Scott McNeil voices almost everybody in this expansion including Boreale, Stubbs and Carron. Shows how much good direction matters. Just for prespective's sake he also voices the entirety of the imperial guard, Sindri, Bale, the Demon Prince, Servitors and Space Marine sergeants, the Chaplain and even Davian Thule.
@@nildzrecastellanos Hehe, guy had fun too(steve blum and dobbs brothers as well). Perhaps that's why vance stubbs is held in high regard by some (shame they removed him from voicing chaos sorcerer after basegame, but they made up for it in soulstorm and dow2 expansions).
As for how it works; whoever captures 2/3 of all Critical Locations, starts a countdown until their victory. As this map has 5, you have to capture and hold at least 3. Most such maps in "Soulstorm" have 3, few have 5. And no, there's no instant win if you capture all 5.
13:18 - Ancient Gates are in fact made by Eldar. Their technology in the past (millions of years before humans existed) became so advanced that they were terraforming planets on whim, and on some of them they've built those gates as shortcuts for space travelling (think of Webway as like metro railways, Ancient Gates as like metro stations, and Warp as like underground that surrounds those railways). It also explains why some planets in Warhammer 40k are habitable - it's because those Maiden Worlds were supposed to be colonized by future generations of Eldar, but they in meantime turned to sadistic cults and basically destroyed themselves, leaving younger races to compete for them instead.
A couple of things: - going for the Eldar Stronghold like you originally planned is indeed the optimal course of action: moving through territories one at a time is indeed wasting time and turns, and the remaining enemies usually get tougher and tougher Honor Guard as you go through (usually, one enemy per campaign does this); - you can clear Take and Hold missions faster by wiping out the enemy completely, and I do mean *completely*: no unit or building, not even listening posts, can remain standing - the Ork Stronghold power is so slow it will never matter and the Tau one is unfortunately bugged so that it doesn't work at all :(
well eldar base is tough they attack your base from two side and and wrapping in behind your base. and worst attacking your base with warp spiders. and very long fight so let him play how he wants. besides fighting space marines going to be memey and funny.
@@norimannorman7009 Of course I'm "gonna let him play how he wants", I'm not giving him orders, lol, just suggestions, partly based on known bugs, partly based on good conclusions he has already drawn himself. The Eldar do attack you from multiple directions, it's true, but so do most of the other races in their Strongholds, so I don't think that's too much of a deciding factor, tbh. Plus, I suspect you're saying this precisely because you do want him to go to the Space Marine's base because of the dialogue, which... lol, sure, but he will get to them as well eventually; it's not like doing the Eldar first means he will never face the infamous Commander Boreale.
Sorry I im playing soulstorm myself and fight eldar first as sisters of battle and dark eldar it was crazy warp spiders teleporting in your base guys attack from the flank and worst dark eldar don't have turrets and few detection units there I got attack by eldar from in the middle of my base it was crazy because of the webway portals.
@@norimannorman7009 Yes, it is a lot, especially if you don't know the Stronghold prior and therefore don't know where their Webway Gates are; as a hint, there's a very specific stone structure which kind of looks like a bent thumb and is repeated throughout the map: that's where their Webway Gates are, although you'll have to destroy the Barrier Generators to reveal them (more will be revealed as you destroy them).
And capturing every point won't speed stuff. Also this gate missions can be won by annihilating EVERY enemy unit and building on the map. Although, any variant will take nearly 20 minutes.
Just discovered that you're playing this! Great! Dawn of War 1 is my favourite RTS! I even contributed to the bugfix mods (and boy did it need bugfix mods...) and lent my voice to some race mods. Too bad you've been duped into following the will of the Corpse Emperor rather than seeing the glory that is the Runious Powers but I'm sure I'll enjoy this regardless!
It's not how many CLs the enemy has; the bots are literally called "Computer 1" and "Computer 2" (the second one is only there if there's a second base).
Told you gate maps are tough. Ofc celestians look cool, they are the only ones (aside fron canoness with gear) who wear helmets (not having one in-universe can be unhealthy), and not having some plasma stuff does hurt them a bit. Ahm, they're not anti-all, very few units (i think tau cmdr(with plasma rifle), ork warboss, de raven, demon prince, essence of nightbringer and deceiver are amongst them) are (relic is big on given weapons being good against stated targets and only them, if you take a look at celestians atk-ing the force cmdr and chaplain, they took way more dmg from power swords than meltas). On meltas, either use meltaguns(shorter range) or multimeltas(better range) solely so everything is consistent. Sororitas (you can use that term for the sisters) also had dominion and retributor squads on tt(they are all heavy guns, celestians was chosen as such here, like immortals for necron even tho they actually anti-infantry on tt). I think 3rd edition was at the time this game was made (more on that later).
The necrons builder scarab is the only unit that they have to capture points they have a unit call a wraith which can uncapture points but cant then capture them
I understand how people who have played with it find it incredibly noticeable/irritating. At the same time, zooming the camera out will severely impact the viewer experience, particularly on mobile which is like 75% of all views.
@@JayborinoPlays To be fair the good animations and suprising model details (for the time at least) is part of the visual appeal of Dawn of War and would be kind of lost to higher camera zoom anyway.

space marine base is easy if you know the whole map is being lead by deep strike by beacons destory them to stop the attack on your base and make sure you have a lot of anti infantry terminators squads are every where and a new units the space marines have is the land speeder tempest air unit that attack your base from the left. and rhinos are transporting units to your base to attack so take out rhino base at on the right to stop this from happening [recommanded] is all up to you to find your way to fight good luck.
He’s getting close to the infamous Boreal Speech
On one hand, not playing as Space Marines gives you the speech, on the other hand, playing as Space Marines gives you BOREALUM. Oh well, STEEL RAIN.

You can click the Diplomacy menu (the DIP button on the top right) to see how many bases the enemy has during a mission
