Hi , I would have one of the containers and set it up as a dog washing room . You could have a few dog washing sinks ( hip height) also ground ones for larger dogs + drying areas etc .. just an idea as people love their dogs and it benefits you because the dogs are cleaner after being on beach/ mud etc . I think it would be a massive plus for your site . Just an idea 💡 ❤👍🏽
One guest house, one for care and washing farm animals, garden and garden equipment. Office and crafts. The possibilities are endless. What a dream come true for you.
How awesome.... if you had positioned them in a U shape you could have put like a verandah /roof courtyard, protection from the elements. Maybe a coin operated washing machine in one. I have also seen people clad them with pallet wood too. Endless possibilities well done to you, ✅🇦🇺🏠
Build it, and they will come. Manifestation is all. 3 Containers eh! The Butcher, The Baker and Candlestick Maker. The 4th, Sales Office/Admin etc. Well done, and keep going.
Great to see the containers are equipped with showers and toilets, gotta be a save in money. You could always use the cladding that you used on your small home to re roof the containers, and seal the old containers before hand 😊 only a suggestion
The container units are great ! Nothing stopping you from refreshing them to your suiting and fresh paint and build wooden canopy structures with slanted rooves, perhaps tile of some description, top stuff really, halves the work you have to do !
Good to see you are giving these containers a second life. I would suggest treating / cutting out and repairing the rust before battening the containers and sheeting out with metal sheeting. A good option for the leaking roof is to install used solar panels and utilise the iso castings to install a mounting frame to allow this without touching the original. Keep up the good work.👍🏻👌🏻
Turn them into cabins for overnight campers. A bit of work i know but you have the shower and toilets to make a start kitting it out. A bed area..a mini kitchen.. cabin camping.
If you don’t actually _need_ four containers, use one as a donor for metal to rescue the other 3. I use containers for shedding on my acreage and once the rust takes a hold they can deteriorate quickly, especially if it’s important to keep the inside dry. But they’re relatively easy to fix if you have a cutting tool, a welder and donor sheeting. That was a good score. Containers are going for a mint here at the moment.
@CampOutWest if he has any sense he will not disagree with you, also I don't no how far from other shops you are but someone couid hire a cabin certain times of the year and sell stuff and give you an income
Put a container on top of another and use top one for office block with view of site. They could be a dormitory for cheap overnight stays for those that can't afford pitches etc. Bit like a youth hostel. Look at heat pumps and panels to be greener.
Tony is so skilled - it was fun watching how precise he was, and you too! Great work preparing for the containers to come. You were supposed to go for a dog walk that particular day and see those shipping containers, it was no coincidence, you received a blessing. Always love seeing Maggie have fun!
Amazing! We are currently in the process of getting rid of a shipping container from our back garden, as you can see in our videos. Wish we’d seen this video earlier. Well done on getting these guys!
Just watching your videos! We love porthcawl, we actually looked at houses there when we first moved back to Wales 8 years ago now, but ended up in Llanelli as it was that little bit cheaper. Can't get over the swimming pool In your garden! That's amazing!
This is a new type of adventure but beneficial . The inside of the home is coming along quite well. Maggie is enjoying the new change on the property. Thank you for sharing this amazing journey. ❤
If you're thinking of putting any windows into one of these to make an office unit, I would hang fire on the roof repairs until you've done this. The offcuts from the window appartures will make great repair sections for the roofs and it would save you quite a bit of cash as Corten steel isn't cheap and any welder would appreciate it as they would be welding like for like. The Worcester boilers are fantastic units and if you're reducing the number of showers down would be more than sufficient to run at least 4 showers each
What a find! With the prevailing wind you could look at placing them to give the most shelter from the elements so you have a mini “safe” area all year. Think about getting power etc to them so you can use the same run to minimise any labour needed for trenches etc. Thinking about the glamping could you create a viewing/social area, maybe by stacking on on top of the leaky one? This could be somewhere for guests to dry out if it ever rains😇.
Those containers look great. They can be repaired using “corten steel” and a fabricator could repair the roof very easily. Such a great gift for you…..great video as usual ❤❤❤❤
Great haul sad about the rust but they all do it eventually. It's repairable but it's a pain to do. Don't cheap out buy a good welder and learn to use it you won't regret it in the long run.
What a result happening on the containers it just shows you hard work determination and a bit of good luck (which let’s face it we all need) always pays of in the end
We LOVE coaltown! We have a candle collab coming out with them later this week, we've made all the candles for their christmas range and we are doing a pop up shop and community meet up with them next month in Ammanford :)
Dear Jon & Emilie, i'm so happy for you as you managed to get the containers, that's wonderful news. You deserve the good grace which favours you as you work so hard on creating your dreams. great news and I really hope they work out for you both. It's lovely to hear some good news these days. ps don't give up your day job Jon! 😂(you did well!)
Wow - Free containers is a big win. Maybe dedicate 1 as a laundry. I think you should build shells/roofs around them for insulation & longevity (cold & damp shower blocks @ a camp site are a misery).
Oh... and congratulations on the excellent container find/deal! One thing you might consider is spacing 2 apart and then building a roof to bridge that distance... and you end up with covered parking for your outdoor equipment. Ambition Strikes did something like this. Cajun Country Living is working on a shop made this way... and I'm sure there are others - but you've got enough outdoor equipment, it might make sense to keep it out of the weather.
Make a workshop/tool shed and another into a pantry food storage area and half for water storage for those winters when you get snowed in. The third could be used as a solar farm to charge your battery storage units.
Great work really really good work the ceiling above the shower are you putting a vent in? 👍👍 have you not got them to close together as your waste pipes are close together to run the water and waste away but what a bargain for all 4 👍👍
As I've said in the past gas is my field, infact I worked for that manufacturer for over 20 years. They are fairly new. Only negative/worry is how long have they been standing, exposed to frost etc
I would divide the spare container !/2 a shop for basics and gifts the other 1/2 as a coin op washer /dryer Both essentials on a camp site See if the shower s can be divided for both male and female, then you have 2 toilet blocks and one to dive into an office area and workshop/ tool storage area
If a 4 season campsite is the long view , perhaps arrange them so that they make walls of an indoor facility? Putting trusses between two containers gives a large indoor space… and if the third container was the office it can be social area for the campground. Leaving the third “wall open would provide an opportunity to have a summer opening to a particular nice view or central campfire area. This kinda thing could be done in steps too.
Such a great find for you guys, will really help with your plans and such a good steal even if you need to put some time and money into them! Great update!
How exciting to see the containers landed! It’s really progressing! Do you think you’ll be settled in before Christmas or do you think you’ll be in the caravan still? Xx hope the weather holds out for you guys
Hi both, we are hopeful! We have our electrician coming tomorrow to start the first fix in the cabin, just waiting to hear back from our plumber. Once the first fix is done we can finish everything inside (wall cladding/flooring) our log burner is booked in ready to be fitted the week before Christmas, so it's all go go go 🤞🤞🤞
Id if you checked or not but I'd make sure all pipes are drained of water before winter hits... wouldnt want the water boilers to crack if water froze in them. Great find

Well you got very lucky with those containers, they should save you loads of time and money. So the electrician and the plumber are coming this week does that mean you will be in your house for Christmas, I hope you will be, I think you have spent enough Christmases in the caravan.👍👍👍👍👍
Wow, as I said in your last video you are incredibly lucky to have got those containers okay? So they need a little bit of sprucing up but the wonderful find can you not cancel the stuff you ordered for your shower block and just use those instead?
That’s sick that you got to have a go on the crane! 🏗️ sounds like Emilie had lots of faith in you with that laugh haha she secretly loved watching you do that. Great job guys! Win win for the land! Xx

Love the idea, we would need to check with planning but they are a great size inside
Wow, that was a very lucky find. Now you have 4 large roofs for solar panels 🙂 Bonus. I'd have 1 shower block, 1 toilet block, 1 office and 1 shed.
Paint them upgrade them the worst one make into the office ❤
Can't wait to give them a new lease of life

Is there anything John can't do? That crane handling was epic!
I call him #dreamboatJon
@@CampOutWest don't we all? 🤣
You couid use one cabin as a little shop, the office idea is good, take care x
A shop is my dream Chris! Got to convince Jon first 😂

The containers once updated mean your camping site is ready to go! Amazing 🎉
The containers are amazing, well done.
Can't believe they are ours!

Great for extra free storage on site and brilliant for temporary toilets for use right now , and 4 free boilers......wow

Inside jobs! Great timing and a big relief with winter closing in.
We've had the worst storms this week, so very lucky we had a dry day when the containers arrived

now thats a game controller ! great find with the containers
Coaltown Coffee is a great place, fantastic building and ethos. Lovely people. I'm 190 miles away so can't get there as often as I'd like...

what an great score 🎉 a window on one end and a beautiful long desk and wooden floors for your office . with the view facing just trees ❤
That is a really lucky find, I imagine its like pianos where the cost of transport removes any value below a certain condition.
We got a great price! £799 for the 4 to be removed. We were lucky they weren't being transported too far
Good on you for trying the crane. Great result well done!

The containers are fabulous so much usable space with a little effort to get them fit for purpose well done 😊😊
Wow, even better inside than what I expected! Really happy for you.
Thank you! Can't believe our luck
OMG, more #CampOutWest, yay!
A record for us getting a video up this soon after our last episode😂
As I've said in the past gas is my field, infact I worked for that manufacturer for over 20 years. They are fairly new. Only negative/worry is how long have they been standing, exposed to frost etc
I would use one as an office, one as a site shower/toilet block and the other two as small huts to be let out for holidays…. 😊
I would divide the spare container !/2 a shop for basics and gifts the other 1/2 as a coin op washer /dryer Both essentials on a camp site See if the shower s can be divided for both male and female, then you have 2 toilet blocks and one to dive into an office area and workshop/ tool storage area
Cool find 🏴
Can't believe our luck!
@CampOutWest maybe luck, but maybe it's a little reward for staying true to yourselves and not listening to the comments about getting on quicker.
What a find Brilliant. I guess they will need painting. A portaspray would make light work of those.
Maybe use one of the containers as a sauna.i know you had plans for something else but maybe something like that.thanks for taking us along. 😊
Great vlog guys. Lucky find. I'm sure you will make good use of the containers, what ever you decide to do.
Take care and stay safe.😊
Can’t wait to see your touch on your new containers …what big win for you guys ….so exciting….thoughts from Scotland….

Hi both, we are hopeful! We have our electrician coming tomorrow to start the first fix in the cabin, just waiting to hear back from our plumber. Once the first fix is done we can finish everything inside (wall cladding/flooring) our log burner is booked in ready to be fitted the week before Christmas, so it's all go go go 🤞🤞🤞
@@CampOutWestbrilliant! I hope your in in time 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Congrats on your good fortune. Long may it continue ❣️
Delighted for you... great win.
Thank you! Christmas came early
Id if you checked or not but I'd make sure all pipes are drained of water before winter hits... wouldnt want the water boilers to crack if water froze in them. Great find
Ideal size for a large 00 gauge model railway layout. Build a small recording studio.
What a nice bloke Tony is!
Hello from Dortmund in Germany....I Like to watch you Guys building and planning your new life!!!
This four Containers are a great Idea for your future campside. My Idea for on of them is a' washhouse"....where washingmachines and dryer can be situated an...as plus..in a seperated corner a washingstation for dogs
Thats what I ' ve been missing, when we we're out on campsides in former times. We normally found such washingplaces for dogs only outside. This doesnt help during cold wether or rain. Maybe this would be an idea for you? Good luck from Germany!! Silke ❤
You two are simply amazing 👏 ❤
Result with the containers👍
18:02 My first time here on this channel and you had me worried for a bit... but luckily your job and building site has a capable and able site inspector about... good !
Awesome, some good ideas to 😊
It would be nice if you can convert 2 as cabins cut in windows some containers make amazing homes when converted, whow lucky you with a sand down to get rid of rust and a paint they will be amazing
I think you may need a ledger board in that bathroom for the ceiling to hang onto... you know, on the outside gable end wall. You don't appear to have a nailer all along that edge for whatever you are going to use as your bathroom ceiling... Maybe you have another plan? ...
Build a raised roof over the containers rather than trying to repair them , obviously you could paint some sealant on them but it’s far easier and cheaper to cover with a floating tin roof
That's a great find ...made to happen ...they are about 3 grand a piece without the stuff inside so u did well . I think they are a bit close together as ur going to have to maintain that rust in the space between. ...I have 2 containers and treated/ painted mine with hammerite paint ( no mean feat at 66 yrs old) getting up on the rooves 😂 but good on u. Just doubled ur work load ...had to happen 😂😂 .
Get some heavy duty tarps to cover them for now xx
I agree with a few ppl here.
One container as a dog washing & general cleaning container (mud clean room, cause who wants to pack up dirty camping gear, or animal?)
I know you already did the washing mashine set up, but tbh I dont like it being exposed like that. Having an indoor coin operated laundry incl dryer are again amazing especially if you have some comfi chairs for waiting & a table or two for folding clothes. Including a large capacity washer &dryer. That one Id keep an eye on, so ppl dont throw in nasty dirty stuff, but ensuring those items been given a clean in the mud room first (see how that works? :) ) It keeps one out of the elements, when the weather isn't nice.
The third one Id prob do some very diff with. Id do a sorta free store. Like a take an item, leave an item, incl books etc. obviously not everything is cool to leave, but this may come in handy for ppl who are van lifers etc.
Sometimes one buys something new, that turns out not to work for a person. It be nice if those items are kept from being thrown away. Plus any surplus can always be donated to the local charity shop.
Or, you could also have a small store in one as well, selling postcards, or souvenir items, or things ppl may run out of, incl simpe food like ramen, etc. Equally you could offer a small kitchen area to use a water kettle -ll& a sink to do dirty dishes asf
The options and possibilities are endless.
Comgrats on getting these containers. Make sure you add a sturdy tarp&secure it, to the one where the roof leaks. That way it wont get worse over the winter. I prob already add rust converter onto all visible rusted areas& add a lil metal protection after. Again as a preventative.
Make sure to call on your local welder union, and ask if they offer any type of shop classes, or know who does or is interested in teaching you to repair those containers. Welders are usually pretty friendly (cough I am one)& often happy to help out in getting someone started in the trade. Or if there is a school nearby where they teach shop /welding, see if they'd be interested in coming out& helping you fix the containers. Gives them real life experience & helps you save money. Plus they usually also are happy to teach others:) a last options is to ask at your nearest welder supply store if you could post a flyer for help. Great video! Love how you guys are rocking along!
Keep one as a toilet block. Can never have enough toilets . 😂
Will you be turning any of the new containers into camp trailers? I am sure you have lots of ideas on what to do with them! Great find!
Sorry! I should have watched the video until the end! Those are amazing you two! And I am sure you will have them looking amazing in no time!
Wow what a lucky find 🇬🇧😊
Great video ❤
Well you got very lucky with those containers, they should save you loads of time and money. So the electrician and the plumber are coming this week does that mean you will be in your house for Christmas, I hope you will be, I think you have spent enough Christmases in the caravan.👍👍👍👍👍
He came in like a wreaking ball 😂
I would pour a concrete foundation for these containers. Then connect them and build a house around them. Or connect them to your house.
Nice work
Cracking on!
Wow, as I said in your last video you are incredibly lucky to have got those containers okay? So they need a little bit of sprucing up but the wonderful find can you not cancel the stuff you ordered for your shower block and just use those instead?
Hi great to see the containers, what are the planning rules for these? Can anyone have them on there land???
Have one with a washing machine in and dog wash station.
Oh I would love to have a laundry room. With how muddy Maggie gets in the winter that would be a great idea 😂
What a gift for you but more work..
First thing with the containers is to do repairs and stop them deteriorating any further, then decide use and decorations, what a stroke of luck!
👍👏👏🏠👏👏👍
How will you solve the condensation problem from the pipes being inside the insulation layer? Just curious, the whole thing looks amazing 👌🏻
Nice !!
Can't believe they are ours!
👍
year round grow room?
Oh they would be great for that! I would love to make a food pantry too!
Sauna
That’s sick that you got to have a go on the crane! 🏗️ sounds like Emilie had lots of faith in you with that laugh haha she secretly loved watching you do that.
