So I just thought maybe you would like to know that, for whatever reason a few weeks ago YT wedged one of your videos into my recommended vids/channels somewhere and something about the title and thumbnail made me watch it. The thing is, I have never watched a League video before, ever. But on top of that, _I've never played League of Legends in my life_ - nor have I ever felt any inclination to. After watching a dozen-or-so videos and subscribing to a channel about a game I have literally never played, I feel - for the first time in the ten years the game has been out - like maybe I _am_ missing out on something. Making something as deep as a competitive MOBA so logical and rationally understood is no easy feat, and I really thought you should be commended for how clean, interesting and educational your videos are on this subject. You have done what dozens of friends could never do - made me interested in LoL.

Because he's one of the few champs to have multiple build options that serve very different roles AND can work effectively consistently. He showed the lethality build cuz it was a short segment and it's honestly more fun to watch. often times alternate build paths follow these two patterns (with examples) -Kai'sa: (AP vs AD) both are damage dealers just vary on damage type. TL;DW Anivia: Almost unchanged since 2009, straight up a mid range scaling mage, arguably boring, but with loyal and admirable players. The wall is the best part. Thresh: Most popular support, fun, flashy, exciting to watch, fluid and smooth gameplay **new lore**. Unlike most other popular champs, feels the most fair. Perfect versatyle and fun kit. Jhin: Best character design in the game, very loved, a different playstyle adc. Good learning curve. Good skins and lore. Fun ult, fun boy. Maybe unbeatable design. Jinx: Fun, cool and crazy feeling character and kit. Most seen league video. Maybe most popular league character. Good comeback potential. Good learning curve and scaling, and fun ultimate. Nami: Most fair champion in the game (or at least enchanter). Q is a really fair skillshot. Hardly ever a bad pick, very versatile. Lee Sin: Overloaded, probably shouldn't be on the list, gets the spot for design only. Most popular champ of all time, and ever present in every league tier. Fun, versatile, and exciting champion. Maybe best representation for league. Orianna: Jack of all traits mid-laner. Rarely ever feels bad to play against. One of the most exciting ults in the game. Shen: Balanced like in the lore. Not too much damage and high potential for impact over the game, (or useless deppending on the player). Fun and skill expressive tank. Sion: Maybe the only tank to let a lot of skill and oportunity shine through, unlike most tanks. Fun builds and one-tricks. TF: Faker said tf should be learned by any mid laner because it teaches you to look at the minimap and play the game. Not strong laner, plays the map. Needs to be good at the game to succeed. Warwick: Best rework ever. From most boring champion in the game to fun, interactive gameplay, and preserved kit and identity. Some bugs in there. Xerath: Teaches you to skillshot and dodge. Best scripter champion because it rewards you the most for accurate skillshoting. Always room for improvement with the ceiling being scripters.
Thresh just about made me quit the damn game until I gave up and started playing him myself. Now that I've come back to the game I see Pyke and just.. here we go again man..
@@foxthorn3072 but like Exil Said, Thresh is fair, Pyke is straight up ridiculous if you don't have a Morgana/Sivir. Guy does more damage than the carry, has a Darius ult, restores his hole HP and gets invisible
Has anyone told you that your videos are always so well scripted? I really like to watch your videos because it is so fun to just listen to you, no matter the subject, I think you are really putting a lot of effort into making the script, so keep it up!
@@petrohex Buddy, she has a billion stats. She is overloaded. Has tons of mobility, tons of damage, suvivibility and she is easy to play. Exil even made a detailed video about her if you are really that interested.
@@petrohex can't really justify how overloaded her kit is based on solo que alone. 48% wr is quite high considering it is bloated due to her popularity meaning people who don't know how to play her well is dragging it down.
EDIT 1: HI just wanted to say I was going to include Bard in the video but his design is so cool and interesting he will get his own seperate video, I cut him out at the last second since he needs more than 90 seconds. Sorry for any confusion but we will talk about him dont worry! Edit 2: Just as a note, if I were trying to be more unfair and add more personal bias, my list would have also added champs like Morgana Kled Graves Janna (with her new W max setup and the mini rework not that old E spam) Ahri Brand Vel'Koz Lux and maybeeeee Senna idk she seems fair and really cool but not sure yet! However I know a lot of people dislike many of these champions and I totally get that, just some food for though if you were curious! Hope you enjoyed :)
Kindred is my all around favorite jungle. Lamb and wolf's voice when marking the hunt always makes me giddy and untiltable. Which makes mo not prone into fucking up sometimes lol.
Yooo both of my top mains Jinx and Nami here! Nami actually got me to Gold for the first time this year, you are spot on with her ability to fit well in almost every team comp. I always feel pretty flexible when I play her. Jinx actually got me into the game because of her music video, and she really is a delight to play.
Bard is literally perfect. His kit is simple but hard to master. A good Bard player will easily gank your lane, initate teamfights, save your carries, aid your frontline and all else. His outplays feel unique and are distinct from the others and are very skill expressive. He is a Jack of all trades, but his skill floor makes it so you can't just pick him up and win right away. For years now he is sitting on a healthy winrate. He is also adorable.
if League of Legends was all one champion, and that champion was Zed Id probably play it LoL more. He sits on that perfect boundary of intricate and simplicity.
Honestly, the best thing about shen in my opinion is that he teaches you how to play top, his kit isn't overloaded while still being interesting, he teaches you matchups, map awereness, powerspikes, has very flexible builds and runes (tank with grasp/aftershock, dps ad bruiser with trinity force, frozen mallet and hail of blades), and so on
In my opinion, Jhin is the #1 most well designed champ in the game. Cool playstyle, takes planning as well as some mechanical skill, cool theme and amazing release
Okay but lets talk about Camille, her lore is cool and her kit and model is connected to it. Her kit is fair and it really gives you the spy-feeling and fantasy shes presented as in the lore and lets not forget her log in screen music, its literally spot on with her personality.
She's too hard to learn how to play properly and master and only good in certain match ups. Most of the champs in the video are more all rounders, not too hard to learn, can fit in most team comps, not too OP in late or early game.
@@danielkubicek9108 I think Aatrox was the worst rework simply because it wasn't a rework. They just made a new character. Besides, I think Urgot wasn't creepy, he was fun to laugh at, but I had no fun playing him and I thought he was annoying to learn. New Urgot is more friendly + his design looks MUCH better. RIP Aatrox though
I am so glad that Jhin and Orianna got mentioned! Jhin's design was just so amazing, from all the hidden files up to his release, it was an awesome journey and his character was so satisfying so it was the perfect cherry on top. And Orianna is always so balanced, her kit is not always easy to adapt to but it feels great to master the positioning of your ball and utilize it perfectly.
There were times she was kinda busted, but she was always fun. Also champion from 2011 that has remained unchanged, except stat tweaks here & there. And yeah Jhin release was so hype!
LMAO Exil you jebaited me so hard with Yasuo. 2:53 was literally “They had us in the first half, not gonna lie...” 😂 Besides, your videos are always well-edited and top notch. Keep it up! :)
Just started binging your videos. I'm actually happy that Nami was in this list, she's so underrated that people underestimate how effective of an enchanter she is especially if the ADC needs to close a gap.
"You thought I was done !? Kled ain't never done !" Legit some of his words when he is about to die, in my opinion Jhin and Kled have the best Quotes in the game, I was disappointed when He didn't make it into the list . What I really like about his quotes is that he just says them at the perfect time, unlike any other champ who randomly repeats the same quote . another instance is for example : I am gonna cut ya open and use your spines as a back scratcher, Because it is itchy, VERY ITCHY ! Let's not mention that's he's the only unique champ that interacts with his mount, which can lead to some sick plays and he's surprisingly fun to watch
Honestly I like old Eve more. She could go AP, on hit AD, or tank when you wanted to. Her Q and E were a lot simpler, yes, but still fit her play style. New Evelyn just feels like a generic assassin now. Sorry, but I honestly feel like her old form held more interest besides WEQQQR. I loved how I could kite with her old kit as a tank/adc or burst with her ap assassin style. There’s not many champs now that can have two complete styles without being overbearing.
@@Exil22 ah sorry didn't see the pinned comment, if you need any input for your video I'm a master's bard that has been 1 tricking him since he came out I'm your guy😄
Rengar and Kha'zix are prolly my favorite champion designs in my opinion. They fit the moba genre perfectly and synergize with the layout of the map. You can sit and brush and prey on your enemies, or sneak behind and pounce on your kill. One gains a reward for hunting enemies and the other evolves throughout the game. I just love how both champions have kept their uniqueness towards themselves and haven't been given an overloaded kit like most releases nowadays.
Personally, I would like to add Ekko to your list: - His visual design is and how well it reflects his story is Top 15 imo - His abilities are like no other (aside from his 3 hit passive) - Arguably the most dynamic and mobile assassin, alongside Zed - While he wasn't very balanced on release and during Tank Ekko meta, he's been sitting comfortable at 50% winrate or below for a really long time. Only recently did he actually become a strong option.
Well, i coudnt disagree with you more. I personally like Ekko too, but thru the years he dosnt seen to fit to a defined category of champion. I mean, sometimes he was played like a fighter, tank and assassin. Mid, top or jungle? His kit is nice, but the champion itself cant find his way.
Awesome video as per usual. I always though Darius, while having balance issues, was a really well designed champ post rework. He feels like the perfect juggernaut and really captures the feeling of a raidboss. He also has some counter-play to his kit with his q and he feels pretty fair with his stack mechanic and his vulnerability to kiting. Thats just my opinion though.
Agree, he's an incredibly well designed champ. He just suffers due to the number of champs who've been made hyper mobile and are/and ADCs with waaaaay too much DPS meaning he just needs to be a massive stat ball who will 2 shot kill you when ahead- but weirdly will still die if the enemy team has a thresh or Alistair. A very oppressive champ in the right circumstances and always terrifying to play because he might just get a series of back to back 1v1s and 1v2s or a 1v1 into a teamfight and just ruin your team, but he requires really good positioning and fight picking from the person piloting him and if you know the matchup well he has a lot of counter play on many (not all, Mundo) options. The Vlad matchup comes to mind, where the average Darius blasts the average Vlad in lane but where the Vlad can just play perfectly and never even be in danger while CSing and outscaling.
@Daddy Thanos Katarina can also punish your entire team for giving her one reset while also having a leap, so you cant just stay away from her when you're low
As a jungle Main, i love Junglers, that are interacting with jungle-Elements, such as Kindred, who gives Counter jungling a bit more fun, Poppy, who interacts with walls and makes it so fun to use in a jungle encounter, etc. Both of those champions arent op, but they are so funny to play, because the jungle is not only an exp farm, but rather an objective to use to your advantage
While I am not gonna say she is one of the best designed Champions in Leauge I must point out that Morgana is pretty much the same now as Beta, her resent VU gave her some moment speed on R and a bit change to her W, but that is less change that Kennen and Anivia have received over the Years :P
Azir and Ekko are pretty amazing. Azir's voice acting, the mighty "emperor" theme and ordering soldiers to attack... I initially picked him up solely because of his quote when he spawns a soldier: "Soldier, onward!". I like Ekko but maybe that's because I'm a sucker for the idea of time manipulation, but the idea of him returning to where he was 4 seconds ago was very new to me.
@19:32 i feel like velkoz fits entirely with the same reason for why xerath is so well designed. The skill expression while being fun and effective is all very similar between the two
I think the one knock against Velkoz is that xerath did it first, so when Velkoz was released, there wasn't a lot to make him unique. Also Velkoz didn't really have a place in league until his passive got changed to deal true dmg and help shred tanks.
I'm surprised Bard was not on this list, he has never had anything really done to him. He's always been a good champion no matter what, he's so flexible from being a support to full ap to ad. And over all such a cool character for lore and design.
this is one of the best scripted videos i every saw ... this video alone made me sub to you and now i want to know what other great videos you have even if they would have nothing to do with league i think i would still love them because this video is just so well done
And Senna doesn’t look like a support. She also has too much sustain, a pyke like invis, and a stack passive. Basically it’s everything I hate about Riot going into these “hybrid champs”. Kindred? Good. Ahri? Good. Akali, Qiyana, Pyke? Broken designs. They initially gave Akali, an assassin, a stun on her ult. They thought THAT was a good idea.
@@BCBigCoyote they removed Kassadin's silence a long time ago because it was unhealthy. And they have done a few mini reworks on Ahri's charm a few times. And Both Ahri E, and Ekko W is much easier to dodge than Akali R. However Ahri is pretty unfair to play against rn, but that is because of Glacial augment not Ahri's kit herself. Can't Say the same for Akali, Qiyana and Pyke.
When you play her The Rift becomes your playground! The million ways you can extend her Q damage and combo the abilities. And the most adorable laught in league...
Fam you're gonna make me cry with this old Shen footage. I loved old Shen and his rework killed the champ for me. He is still second among all my champs in terms of champ mastery and I haven't played him since the first month or two of reworked Shen.
Personally my favorite champion overall is xerath and I’m going to be making a case for him here. Xerath shares the spot with lux for the definition of a long range mage. But while lux only needs to hit one ability to insta burst you, xerath is much more skill expressive than Lux and can do more damage if you hit your skill shots. He has awesome lore an the best dance in the game (eat your heart out Kayn and orhn) his damge and range are obvious strengths but his low mobility and reliance on skill shots makes him extremely fair to play against. Overall show this champ some love he definetly deserves it (we need a dark star xerath skin rito pls)
I know i'm a bit late to the party, but i agree with Jhin being on the list a 100%! It's no surprise that he's incredibly balanced, but the fact, that you just simply can't go apeshit with him when snowballing, as you would with a jinx, a varus or even a caitlyn makes him one of the most skill expressive adcs throughout the entire game. You have to evaluate risks, being incredibly precise with your basic attacks and abilities, and you can turn into a solocarry anytime because of the good game design. During the laning phase, you literally have to count your basic attacks subconciously all the time. Evaluating if a trade or a quick catch would be good for you on the long run or not. Lacking escape spells, relying on movement speed and a decent CC (which is a skillshot by the way) means you can counter him pretty well, but also, if your dodgeing mechanics are on point, there is no chance that anything will hit you aside from point and click spells. It's incredibly fun to play, and is not too punishing to play against, as long as you identify his weakpoints. Good job Rito, you did something great at least!
My favorite champion from a design perspective (and as a main at some point) is actually Rumble. He's easy to learn and hard to master, with straightforward and easy to use basic abilities, that only deal good damage when you manage your heat properly. Also they all serve a distinct purpose: Q for consistent damage and waveclear, W for escaping or tanking hits, E for slowing an enemy to escape or chase them. He has all kinds of combos for every situation, which you need to use correctly (and remember how much heat they give you), you can't just spam. Once you picked up how to use which ability, you need to master your ultimate. It's a weird and unusual hit box, and it can be easy to completely miss it, but if you hit that sweet, sweet money, this ability will win you games. What I like most is that positioning is key. You have no blink, no jump, just a very weak and short boost to movement speed, so you really need to know where you must be for every situation. Also he's very fair, he is kind of a lane bully, but not nearly as oppressive as others, and very easily beaten by ganks, because he has no jump. And he doesn't even really snowball. Sure, he can get fed, but his clear weaknesses are easily exploited by an expierienced player. And even if Rumble gets behind, because of his high base damages, he will always have some impact, it never feels like you're totally useless. I never cared much about lore, but Rumbles design clearly means that he is some kind of mini person who made up for it by building a huge mech in which he fights against evil or whatever. Every ability reflects that, Rumble build everything in this mech by taking stuff from a scrapyard and building weapons out of it. And you really feel that by playing him, he feels kind of wonky and weird at first, but once you get a grasp on how to use this scrapyard mech, you feel much more rewarded, because you just killed an elite Noxian general with something built out of scrap metal and steam machines. And after you played a bit with Rumble, he actually feels very smooth to play.
This is a great list, Jinx Jhin Thresh Anivia Nami Warwick are all champs I love playing, and don't get mad getting beaten by. They're all fair and skill expressive without feeling frustrating. The one i'd personally add is Gnar, I absolutely love his kit, and he's one of the only champs who I find fun to play, win or lose. Great video!
Id argue having ashe on this list for reasons similar to tf. If you can play ashe you can play any adc. Having no escape but a constant slow forces you to understand the power of kiting, proper auto attack canceling and stuttersteping. Her e also plays into learning the jg rotation and understanding pathing and where to use it. A normal ashe is an adc. A great ashe is a kiting god with constant vision of objectives and the posibility of picks with her r. Ty for listening to my ted talk...
Something that made me realize how much I love Jhins design, his voice lines and acting is the BEST in the game. Yeah that line when you select him in champ select, “something something something, like a flower, something something” is just insane. I can’t remember the quote, but that line stands out to me so much, absolutely 10/10.
With Warwick... it’s really hard to tell when exactly his w will actually give you movespeed, because sometimes it will show you that an enemy is low enough, but with no movement speed debufs, there are situations where you still don’t get the bonus speed...
Ok Jhin is here so my life is fullfilled. I like the fact that Jinx is here too And I agree with Thresh, I find his design great as well as gameplay, I love having Thresh and HATE facing him :s (And love playing him adc but sssh)
basically all the champs that have a defined strenght and weakness and decend backstory and desing. Totally opposite of broken token characters like yone and samira made purely for skin shoving.

Just started binging your videos. I'm actually happy that Nami was in this list, she's so underrated that people underestimate how effective of an enchanter she is especially if the ADC needs to close a gap.
If Jhin isn't in this, I'm gonna start a riot
Edit: Yay, Jhin's in it :D
hehe, riot
For me, one of the best reworks riot has done was Evelynn's
I agree. Very well handled.
AWanderingSwordsman and now I main her and just simply love her
she is just so fun to play and she isn´t that unfun to play against if you play well
Swing Swong You Are Wrong.
I like how he mentioned bard as if he had already added him to the list but then wasn't in the list at all why did you remove bard from the list?
Canadian Kindness I thought I was hearing things.

My boi thresh getting on this list makes me happy. I’ve always felt his kit just fits so perfectly together and I’m glad it’s realised
I fell in love with thresh & orn ever since I first played them. They're so fun and can actually do damage as tanks.
Love thresh too
Having best design means being also balanced, thresh is arguably balanced and ornn is still broken after 6th nerf
Personally, I would like to add Ekko to your list:
- His visual design is and how well it reflects his story is Top 15 imo
- His abilities are like no other (aside from his 3 hit passive)
- Arguably the most dynamic and mobile assassin, alongside Zed
- While he wasn't very balanced on release and during Tank Ekko meta, he's been sitting comfortable at 50% winrate or below for a really long time. Only recently did he actually become a strong option.
Well, i coudnt disagree with you more. I personally like Ekko too, but thru the years he dosnt seen to fit to a defined category of champion. I mean, sometimes he was played like a fighter, tank and assassin. Mid, top or jungle?
His kit is nice, but the champion itself cant find his way.
the swain rework was pretty good imo
Awesome video as per usual. I always though Darius, while having balance issues, was a really well designed champ post rework. He feels like the perfect juggernaut and really captures the feeling of a raidboss. He also has some counter-play to his kit with his q and he feels pretty fair with his stack mechanic and his vulnerability to kiting. Thats just my opinion though.
Thank you and yeah darius is cool!
Idk, he's a champ whose ult can severely destroy the idea of a 5v5 game.
I think hes fair but he often doesnt feel fair to play against.
"Did you saw our world performance?"
- What performance?
mans was like “Like we discussed earlier with Bard”
Azir and Ekko are pretty amazing. Azir's voice acting, the mighty "emperor" theme and ordering soldiers to attack... I initially picked him up solely because of his quote when he spawns a soldier: "Soldier, onward!".
I like Ekko but maybe that's because I'm a sucker for the idea of time manipulation, but the idea of him returning to where he was 4 seconds ago was very new to me.
Bilegjargal yes but azir kit design is fun but awful to balance. It’s either op or awful so riot had to make him bad to make other people have fun
Thank you I really appreciate that...

Good list, however; Braum: am I a joke to you?
His design is crappy honestly. Either overpowered or very underwhelming. He's clunky as heck.
guy who designed Jihn also designed Senna, just sayin :D
And jinx
and Ornn..........
@@VVheeli Ekko has a stun, Kassadin has a silence, Ahri has a charm. Just because they are an assassin does not mean they can't have cc
Zoe can easily compete with Jhin thematically. Her kit is perfectly matched with her champion theme.

At this point we need anything for Xerath, my poor baby hasn't got a skin in almost 4 years

I’m so happy shen was here, he’s my favorite champ by far
wasn't really sure where that comparison at the end was going at first but I'm glad I stuck around for the final message, great vid!
I love that ppl dislike the video and do not even press play, keep up the good work
haha yeah it's alright though thank you!
Dam no mention of my boy Aurelian Sol alright XD
A lot of people tend to think his kit is weird.
I mean... he looks cool I guess.
Awesome content, man! Just found your channel, and have been binging all your videos! Keep it up 👍🏽
