In fairness if you have a UA-cam channel racing cars people expect whoever is driving to do the cars justice and at least be able to drive them somewhat well.
What a waste of my time. Replaying the same segments in the first race over and over, making a 13 second race look like 60 seconds, and feel like 5 minutes. Also, learn to launch that GTR, or get someone who can actually drive a car. Unsatisfying to watch. Cheap and gratuitous. You can do better. Wouldn't watch again. 1/5.
Whoever tuned the Q60 should take a bow. Also finally a proper interior in the new gen GTR.

I own a tuned q60 red sport awd. The launch in the q60 is insane. Never looses traction even in the cold wet UK. Such good cars.
How do they hold up after driving them?

@@googlewolly YMMV of course (or YKMV?) but as an owner of an older G37, I am amazed at how well it receives daily abuse, with proper maintenance. The core engine is fantastic, however they will have stuff like stupid plastic bits in the wrong places (I am looking at you, heater hose coupler...). Cannot say that doesn't happen in other car mfg's though. All of that being said, I would suspect Nissan still lands in 3rd or 4th place for overall reliability among Japanese cars, which still ranks it well against Euro/American cars.
2010 G37 RWD, bought at 50k miles in 2018, at 115k miles currently, always doing "spirited" driving, and the only repairs have been a radiator hose replacement (at time of purchase), later a heater hose coupler, and it looks like I will need valve cover gasket(s) soon after recent spark plug change. Intake manifold/throttle body's have above average build-up, transmission could use an update, brakes were known to warp but aftermarket rotors haven't had an issue in 50k miles, fuel pump & A/C condenser a little noisy, but otherwise NOTHING. No leaks, no codes, no noises, no vibrations, no ugliness, no BS.
I am curious about their turbo's though. Will have to report back after I buy my Q60 Red Sport :-)

I remember the launch control in GTR 35, they say it will damage the car when every time you use it . the more you use it the more gear box of the car die quickly, it will also damage clutch, drivetrain, engine . I think thats the reason why they won't do it. But what do I know I don't own a GTR 35 XD😂
Nah .truth be told that infinity is tuned proper and it is faster than the gtr. Enough said.

Q60 owner here, car has full downpipes, exhaust, intakes, awd controller and drag radials. Tuned by Racebox. Also has lots of chassis upgrades that helps my 60ft times. Does 11.0-11.1@123-124 very consistently. Given that a stock GTR does similar times at a higher trap speed; the result of the video makes sense. Whoever has the better grip, will end up winning the race. I’m sure if the GTR had the same tires as me, I would have lost by a car.
Also, stop blaming the driver when the car you prefer doesn’t win a race. Sam and Dan, launched the GTR correctly with traction and transmission in R mode. Also the GTR does have a slight delay when you release the brake during launch control, it takes off a split second later. It also downshifts extremely slow when you go WOT from a roll, slower than my 7 speed slushbox :(

Hey Q60 what particular brand of exhaust u ? Is it custom y pipe and midpipe? I have the RS and lpdp , midpipe, y pipe, Tanabe axle back and ams intake and was only able to make 434 hp, and it's awd.

The Q50 is slightly lighter than the Q60 so weight matchup would be much closer
Keep the 4 doors for the family cars
Q50 is about 100lbs lighter than the Q60. Racebox has the fastest times using stock turbos.
The GTR CLEARLY needs a person that knows how to operate it. It would have won those drag races but good overall content.

Doubt it. A tuned Q60S or even Q50S can be a mid 11 second car with not much. Video is pretty accurate
After looking, tune + exhaust + intake seems to be rolling high 11s, so yeah, very possible.

There is no point in compering to cars on drag strip if you're unable to start in the same moment (I mean below 0,5sec RT) - you should be repeating such drags to have more accurate comparison. This applies to like 50% of you're videos. Don't get me wrong, I like watching your tests, consider above as constructive criticism :)

Amazing match up! The FBO racebox tuned Q60 is definitely a beast.. shows how much potential the vr30 platform offers. Nobody can do it better than Hussainn Boxwala. He is the goat for the vr30 platform.

Almost every single race the q60 seems to launch better, and that's the difference. But the GTR is slowly inching in. I don't expect a non red sport q60 can keep with the GTR. It's madness. Well done.

Q60 won because of the "driver mode". Infinity owner clearly does a lot of street racing. That GTR is a faster car and has 60hp advantage that overpowers bit less torque

I have a 500whp Q60, but I don't consider it fbo because I still have the stock subframe bushings, driveshaft, etc... Maybe he does though, I don't know. I guess when I hear FBO as someone with a lot of the big mods, I take in consideration all the things I don't have and how much improvement I would see if I were to upgrade.

@@q6_zilla I don't know why everyone is all hurt up that a tuned Q beat the GTR, the GTR in stock form is slow imo, it's only when they go fbo then they're monsters, I think it's because most gtr races that people see are highly modded GTR's, so they're used to gtr being really fast, believe it or not I race a tuned gtr too in my buddy m240i tuned and the m240i won by like a car and a half, so I don't doubt you beat the gtr too, gtr needs fbo to be the Godzilla that they're known to be.

Qs are very capable cars. This was a fun race to watch, granted we all know that a few minor mods to the GTR and the Q would be left in the dust. But, I'm sure the cost of ownership is still less for the modified Q than the GTR stock. But, damn, driving a GTR just can't be beat. Would trade my Q for one all day....

Ill reaerve my thoughts regarding the uneven starts bc its hard when your not at a track with lights to tell you when to launch..Crazy the Q60 has more torque despite the .8 liters less displacement. Got to love boost pressure
Also you can clearly tell the Q60 driver is definitely the owner bc he actually knows how to drive it compared to the GTR drivers. To be clear the GTR isn't my favorite car by far between the two I think I like the looks of the q60 more my style. I just call it as the video displays it. Kudos to both and equal tires would be the only way to know the true outcome. It's all in good fun and exciting to see.

You’re right! I can’t even begin to mention how many mechanics I know who all say BMWS are shit cars. Once they start having problems they just become a money pit of repair after repair

props to the tuner on that Q60... is that just FBO/tuned (on pump gas) or does it have upgraded turbos to hit 500bhp? Even stock GTR's are no slouch... very impressive

that extra torque that the q60 puts down gets it moving out fast. the gtr with more horsepower and slightly lighter weight and faster transmission shifts pulls on the top end. good race

Both impressive machines! The Q60S had the upper hand I believe due to more torque and better tires.
If the track was longer, the gtr would have the better edge though.

Q60S hit the rev limiter from 2nd to 3rd gear shift on the last roll race against Sam, you can hear it pop right before he changes gear. Those shifts are crucial in roll racing w/ the 7AT in Manual Mode, no short shifting gears as the engine likes to rev out!! Once again Racebox FTW!!
More info on the q60 would've been good, tune & exhaust, anything else? Was the q brake boosting on the second roll?

The trans is fine it shifts extremely fast. Wen did u see the Q jerking on the shift points ?
@@king3968 full throttle the trans does a great job I think the gearing is only slightly spaced out weird. I agree people trash on this transmission so much yet I would honestly rather this than the insanely slow and expensive single clutch on like a Lamborghini aventador
HPTuners is creating a tune for the transmission, but its not currently available.
Damn now that’s how you tune a car for 1/4 the price of a Gtr I’ll take a Q60 anyday but I love GTRS too

Dam that Q sounds nice. I have a 2017 3.0 wish mine sounds like that.
For the GTR to be as old as it is and still fights this well means Nissan was very much underrated so much it was a sin. That old engine and transmission from 30 years ago in the GTR plus it’s AWD that probably as old as the alphabets themselves were WAY ahead of their times. Kudos Nissan.

The VR is about 15 years old the Gtr frame is about 21 years old.

@@Mike-lt6sj I wasn’t a fan of the blue when I got them either but decided to keep them blue cause of the rarity of it. They’re TE37SL in Hyper Blue. Bronze would have been my colour of choice but I got a sweet deal on these

@@nighthawk0077 For 93 octane all you need is FDP (or LDP), heat exchanger, exhaust and an ECUTEK tune. Very reasonable. For E85 you'll need HPFP, LPFP, Flex Fuel kit and likely injectors on top of the pump fuel mods. E85 is where things start getting pricey (or pure turbos).

Loved this video, tuned vs a fast car. I do feel that the gtr could of had the launch timed better, account for the delay. It's terrible what Nissan is doing, selling thr same GTR since 2009 basically with different tunes and raising the price to $180k USD

That Q60 surprised the shit out of me. It was outdigging the GTR both times which is hard for even a lot of cars in the GTRs league. Then in the roll race just barely held it off. If they were doing a 1 mile race the GTR would eventually walk right on by the q60 nice race though
