He pushes her away for one reason alone. It's because he can't bare losing her all he knows is loss. She know this of course. She says in acc complete "stop running it's like your afraid of something happening that can't be undone" so when there's danger he want tifa as far away from him as possible. He runs away when he's dying and doesn't tell tifa because he doesn't want her to suffer.
He designed the outfits on some of the characters and still had his work signed off, as he wasn't Director level. He didn't help with key beats, that's just revisionism. Japanese creativity is immensely hierarchical and he was fairly junior, meaning he would never be able to steer the story as he now likes to make out.
The main point is that he had nothing to do with the brilliance of the story. He has a very specific, campy style that has plagued SE productions ever since 7.

I really like the banter between Cloud and Squall before they fight the swarm of Heartless. It shows Cloud still has his dry sense of humor, and isn't just a depressed guy like he gets stereotyped as. Plus it's just cool to see two FF protagonists fight back to back as badasses.

They both (Zack and Aerith) told him to go back because he still have his friends who love him dearly, to where he really belongs. The scene was after he defeated Sephiroth in AC. I still can't believe this game out when FFVII was eight years old almost right after Advent Children then KH3 comes out *fourteen* years later with no FF characters essentially. This really was the peak of Kingdom Hearts.

Sometimes the light and darkness stuff in Kingdom Hearts stuff can get redundant, but I really like the dichotomy this puts between Cloud and Sephiroth. Love the “I am you” line Sephiroth says to Cloud. They are almost like a Jean Val Jean/Inspector Javert combo, like two sides of a coin. They could have done more with that in the original FF7 but regardless I love that game and it’s perfect in my eyes!

@@agniecha1606 Because he thought that everyone who is trying to get closer to him will ended up dead like Zack and Aerith. So that's what he did, he distance himself, being alone. Although he still kept his phone with him because he knows Tifa always called him eventhough he never answers them. Him isolating himself because he loves Tifa and the others, too. As one way to protect them. He thought fighting alone was the best way for him to make sure they were safe.

@@LuisSR01 I believe this Promised Land was Aerith's church. That church was like a bridge that connects real world with the Lifestream. And Tifa did stated that she wants to go there and meet her too. I believe in that Promised Land, Zack was there too. Aerith said something like she doesn't want a big boy like Cloud to be her children. They both (Zack and Aerith) told him to go back because he still have his friends who love him dearly, to where he really belongs. The scene was after he defeated Sephiroth in AC. Years later in DoC, Cloud has already overcome his guilt and start moving on, continuing his job as a delivery man. Living with Tifa, Denzel and Marlene.
Still can't believe Steve Burton voiced as Cloud, loved him as Jason Morgan in General Hospital, and absolutely love him as Cloud :)

You know, after I read the video description explaining about Tifa being Cloud's "Light," I remembered that in Kingdom Hearts 1, Cloud said to Sora that he was, "searching for his light."
Does that mean that Cloud was actually looking for Tifa the whole time?
At the end of KH 1 the credits scene show Cloud finding Aerith implying he was searching for her but in KH 2 Tifa is Clouds light for some reason.

Sometimes the light and darkness stuff in Kingdom Hearts stuff can get redundant, but I really like the dichotomy this puts between Cloud and Sephiroth. Love the “I am you” line Sephiroth says to Cloud. They are almost like a Jean Val Jean/Inspector Javert combo, like two sides of a coin. They could have done more with that in the original FF7 but regardless I love that game and it’s perfect in my eyes!
