done guys . Onwards and upwards When i did demos . I would say lets read the destructions (instructions). Let the good times roll ❤ PS. Baked Vegs looked delicious.

Good afternoon Philly and Keely I feel your pain my house was built in 1843 and there’s not a straight line or level to be had from New Jersey 😘🙏☕️☕️🍀🍀🙏☕️☕️😱🎄
Yay, you’re making progress though yes it must be demoralising when extra issues keep arising…. BUT….. just from the utility room floor you can tell it’s going to look AMAZING so keep chins and energy up, it will be so worth all your efforts in the end! ❤️
Massive job!!! I feel your pain but also satisfaction to tick off some of the work, well done!! Love the utilities flooring, let that be your incentive and go go go
There’s the pumpkins you made!!! I was hoping to see how they turned out…. Guessing not as good as you hoped 😊 please get t shirts saying “never leave a Brussel behind” too … my favourite quote ever 😂
hahaha thanks Maggie. Yeah i think they looked slightly more like something from the 'nightmare before Christmas' than the cozy vibe i was hoping the pumpkins would give off haha
Nice job on the staircase, love the color, just an fyi you could have hung plasic over painted wall, then you wouldn't have had to keep wiping it down. I like the flooring it's going to look awesome when done!
It’s just dirt , it’s just dirt, it’s just dirt 🤣 Keely the stairs look great in that new colour. Good luck with the rest of the kitchen, that is a lot of boxes , I said a lot of boxes , a lot of boxes 🤣🤣. X
Well done guys! The toughest part is done, now comes the exciting stuff…..building 😁 Oh and Keely, I love the colour of the staircase, bet your mum will too. Can’t wait for next week’s vid 💚💚
Hey guys! Well done!! I am Heterosexual but watching Keely using that power tool for tracking could turn me 😂 I love the stairs 😍 You guys are both super skilled up now! Looking forward to new merch! Hang in there xx
Love the stair colour, so French!Ha whenever I’m sooking out it’s always roast vege, don’t care if it’s 34 Celsius! Uggh glad it’s you not me. Still living in my half renoed house I started just before Covid (and serious long term brokeness) 2025 it’s all happening xxxx IKEA tip read all instructions twice before starting build. Orientation matters
Don't know if it's too late, but looking at your list, you're planning to put the wall units in after the base units. It's *much* easier to hang the wall units first with nothing underneath them...
Luckily with IKEA wall units the all get hung on a rail, so they get built on the floor and just mounted to the rail, I'm hoping that's reasonably straight forward haha, but I honestly have no idea. Always open to changing the order or things to make the work flow easier. The kitchen is still a construction zone so we are very up to date on videos haha, so all critique can be implemented so far 💪💪
@@phillyandkeely If you mount the wall units after the floor units, then you have to lift up AND reach over. Whereas, if you mount the wall units first, then you only have to lift up - MUCH easier. Try holding a wall unit at arm's length - you'll see what I'm on about. And that's before trying to hook it onto the rail...
So it turns out that climbing Ben Nevis was a wee walk in the park compared to "project kitchen" 😮. You know what though, this is the slowest bit because you have to go backwards before you can go forwards. It will come together very quickly... once it actually starts to come together 😅. The answer is coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. 😵💫 PS The stairs and the flooring looks frikkin' awesome! ❤❤❤
Is your mum watching these videos while on holiday? You are doing a great job guys. Keep going . A bit like a van build, one job causes another job and instead of 10 min job can be several hours, Sound familiar?Michelle ❤ x
Yeah she is probably watching this one right now haha. Hoping she is gonna call me and say she likes the stairs colour. Everything that happens is a surprise until she sees it in the video 😂😂

Old houses will always bring up problems. Old wiring and plumbing is good to change to code but can take time. Maybe invest in some ultrasonic rodent repellers to keep those pesky things away. You are doing really well. When it comes to doing the Ikea kitchen, one box at a time. Love yous!
They haven't had mice since the cat moved in 🥰🥰 one box at a time for sure, need to organise them first 😂😂😂
I have faith in you both. X 😊
Thanks Yvonne ❤️💪
You are all amazing. Your parents will be so pleased xx
Thanks Jayne ❤️
Dang.... what a project!! Carry On!!!!
Just keep carrying on 💪💪
You guys are doing well, and what a gift to Keely's parents. Great you had the help of family. Keep on tracking ya doing great. ❤😊

Renovating is so difficult. We have done it on several of our homes. It’s going to be amazing when it’s done. Just hang in there and do your best. ❤❤

Although a daunting task, I'm sure the end result is awesome.
Thankyou, we hope so 🙏
Love you guys you are so fun and yes quite normal in your approach to life. Why don't you have more followers? This is going to be great when finished and you will do it again at some stage for yourselves or someone else with loads of skill and knowledge. Axx
Thanks so much Angel ❤️❤️ skilling up for sure 💪💪
Good afternoon Philly and Keely I feel your pain my house was built in 1843 and there’s not a straight line or level to be had from New Jersey 😘🙏☕️☕️🍀🍀🙏☕️☕️😱🎄
😂😂 so true nothing level at all!! We thought vans were bad haha, but old houses are just the same!
wow epic job on the staircase!!! and fair play yous are some bucks taking on that job, legends XX
Thanks Janis ❤️
Yay, you’re making progress though yes it must be demoralising when extra issues keep arising…. BUT….. just from the utility room floor you can tell it’s going to look AMAZING so keep chins and energy up, it will be so worth all your efforts in the end! ❤️
Thanks so much Debra ❤️❤️❤️
Massive job!!! I feel your pain but also satisfaction to tick off some of the work, well done!! Love the utilities flooring, let that be your incentive and go go go
Thanks so much Andrea ❤️❤️ go go go 💪💪
There’s the pumpkins you made!!!
Thanks Brenda ❤️❤️ that would have been a good idea about the plastic hanging 😂😂 sometimes my brain is too tired to think of such things
So many cans of worms! 😅
the stairs look amazing, well worth all the time and effort to do. 😍
You are a great team x
Thanks Lyndsay ❤️❤️
Well done guys, the floor and stairs look great.
I'm worried about that pile of boxes in the living room 🙉🙉
Good luck 👍🐸
Soooooo many boxes!!!! Im stressed just looking at them 😂😂😂
It’s just dirt , it’s just dirt, it’s just dirt 🤣 Keely the stairs look great in that new colour. Good luck with the rest of the kitchen, that is a lot of boxes , I said a lot of boxes , a lot of boxes 🤣🤣. X

Hey guys! Well done!! I am Heterosexual but watching Keely using that power tool for tracking could turn me 😂 I love the stairs 😍 You guys are both super skilled up now! Looking forward to new merch! Hang in there xx
🤣🤣🤣 thankyou ❤️❤️ so chuffed with the stairs. And yesssss we are buzzing for the new merch 🥰 hope you guys love it as much as we do!
Love the stair colour, so French!Ha whenever I’m sooking out it’s always roast vege, don’t care if it’s 34 Celsius! Uggh glad it’s you not me. Still living in my half renoed house I started just before Covid (and serious long term brokeness) 2025 it’s all happening xxxx
IKEA tip read all instructions twice before starting build. Orientation matters
Great ikea tip 💪💪roast veggies are sooo good! really hope you get it all done 2025 🥰🥰
I’m good, just concentrating on getting my small business up, running and stable. Always so much to do, so little time!
🇬🇧🦋family is going to be so proud .. slowly slowly catchee spider … it will look fantastic 🦋🇬🇧
Thankyou, we hope so ❤️
Don't know if it's too late, but looking at your list, you're planning to put the wall units in after the base units.
😂🙏👏... You guys are awesome and I laughed all the way through. Keep up the great work.... your doing an amazing job 🥰💖😘
Thanks so much Sally ❤️
So it turns out that climbing Ben Nevis was a wee walk in the park compared to "project kitchen" 😮.
You know what though, this is the slowest bit because you have to go backwards before you can go forwards. It will come together very quickly... once it actually starts to come together 😅.
The answer is coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. 😵💫
PS The stairs and the flooring looks frikkin' awesome! ❤❤❤
Yesssss to all the coffee!!! I'm already looking forward to waking up to one in the morning haha
Hi Philly and Keely, it’s huge job , you’ve done well. Inspo you sound Australian 🤩. Take care and stay safe cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🚧❤️
Thanks so much Barry, yeah ridiculously big task, but we are getting there slowly but surely 💪💪 sending love back to you in Oz
@@phillyandkeely you be doing a Demo in the Reno 🤩❤️
Is your mum watching these videos while on holiday? You are doing a great job guys. Keep going . A bit like a van build, one job causes another job and instead of 10 min job can be several hours, Sound familiar?Michelle ❤ x
Yeah she is probably watching this one right now haha. Hoping she is gonna call me and say she likes the stairs colour. Everything that happens is a surprise until she sees it in the video 😂😂
Hi Philly and Keely ! My kitchen demolition starts on Thursday 5th December and I would say I'm facing exactly the chaos you're going through now. Hugs on the work so far Angela xx ps Love the gorgeous roast potatoes and pasta bake
Thanks so much Angela ❤️ 5th December is our wedding anniversary 🎉 lovely day to start the work!!!
