i hear you man.. i love drumcorps but i know that its completly different with these types of drumlines. i think its super entertaining to watch guys like this. like that first visual with the boxes was awesome. good video though
I attended the A&T vs. Howard game today!! Cold Steel was once again outstanding!!! Flew in from KC, MO to see this great drum line that I was a part of back in 1977. Great Job Guys!! Aggie Pride!!!
Am I the only person who saw the white dude and automatically said "white dude a dog" I mean Ncat is a hbcu so to be accepted to the school and the dl can't be easy. props
lmao I was thinking the same thing. Langston did pretty well but the energy, intensity, cleanliness, and entertainment factor is why NCAT takes this one.
i agree with you whole heartly deangelo. the 5 man snare line was just as good as the bigger one an really to be honest was just as loud an known as the bigger one. in my observation the smaller group won in my opinion.
alright we all get it okay hahaha theres one white guy on snare...SO WHAT???... ik he's better than most people....he's talented and he can keep up...he already proved that since he made the drumline
Looking at this again years later, I have to give the win to Langston considering they were smaller but had a much cleaner sound. A&T had nice choreography and visuals but too many drums can be a fault to the section as well, moreover it's just a more intimidating look. Langston cymbals took the who show, they snapped. It didn't help hearing those other drums in the background. That first cadence Langston played was hard-core.
The mugs that Langston's drumline has is hilarious!! Langson was good; although I have never seen a tonal player with their drum right on their face. A&T was cleaner and I would give them the win
Fucking natural rhythm, man! The only funny thing is the blue uniforms of the first drum corps made 'em look like a prison band. And that WAS priceless!
All jokes aside, I'd really like to see A&T's snares take the cleanliness up a few notches. Not as a put down....but because I REALLY like them and want them to be undeniably one of the biggest heavy hitters out there in HBCU lines....SWAC included. That being said, if there are any A&T percussionist reading, I REALLY encourage you to keep up the great work and just be super picky with your ears on the snare line. I'd really like to see you all just crush in the next few years.
You're right. Cold Steel was definitely more confident, which contributed to their victory. But they've found a way to balance entertainment and skill. This balance is why they're so popular and it's why I believe Cold Steel is the best drumline..... But that's just my personal opinion.
They were both super dirty. Snare eighth notes at a slow tempo sounded like flam taps. I am also assuming they are not collegiate, because if they are... ouch. MSU's drumline is phenomenal. And if they are High School, still damn, but I would say the technicality lacking and dirtyness makes sense.
we can talk about a and t technique all day....but u got to admit.....they have strong confidence in their style....and u cant talk em out of it. they could be alot cleaner but they are enjoying themselves. but the langston people just look like a high school...snares tuning bothered me but if they were bigger it wouldnt change much....they have a few decents things going but overall they can step it up a notch....but love the fact a lady is on snare....that is awesome in my book
I love my HBCU's ( Cheyney U Alum) but tell me....why the hell would you show up to a drumline battle or any performance with cracked cymbals, basses with holes in the heads, and all the basses not tuned?
cymbals are extremly expensive running at about 600 a pair bass heads burst during parades ( battle took place after a parade) same with tuning they start out tuned and also it could be thats how they want them tuned
To each his own like. That drum corp drumline you're speaking of is a whole new different style/world. They are very tight, but aint no funk in it! I likes stank on mine.
One of those snares is not like the other...>:D
All kidding aside both were solid and fun to watch. :)
The more I watch this the more I realize Langston held they own in this
I said the same thing.
Proud of any of them it's a lot of hard work to be in the band let alone the drumline......AGGIE PRIDE!!!!!
I like how Langston held their own in this.
Agreed
😂😂😂

Langston is so cool, i like them
White boy was feelin it
Kobe Bryant Black boy wasn't lol
my son wants to go to North Carolina a&t when he finish the national guard
even if I am so far away from the US (Germany) - I love this
In my head I was thinking, it’s okay to play one cadence and walk away. You don’t have to get done that dirty
It was about a tie. Both did good.Cold Steel supposed to be the better, but I like Langston tenor drummers;them cats throwin down...
What was the second cadence cold steel played
Am I the only person who saw the white dude and automatically said "white dude a dog" I mean Ncat is a hbcu so to be accepted to the school and the dl can't be easy. props
lmao I was thinking the same thing. Langston did pretty well but the energy, intensity, cleanliness, and entertainment factor is why NCAT takes this one.
When those drummers yelled "bitch" i lost it!! 🖑😂
I have been spoiled by the top DCI drum lines.
i like the second group better. They had less people but there beats were cool
Stick visuals was amazing

🥁🔥❤️👌😇👌❤️🔥🥁
If Langston is the smaller group, they got that shit tight and the metals rocked it. Good moves on NC A&T, but they need to tighten it up.
What was the name of the second cadence a&t played with the dance?
whats the first cadence cs played with all the tutting
Sound like military drumline that i like the way they march in on that nice candance
Yea, I agree. And A&T didn't issue the challenge...they were just finishing up the parade & Langston was waiting on them sooooo....lol!
cold steel gon always do they thing but Langston sounds nice
I like the smaller bands work better on this one. Looked like they were outmatched at first but they surprised me
Their expresions so funny 😁.. small basses 🤣🤣..
the DEN held it down.. good job.
theyy going hamm..i need a drumline for my dancelinee
are those system blue head on the quads????
is this like a different kind of technique (overall) of band, than dci?
So... many... basses. I LOVE IT
I am pretty sure each one of the people in this video have seen the movie Drumline more than once, and loved it!
5:26-5:38 YES!!!! Love it!

? Gotta be crazy
I thought i was tripping when i seen the drum on his face wow 😂
that first cadence A&T played been funky !! lol
i think both groups would 1. laugh at each other 2. look at each other like WTF was THAT?! or 3. just play some eights lmao
Can anyone tell me why would A&T need so many percussion for a medium/small band?
The mugs that Langston's drumline has is hilarious!! Langson was good; although I have never seen a tonal player with their drum right on their face. A&T was cleaner and I would give them the win
BCCHSMD that was a tenor drum fool
Lil Ole Langston got that win lol A&T got all that size and got their butts kicked!😂
that first bass sure loves his drum
i dont graduate high school until 2016 but hopefully i could play snare for NC A&T ot FAMU!
love the groove :)
One of da best NC A&T
Fucking natural rhythm, man! The only funny thing is the blue uniforms of the first drum corps made 'em look like a prison band. And that WAS priceless!
That white guy was my LB!! He crossed in 2009!!! Best white boy to ever do it!! His name Will by the way!!!
How the hell does the first snare on Langston drum with his hand so far up his right stick
I Like the wait for it part
All jokes aside, I'd really like to see A&T's snares take the cleanliness up a few notches. I'd give it to Langston just on cleanliness alone (though both lines could stand to tighten up a bit)
concordo amigo !!
This is like watching the Marching 100s vs Boss Drummers in 03-04
Da second A&T snare player (from the right) made dat cadence funny.
9 years later this still hit 😂
what was the last cadence by a&t called
3rd pue and after the solo they went into chris cadence
i love it!!!
is dat da saits i da background? if it is get up der
quints got swag when they was marchin up and they came in lol i like that
I call it a draw! both knocked it out!
but damn that performance though
❤️🔥🥁🔥❤️
I still never really understood why black/southern drumlines have like 8- to 12 basses sometimes. Its AWESOME!
OH SHIT TUTTING THOSE DRUM STICK THAT'S FUCKING DOPE!
That was a thorough ass kickin
our percussion instructor had us play the same cadence at the begining but he just changed it a little nc A&T
Stick tutting... innovative!!!
i love the stick tricks!!!!
Awesome A&T !!! Cold Steel!
Yea Langston Zs was on point all I hots day is this video showed that quality can shut down quantity any day
Just feel I was right there with them, we have lola university ASU. North western. Clerk Alamta. The University of Chicago. And more.
You're right. Cold Steel was definitely more confident, which contributed to their victory. But they've found a way to balance entertainment and skill. This balance is why they're so popular and it's why I believe Cold Steel is the best drumline..... But that's just my personal opinion.
I liek dey're beet! it so COaL! LOL@ wHite guy awn IND o dah lighn!
smaller band had cleaner sound and they were about the music not the clownin around.
Shut yo ass lying and shii u know north carolina a&t drumline woopped they ass 🤣

Lol my mans Quincy got all in the dude's face. LMAO too funny
The middle snare for Langston looks like Danny brown
7:40 omg that shit its so fucking dope!
A&T had that all the way , I can't wait to go there!

muito bom
7:04 and 7:40 TXSU Funk Train cadence ???
dey killed it
Straight battle.. NCAT t-drums would benefit from a board under the drum to prop it up tho
Who's in the back trying to get in the battle?
Why is there tenor lined up with the snares
because nc A&T had a much smaller line so they put then together
I think I heard the Langston drumline play a cadence from Texas Southern
2nd band showed out
bom seria se no brasil tive se isso aqui
My thoughts exactly...
To each his own like. That drum corp drumline you're speaking of is a whole new different style/world. They are very tight, but aint no funk in it! I likes stank on mine.
that poor guy, his tenor is right in his face
Star wars1!!!!!!! love that cadence mhs mactowne best band in da land
That was heckkkka ssickkk

Wow, they EVEN have a "token white guy".....just like in the movie, Drumline!
Too funny!!
Clean, tight playing trumps fancy visuals anyday.
