This is what rF2 needed. I tried it yesterday - the system works well. Not only that, I really, really enjoyed the way it feels. I'd been ignoring it lately - not any more.
I like how the RaceControl system feels. Its a little more focused on fun racing and less focused to your rating numbers but still retaining the addictive progression path. The driving has been respectable and I think it shows as it focuses everyone on that race series in the hour letting them prepare but still inviting you to jump in and have a go. Its not cluttered with too much content that would spread out the player base.
I’ve got nearly 4000 hours on RF2 and I did six years of IRacing and frankly RF2 has a real shot at this. As long as there’s a ranking system, that works, you do your rookie deal, you drive clean, you move up and your race with real people. My last two years of IRACING Was fantastic, but way way too expensive for what you got
I hope it will still be active in a while. If its still active I might buy more DLC to get the full package. Always loved rF2, but the lack of online was a reason to not throw money at it.
Well, there was the guy on the stand to the left at that first race, waving the green flag as the claxon also indicated green. The green lights might just be hidden somewhere in the settings, or only visible with Trackir when you look up more. Dunno, haven't tried the beta yet. Nice racing btw
It's been about six months since I play rfactor 2.....I join the practice lobbies of the Radical sr3 and the BMW a couple days ago. It's going to take a few races for me too get use to the FFB again, because I play a lot R3E and it's FFB suits me.....plus it feels better too me. But, I'm glad rfactor 2 is getting popular again and I will be doing some more races.
This must be an alternative universe - rFactor2 with clear and good looking UI... I still have ptsd from the beta and the 1.0 version... I just wanted to mod the drivers like I did with rF1, nearly ended killing myself.
Can you help us with the FFB and other settings aswell for this game because it's kinda hard to find anything particular online? Thanks in advance, and, great video as always. Love you guys and keep up the good work!
I hope AC2 is taking notes and features a nice online system too! AC2, rFactor 2, Rennsport, I hope all those games can deliver a solid online experience. The more the better! Maybe a new era in sim racing, to follow the current nice era in real endurance racing (WEC). A man can dream...
Thanks for making this video. I can’t wait to try it out. This is my fav sim due to its realistic ffb. AI is a bit of a let down so online is the way to go for rf2!!
Please don't come to Special Effect's kart day in March... You're too quick, give us a chance!!! Great video, loving the new online system since release!!
Had server issues on the opening weekend? Who’d have thunk it In all seriousness though, this looks amazing. Will definitely check it out when it comes out of beta.
are there any forms to submit feedback for the RC content for the development team? otherwise i'll write it down here: 1. the practice server is a bit wonky. honestly not much of a problem since it's not really used and it is currently still in beta 2. the racecontrol UI relies heavily on downloading pictures for the background of racecontrol's events and i think it is unnecessary. a small banner would've suffice and would be resource friendly 3. race server still has timeout issues and "fail to download" issues which may require investigation & fixing before release. SEA player issue? 4. the post-race result doesn't show how much you've progressed on the rank nor the safety rating. the bar moves however there is no indicator such as different color (e.g orange to see pre-race progress and white to see the change post-race) so it's hard to tell how much you've actually progressed. either provide a differentiating color or use numbers instead, such as how many out of how many until next rank/rating (e.g 1500/2000 until next rank, MMR/ELO point style) 5. ingame there should be a full rank list so you can see where you are in the rank progression. PUBG has this and it's good since you dont have to repeatedly search on google to see where you are on your rank progression 6. assists are understandable for beginner races however intermediates and up should not have them (if anyone already have access to the intermediate races please confirm)
I love the gameplay. This is a 10 year old game that is constantly being developed and the graphics are almost up to Halo 2 standards on some tracks. I wonder if rF2 will ever consider hiring a graphics engineer so that PBR support can be added in the next 200 years.
I’m not a multi ranked racer, i prefer leagues but have to admit this multi system is great and addictive, and work realy better than i expect, except difficulty to join practice server, race work great, u can race close with someone with 200ping
Um yes i have tried it. I am now aware of the interesting bugs/experience of Rf2. Its a good start but the game still needs alot of work. Will probably give it another go next week once the feedback starts dripping in to the devs
Only issue I experienced was the practice server timed out, when I tried to join or after installing the content, the UI still indicates missing content. When I did join the races server, no issues though
@@ducat7493 I came to the same conclusion. Had the error more than once but when it was actually time for the race, no issues experienced. Only a skill issue from myside
It is good. However things like cars loading in as yellow boxes and the sim generally being the only game that I remember crashing on me many month, they need to sort out the jank.
It depends on the rules of that particular series. So in all of these beginner series, it’s ‘fixed’ setups so you can only change the fuel, tyre compound and brake pressure (in some cars). It’s tells you whether or not a series is fixed setup when you look at the event details/race info 😊
Why are so many sim games so old and so few have a online competitive system? This game is from 2013 and just now gets this. iRacing is from 2015 and at least does a good job of it but is getting old. ACC is newer but would be dead if not for LFM. AC2 will die if not picked up by LFM. My guess is the market isn't huge like FPS games and so not many companies want to take to plunge and the few that do don't car for competitive online racing.
If AC2 manages to add more physics complexity without ruining the end-result feeling of the cars, it will be the go-to sim for pushing the cars and enjoying driving with high-end gear. Personally every other game is some weird thing where you have to slide the car around or baby it
the game is still trash ... random disconnects during a race. They need to figure that out before letting people reviewing it. No excuse for beta .. because they already have a platform that runs for years now ...
Have you tried rFactor 2 Online (beta) yet? Let us know your questions in the comments below!
This is what rF2 needed. I tried it yesterday - the system works well. Not only that, I really, really enjoyed the way it feels. I'd been ignoring it lately - not any more.
Was certainly needed, good signs so far!

Would fully agree with your analysis personally!
Yeah the more series Iracing has the less likely I am to try a new one, because well it is likely dead.
Done a couple of races and had a lot of fun. Just need to get out of rookies to drive those BTCC cars 😅
So many exciting combo's once we get to Silver...
Hello men ! was so happy to finally get you in that chicane ! great race !!!
Was a great race throughout, well done on the move and the podium! Hopefully race again soon :)
Alrighty men!!😅

The more options the better!
Did my first race yesterday, was really impressed .
Tried this last two days and have not played any other SIM since. It's brilliant. Clean and fun. Enjoying it a lot!
Great to hear! Looking forward to getting stuck into more races in future, hopefully see you on track. :)
Biggest thing I hated about racing sims and why I only used iracing was the lack of matchmaking. Im glad another game is adding this.
It's phenomenal.
I hope it will still be active in a while. If its still active I might buy more DLC to get the full package.
Always loved rF2, but the lack of online was a reason to not throw money at it.
As someone who lives near NOLA Motorsports park it’s so cool to see it be in a online race
Amazing lift of the entire system. Thank you for sharing. Will try it as soon as I've manged to move my rig.

This is great thing for Rf2! Reinstalled the game😀
Excited for LMU now. Havent raced online for a while but this was fun.
So are we!🙏🏼

Just started on this last week after a year away from RF2, really enjoying it.
I have done just under 50 races in the last month. It's been so much fun.
This must be an alternative universe - rFactor2 with clear and good looking UI... I still have ptsd from the beta and the 1.0 version... I just wanted to mod the drivers like I did with rF1, nearly ended killing myself.
1st race last night, racing was close and clean great fun.
I now have a reason to buy the dlc when needed
Great to hear, enjoy!

Great Beta. I hope for offline championship, too.

It's really good so far. I feel all sim racing games should have something like this
they do

Now please give us Talladega and the option of having 43 people on the server. And I’ll be back to my glory days of IRacing .
Had server issues on the opening weekend? Who’d have thunk it

The BMW race was a top notch
I love the gameplay.

PBR is allready added, all new tracks and some older tracks had the pbr update

amazing comeback from RF2
I love it !
Is that a BMW M2 horde in the thumbnail
Um yes i have tried it.

Its a good start but the game still needs alot of work.
Will probably give it another go next week once the feedback starts dripping in to the devs
Don’t forget it’s a beta phase, so yes they are few bugs, but i was surprise how good were the 5 race i’ve done, GG s397❤
Agreed.
my wheel started shaking violently as soon as I joined a server
Pretty fast pace i would say, basically e sport level. Why you don't compered professionally?
Yeah this guy is fast.
love your wall sound panel! where did you get them from!?
These are from Elgato. 😊
Nyeaaahhhhh traxxion bias (kidding). God this online system is absolutely wicked. Being based in the best sim too certainly doesnt hurt
Could this take over iRacing??? I tried it briefly and loved it!!
It is good but need a lot polish, atm it cannot touch iR, i like rf2 as well a lot
If u like rookie rf2 content, u will love silver BTCC ❤
Only issue I experienced was the practice server timed out, when I tried to join or after installing the content, the UI still indicates missing content. When I did join the races server, no issues though
Seems like a common bug, hope it gets patched out of beta.
Practice server are often full but u can register and race without problems
@@ducat7493 I came to the same conclusion. Had the error more than once but when it was actually time for the race, no issues experienced. Only a skill issue from myside
its impossible to join the session, cringe 😏@@ducat7493
Is it released yet?
It is good. However things like cars loading in as yellow boxes and the sim generally being the only game that I remember crashing on me many month, they need to sort out the jank.
How may good races will it take to reach silver?
What is the HUD you are using in this video? The native one?
Yes the native one.
Can you change the car setup or are all cars the same?
It depends on the rules of that particular series. So in all of these beginner series, it’s ‘fixed’ setups so you can only change the fuel, tyre compound and brake pressure (in some cars). It’s tells you whether or not a series is fixed setup when you look at the event details/race info 😊
2:47 i wish ACC had that.
Great video thank you 👏👏 I've registered RFactor 2 please activate your email 48yrs later still no email yes I've checked my junk mail 😫😫😫
Anyone having problems connecting to LFM after installing the release candidate beta?
Game version number has changed, so you will need to go back to None in the beta to be able to use LFM for the time being
Thanks for the confirmation.
If u have a good connexion it take 30 seconds to switch between RC and stable version
I dont like how the names cover the cars. It should be the other way around.
i registred but i cant join to session, nice online new system😏
Update Verifaction just come in it was in my junk 😵💫 at 75 yrs old bear with me 😂😂😂
This will become a subscription service
Does anyone know a good setup in rf2 for moza r5?

If AC2 is relying on LFM without featuring its own multiplayer system, that will be a huge disappointment to me.
Is it normal in RF2, to go off on the grass, hit the armco, and gain time, with no apparent damage to performance ?
No, maybe in rookie series they put only 50% or less damage?
rubber bumpers min
it is too hard 4 me to play such outdated graphics. It is too much to be forgiven
the game is still trash ... random disconnects during a race.
They need to figure that out before letting people reviewing it.
No excuse for beta .. because they already have a platform that runs for years now ...
even the rookie car isn't free content
It actually is
You get it for free when creating a Race Control account and verifying your email address. All beginner races will be free content
