Bro you’re going to put your back out if you keep lifting like that. Use the dolly and take your time. No job is worth damaging your back and ruining your health. FedEx won’t care if you injure yourself and you end up on medical disability from an injury.
This
Did you just tell the buff ass dude how to lift properly? 😂
Dolly?😂
Wtf is that!?
My trucks usually so packed that I don't have room for a goddamn dolly!
@@37Sith^^^ this ….straight facts
I’ve worked for fedex 12 years and had countless injuries, the cart doesn’t waste time I promise. Our compromised bodies are what can waste time, hurt back equals slow driver.
That's crazy he did all his deliveries in 7 minutes 🤯
😂😂
No wonder delivery drivers went on strike. No AC, shit equipment, heavy lifting that I've never even been asked to do in a factory. It's amazing you found someone who likes the job through all of it; imagine the kind of happy workers you would have if you did better.
Thanks for opinions, I hope you have a wonderful day
You have a great point. However, …possibly, someone finds this job fulfilling as a purpose beyond themselves by serving their community. Who doesn’t anxiously wait for their package? Literally, it’s true what they say…If trucking stops, everything stops. That’s no exaggeration and the truth is that all of us (myself included) take these folks/services for granted in no time flat. Additionally, compare the pay, conditions, and quality of life to 90 some percent of the rest of the world. That’s the perception I have earned in my deployments/military career.
I’m a preloader at UPS and the weight of some of these packages are absolutely ridiculous. I’ve loaded generators, refrigerators, couches, and arcade machines. There should be a weight limit.
Preach
Pfft UPS weight limit is like 75 lbs. Fedex limit is 150 lbs. Get it straight, it make a differences. Guess what UPS get's paid by the hour , Fedex gets paid by the day no matter how long it takes, most packages banged up because they have kids load the trucks.
@@matticusminot8086the packages are banged up because trucks are overloaded and being on a time limit causes packages to fly around when driving
@@matticusminot8086ups is not 75 is 150 like FedEx lol
UPS weight limit is 150 son
I had recently gotten hired for FedEx delivery driver and I still have not had my first day yet. I am very nervous Thank you for this video now I know what to expect.
Remember years ago where you weren't required to take pictures ahh good times makes the day go by faster😅
Yea simpler times for sure
The pictures are useless in finding a package that has been delivered to the wrong address and the photo consists of your package on a concrete slab taken from about a foot away, which is what happens in our area. The good thing is I get to know who all and I do mean all my neighbors are when I get their packages.
Back when you used those bulky Motorola scanners with crappy battery life 😂 good times
Great vídeo but you should stop trying to be the strong and use the dolly for those big boxes. As a ground driver believe me don't try to be the stronger 😂
Exactly! Those were the good ole days. Back when "the virus" first broke out and there was no traffic at all!
This really grasp all the main important details!! The only thing that was missing is the unmanifested package 😂.
You are not wrong
You guys work hard and don’t get any credit! Keep up the good work!
Preciate ya
Felt that 140lbs pckg and unnerving tension with the dog so close to the heel. That, "packg intended for another stop," also hits different after making movement away from the truck too. Overall very well put together vid and gives a good day-in-the-life experience
Thanks for watching! But yes…thankfully the dogs ferociousness stopped at the bark
Amazon DA here. I've been using that "Seatbelt Hack" for awhile now. Complete game changer. Good content and yes, our dollies are horrible too.
Glad to hear you are using the hack!
I was a driver helper one holiday season. It was so much fun. My driver loved to eat. We crashed so many Christmas office parties. He even cut me in on his cash gifts from his customers, even though I insisted he didnt need to do that since he works all year for those.
Did he weigh 400 pounds? lol
@@gmar7836 he was definitely over 300, but that didnt slow him down when it was time to hustle.
Dang, that looks like a super nice step-van. That's one lucky driver for sure
Yea I agree…. Mine is falling apart
@@user-ny8vs2pz1cI have a 16 foot budget truck with no shelves. Typically 150 stops and 350 plus packages a day with roughly 10 plus pickups a day.... fml
@@37Sithhow many hours you do with those 150 stops or does it vary?
@@RicardoLopez-ts3sr if it all goes smooth I'm usually doing 20-25 an hour. So a lot of stops with no hours really. That's why I just changed contractors last month. Come home exhausted and only worked maybe 6.5-7 hrs a day with drive time. And we are hourly....
Dam I need a break. I got tired watching you run lolz
You need a raise my guy!
Sheesh Preciate that my guy!
If you get a better dolly you can use it to deliver some of those heavier packages. I always leave monster sized packages by the garage.
True true
Your contractor must really like you guys. I've never seen a truck so clean. Inside or out.
Just left FedEx Friday but all the drivers I've seen on UA-cam have sweet easy routes.
It really depends based on cintractor
haha yeah my contractor keeps us at 150-180 daily for better bonuses and to keep peak easier in comparison
If I get a nice van, I will clean it up myself, with armor-all and everything! ... but that's mostly just when I get one of those custom delivery vans, Ford Transit or Ram Promaster walk-in vans. It's really nice to be driving in a pristinely detailed cab. Worth taking 15 minutes to clean it up. ... then again, I am kinda weird and I find it satisfying in a way to clean up dust and stuff.
Move around from contractor to contractor till you land a sweet route that your happy with along with sweet pay is my advice to all you new jacks out there getting into the game , it may take some time but it will be worth the wait 🤙
Truth
Great video TISX! Very Informative and entertaining! You did a great job with this one; keep up the great work!
Wow thanks for watching! Rock on!
I know this life 😅 I very rarely use the dolly, even for heavy stuff I’m usually carrying it. It’s pretty smooth overall. Unmanifested packages was a on going problem when I first started so I started scanning every package that I could at the warehouse before I take off. The best way to make your day quicker is to use the map on the scanner and get about 10-15 stops ready in advance so you can just grab & go.
and then you can promise delivery by 3:20 PM and take my hard earned money, then 4 hours later send me a notice of it being delayed til the next day.
Package intended for another stop. I hate that when I’m moving fast. 😂 Great video, shared it with my son.
Thanks for sharing it! We appreciate it
Very well made!! I’m a new FedEx driver and I’m impressed with how many big packages you had 😮😮😮
is normally a lot of big packages?
Fedex wants to corner the market on IC/oversized. Ups is happy to allow them. Great for Fedex- not for contractors.
How you liking it so far? I’m kinda nervous about applying
Ive done this job about 5 years now. While FE consistently makes life exponetially more difficult for contractors and, in turn, drivers- I still mostly enjoy the solitude and adventure aspect.
My breaking point will likely be the express integration as inefficency drives me nuts and driving the route over and over to meet times just bores and aggravates me.
That and the impending requirement for us to run the route as DRO directs. The enjoyment factor is whittled away just a bit every year.
Great video. Reminds me my days at FedEx
Hey man thanks for watching!! Where are you based? Would love to do a collab!
@@Wjoethomas Jersey baby!
Im got my drivers test tomorrow morning @ 7am. This video has helped me stay more at ease.
Glad we could help
I just took mine. I start delivering tomorrow.
@sbs4477 makevsure you stay very organized with the location ofvyour packagescand your SiD numbers. You may want to write the numbers down also to keep the tags from flaking off.
@@te9591 That’s good to know, how you liking it so far?
@sbs4477 it's really hard. I have mixed feelings. Unfortunately, my managers have assigned me one of the routes no one wants, I think, as I deliver to like 70-80 apartment stops, and sometimes can have up to like 20 ICs. The main pro i see with Fed Ex is that you dont have to pay for wear and tear and gas like food delivery. And i view it as you're being paid to work out as well. But, I need to find ways to speed up if Im going to increase my hourly and decrease my work day hours.
Come on dude, you know at 4:23 there is no way they can open the screen door.
Great vid!!
Thanks!
2:51 didnt he just say he doesnt scan in the van? lol
Yes 😂
Gave me a good idea of what to expect, thank you👍
No problem 👍
and half way up the driveway you scan and find there are 2 pkgs. always scan the first one when you grab it.
You and all of the others who provide this service are rock stars. But seriously bro, when you arrive to deliver my 262 Lb. SolarEdge battery, please ask for my help!
FedEx Ground caps weight at 150lbs. Anything larger than that will come by FedEx freight which will have additional helps.
@@LDSdevilboy4193 I’m sorry,…I meant my 150lb S.E. Battery according to the paperwork. Hahaha
lol I work for a fedex contractor and they don’t pay shit. The trucks are never that nice. You have dogs trying to attack you everywhere you go. Now they want us to show our faces for every delivery. I told my supervisor today the day the make it mandatory, I am out. She said ok. And that’s that.
This was a very informative video! Ima start fedex soon and I’m scrawny so I gotta get some muscle for those 100 lb + packages lol
Farmers are some of the most fit. You are likened to an urban farmer. Get fit using all of your muscles!
Damm, and I'm from Lafayette, Indiana...can't believe you are representing us drivers like this Bruh
Applied for FedEx delivery driver. Hopefully I get a call. This would be my dream job!!! Staying fit and lifting lol.
Where did you apply?
All y'all commenting about getting ready to start working at ground gonna quit within 3 months once you see the bullshit you'll be delivering 😂. Shit ain't right with the stuff we have to deliver by ourselves. This dudes truck is nothing compared to what its really like. Light day my dude? Tell them like it really is 😂😂😂. My best advice to the noobs is to run and never look back. Go apply at a furniture store and have another hand on what your delivering cause thats what you'll be packing around by yourself and busting your body up.
Not wrong. I'm quitting after almost 4 months...job is definitely not worth it.
Especially when they slam u and pay u by the day
this is such a sick vid
I got to work for ground for like 3 weeks until they stopped giving me hours. Anyways we had package handlers load up our trucks every morning. They were usually done by 7:30 am everyday except for busy days like Mondays.
Sorry they stopped giving you hours!! And that’s crazy!! Very early!!
Why did they stop giving you hours ?
@@InnerHealingPeace I think it slowed down a lot. I also told them that I was going to quit within a month after getting sole licensing. Good thing they got rid of me bcuz now I’m getting my CDL school payed for. I don’t have to spent $5k out of my own pocket now.
I drove Amazon Step Van for a while, lookin at either going back there are starting FedEx part time for a bit until I finish school. I learned not to park in front of people's driveways because on the few occasions I did, the resident will either decide to leave or return home at the exact same time I leave the truck,. They then proceed to immediately get pissed off and start honking.
Blocking the driveway is the safest option for the customer always, they knew they had a package being delivered.
@@Wjoethomas Yeah I know it is. Just to got to a point with people that if they have the audacity to honk at me while getting a package they know is theirs then too bad. Enjoy the wreck.
4:52 LoL. Impressive. ... This is why I love those customized cargo vans, by Utilimaster or I believe Rockport is another one that makes them. They turn nice cargo vans into walk-in box truck-like things, so the cab is super nice - which includes WORKING A/C - what a concept - and they even make the bulkhead door and walk-in door to have easy access. You can literally push a button and the bulkhead door opens. I hear the walk-in doors on the newest vans are also opened with a button, but I have not driven one of those. And when you are doing a lot of stops in one neighborhood, you can just leave the walk-in door (or bulkhead door) open the whole time for running in and out, back to the seat and going. Then when you need to cool off, just close it up and blast the A/C. ... granted that a lot of those custom vans don't have as much cargo space as the big step vans, but pretty close! And they can turn a Ford Transit 350 or a Ram Promaster 3500 into a pretty damn big box truck/van.
As a FedEx Express courier I feel bad for this dude. Normally my packages are light weight ( well at least on my route ) I've only had one package that was 140 pounds and it was a struggle getting it up to their porch because of their uneven walkway to the house and the I couldn't get the dolly up it. Never had to carry a package o. My shoulder thankfully. This guy is hot and strong 😂 Thank you for helping us out.
Thanks 😂
Guy Mistretta
Fed Ex is the only shipping company you can count on to be late 95% of the time…. I will ask in the future if merchants use them and will not buy from any companies that use them as shippers!
How many stops do you usually get per day and how much time do you finish each route per day depending on the stops?
I’m getting ready to go to work for a contractor. But I can’t run, I’m 55 years old. I have to walk at a decent pace.😢
You don’t necessarily have to run. It just get your day over quicker.

Actually that dolly had two small wheels to function as a hand truck. He didn't have fumble. He didn't know how to use his dolly.
I just got a FedEx ground job, I have Delivery Experience from TForce, they basically are contractors for Amazon or w/e. They were hectic and made us load our own vans, but driving for FedEx doesn’t seem too bad.
Also at 5:16 you could’ve just laid the dolly flat and then loaded ur boxes on there and pushed it like a push cart lol
It’s a pretty good job
do you like fedex or amazon more ?
I do 115 pick up and delivery x 400 packages everday. Very tiring. 80 percent ground.

Do u have to run like that also do u have to grab them bye hands u don't have tools to help u with heavy stuff
Never run dude, and use the hand truck, or you're gonna burn out (or hurt yourself) before long.
yea you tell him mister man
Always run.
I won't drag my feet but I'm also not running.
Umm your truck leaving the building looks like mine at about 6 pm wow so light

Damn dude left with so much self space 😂. How many stops u had? Like 30?
I just took my physical exam/dot today I believe I’ll be having my in person interview next week some time. I’m only 22 im young so I have time to see what I really want to do in life so I’ll give this job a try. But one thing I don’t want to do is destroy my back, so I’ll see how the first week goes then I’ll determine if this job is worth it.
It’s manual labor but it’s an easy job
How many deliveries do you average a day? How many hours? Is there some sort of training before they send you out on a solo route?
QUESTION does fed express gives you a time frame to finish deliving packages..........i just quit amazon.......those fkrs kill you with the number of stops and they expect you to finish at a certain time.
I prefer to scan in the truck in case theres multiple packages
WATER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND unless you want to pass out
I love working for UPS. I ain’t running like yall. No use in running if I get paid by the hour
But it’s such a great workout
@@Wjoethomas I use the gym for that
I work for FedEx ground on preloaded the trucks should be well organized when the drivers get there unless the driver loads their truck
How do you load your packages on your truck and know which one is the correct package for the stop ? Other than searching through hundreds of packages at each stop
All’ of the packages are organized by shelf labels
This was me my whole FedEx time 8years to be exact lmao smh why we do that we forget all about our hand trucks … P.s NYC is 10 Times the work No shade to you but our truck when it left the terminal was 140 stops a day lol don’t even ask how much packages and then the pickups every day will fill up your truck double work Man He at a FedEx Ground and he didn’t have to do pickups smh lucky you

What’s your average package delivery for the day? How many packages?
This was a bulk route and had about 280 packages , 12 stops
Dont make close to enough money to lift those big ass heavy boxes, the hand truck is there for a reason.i deliver on the weekends. It's an ok job for extra money but as soon as I walk in the terminal and go to my truck I get pissed off because of the stupidity of the loaders.
Just curious. What vedr cameras you have on your truck?

When did the gps guided map come ? Cuz when
I started I had to memorize my route like damn near 180 stops
Recently, it’s all Groundcloud and it makes the job so much easier
Does that mean the gos is accurate and dependable like you don't need to memorize streets very impressive 😅
i know your tired because no one appreciates these mail men and or women and delivery drivers they got the extra 100000 miles litteraly my package came from california to sc that’s a crazy drive
