I normally use home-made limoncello to soak the biscuits. Delicious! But sometimes I mix half milk, half rum (or bourbon), add some sugar and a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon, and soak the biscuits in that... very festive! Or add a bit of coffee for that tiramisu flavour... :D Any combination of dry and candied fruits and nuts can be put into the ricotta mix. I love dry figs and candied lemon and orange peel in it. And pistachio. Lovely stuff! The possibilities are endless!
Ah such a toast to good life and the good and small things that life has to offer. In Brazil we have that same italian desert with out the coco pouder. Regards from Brasil
