- Kiana's journey continues as she stays at the best hotel in The Philippines - The Manila Hotel. I love that place and will be frequenting it every six months as I travel back to my home.
Yes there are newer, more modern, & over the top, 5 star hotels here but what set Manila Hotel apart from the these are its history, legacy and old world charm. It's a national treasure. A witness to some important events in Philippine history. Thanks for this video. Love the interior it looks so grand and classy.
There may be lots of better hotels in the Philippines than Manila Hotel, like what people are saying. But Manila hotel's significance to history is incomparable to the new 5-star hotels.. It still has its classy vibe and elegance since 1912.

That's also the oldest hotel in the Phil. and very historic. Douglas McArthur lived there.

the breakfast buffet at manila hotel is excellent, the bed is very comfortable, the lobby with the orchestra is superb but i find the bath tub small and if u have a room facing intramuros, i can hear the traffic.

Kiana Thank you for sharing this. I have driven past the Manila Hotel many times going to and from the airport over the years. Did you get to see the Mac Arthur penthouse at the top? I have been told that only the biggest of the big shots get to stay up there.
Actually, I have not seen the MacArthur penthouse, but the hotel staff reserves my room on the 17th floor, (just one floor under the penthouse) every two months that I go there to stay. My Dad had something to do with the hotel during WWII so that's why I am so fond of it.

I think the best hotel right now in the Philippines is The Shangrila at the Fort in Bonifacio Global City. But hey, best is subjective so to each his/her own. Last time I was in that hotel was more than 2 decades ago and from the looks of it they really made a lot of improvements.
Thanks for the info, Dark_Raven. I'll look into The Shangrila. Yes, they made a lot of changes to include the huge tower in the back. I remember staying there in 1982, and love the new changes. Filipino hospitality is at its best at this hotel.

I was born at Mactan Base, Cebu back when my Dad was working with the Philippine Army before the Vietnam war. So... I am proud to have this connection with The Philippines and own a house in Cebu.
The room rates really vary A LOT! The rooms can go from $88 a night during the typhoon months (or what used to be normal typhoon months - July thru beginning of Nov) all the way to about $160 a night at this time of year. I think I paid $150 a night for my next trip starting Monday Jan 16. God bless and take care!

Actually Manila hotel isnt the best hotel in the philippines there's a ton of world class hotels in the philippines like conrad, shangrila, diamond hotel, solaire, and so much more☺.

it's the best not just because of its service and elegance but also because of its history.
Only Manila Hotel has that nostalgic vibe, uniquely Filipino...rich history you can feel and breath. None other has that.

John Ball it can vary between $100 to as high as $285 a night. I usually pay about $100 a night and that includes taxes. I hope this helps you make a decision to stay at The Manila hotel. It's really a fantastic experience.

Hi Peter. Your point is well taken. I am biased. I have only stayed at a few hotels throughout The Philippines so I cannot compare, as per your examples. I guess anyone could classify my rating to be like: "This is the best ever fried chicken around", or "The new Lexus sedan is the best car on the road". My rating is just based on my opinion .
