Actually cramorant’s shiny is probably a reference to what happened when a bird fell into a curry once in the uk and it went bright orange. This became a reasonably large news story and I seem to remember you mentioning it previously but I may be wrong there
I thought Cramorant's shiny was a reference to Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie. It made sense since Banjo-Kazooie got in Smash around the same time as Sword and Shield coming out.
Impidimp line could have a silver tongue, as if based on being liars or “silver-tongued.” Orange cramorant could be based on a bird that fell into curry.
I think specifically the shiny Obstagoon line is a David Bowie reference since the pink and blue were his colors at one point plus it’d make sense since they are normally K.I.S.S colored
I was of the same impression. Despite the artist not being punk or rock in the same vein as the obviously influential KISS, the color scheme of Shiny Obstagoon feels heavily reminiscent of Bowie's more flamboyant eras: Life on Mars, Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, as well as Aladdin Sane (alternating the Aladdin Sane bolt for Obstagoon's stars). And the color-scheme, while bright, commanding and unnatural, doesn't scream punk to me: where one expects loud vibrant colors, you usually see them in hot pinks, sharp greens, not the somewhat more subdued blue present in the line
I think the Inteleon Line's shinies are basically a reverse of their original concept. They are supposed to be stealthy and hidden all the time since they are spies, and the shinies are the complete opposite, being way more noticeable.
Zorro literally means fox in Spanish, referring to the character’s tendency to hide in the shadows, as well as his acrobatic agility. This also appears to be a major naming convention in the Zorua line!
Yes stupid he knows that hes just trying to find what the shinys could look like and some of them are on purpose and some are just random but he still trys to see what they could look like
@@GameSharks this. Though I’ve heard that there’s an extremely rare variety that makes it so you don’t see color at all, it would be a tiny tiny minority.
I always thought the black and Grey on the thievul line was referencing raccoons since foxes basically are the same thing in the uk as what raccoons are in the us. Also both are usually nicknamed "Trash Bandits"
Yeah sort of but foxes are a lot less common here and don’t really dig through trash or anything unless it’s out in the open and they are less mischievous and stuff
Falinx turning brown and yellow could be switching out bronze for straight copper shields. These were used VERY early on by Roman soldiers, but bronze being much more durable meant they supplanted copper rather quickly.
3:30 Yes red squirrels are native to the uk but it is important to note that they’ve been almost entirely been pushed out of England and Wales due to the grey squirrel. however they can still be found in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Even though it has very little reasoning I do love Alchremy’s shiny form. It’s actually the first shiny I ever grinned for, and it was exactly because I liked it so much.
Chickadees are not, nor have they ever been, corvids. I am not sure where you got that from. They're from two totally different families. The shiny Rookidee could be a reference to a chickadee, but since this region is based on the UK I feel like it's more likely that it's based on the Great Tit, a cousin of the Chickadee (they're in the same family) but that's native to the UK (which the Black-Capped Chickadee is not, it's North American).
Some other reasonings I thought of: 1. Intelleon going from black to white could be a reference to the Spy Vs Spy comics (ok it’s most likely not the case, but that was the first place my mind went when I saw Intelleon’s shiny) 2. The Galarian Zigzagoon line’s shinies could reference the British flag. They’re not quite the same colors, granted, but they’re close. 3. Falinks goes from gold to Celestial Bronze (you know, from Percy Jackson?)
8:33 i think it’s a lot more simple than that. The colours are inverted. If u have an apple device triple click the home button and invert ur colours, u can see for yourself :)
I always like to think that Obstagoon's shiny colors are a reference to the brighter colors usually seen in pop music, as well of pop rock. Also, pop rocks typically come in pink and blue.
The bird nerd in me has to mention that chickadees are not corvids as was stated at 3:50. Chickadees are part of the family Paridae, which also includes tits and titmice (titmouse means “small bird” for those of you with dirty minds) in its ranks. As for real-world counterparts, regular Rookidee looks like a Eurasian blue tit, while the shiny resembles a great tit, two species which can be found in the UK.
13:27 now of course lockstin could be right but personally shiny alcremie makes me think of cookies and CREAM ice CREAM hence why my shiny alcremie is named Oreo
Just imagining the amount of time you take to write your whole script and create a 20 minutes video that is actually entertaining for young adults (Like the majority of people who play pokemon) is really amazing! Keep up the good work and greetings from Costa Rica.
Not sure why but lifting the book and the dumbells in the wrong order and the look on your face got a genuinely big laugh out of me XD the rest of the video was also great! Really enjoyed this one
6:06 I think cramorant's shiny colors are like this because an orange pelican was found in Israel not long ago and it was an interesting phenomenon because it is the only one of its kind in the world and because they both keep their food in their mouths it can be a nice reference to the orange pelican
when i look at falinks's shiny, i always see it as a reference to the bronze age of greece (and mediterranean civilization as a whole, but specifically greece, since thats where the phalanx formation originated as was stated in the video). armor, weapons, and shields then were made all but exclusively of bronze and hardened leather, and the plumes/crests on helmets were usually made of horse hair that i dont believe was dyed any particular color. no idea why it'd be yellow, but that's what the design evokes to me.
I like to imagine that Cramorant’s shiny reasoning is that it tries to look like Charizard to intimidate, but it just ends up looking stupider. Or, it’s an insult to Charizard because they’re both orange birds. (Yes, Charizard is a bird NOT a dragon)
You should do a video on inteleon i love a lot of the inspiration behind it and its shiny is also reminiscent of an axolotl because of the pink fin on it and how it gets darker as well seeing that axolotls can be a brownish gray color and seeing that i think axolotls are native to south America maybe but anyway an aztec god which was the god of the exact opposite of an axolotl transformed into one to avoid punishment for something it did and seeing how i believe the Spanish wiped out the aztecs and Spain is a European country inteleons shiny could be a nod to axolotls seeing how i wouldn't put it pass the Spanish to have brought over axolotls of they found them and there very rare as well and a shiny is very rare to i hope you see this because i think it would be a neat idea seeing your probably going to do a vid on inteleon any ways, sorry and things i got wrong lol
I see Intelleon's shiny (and the whole line) as more of a reference to a neon club aesthetic, kinda like one may see in a spy or crime movie/series where characters are meeting.
