I have nerver heard such a beautiful sonata! He surely will be a great pianist of the world. Thank you for uploading. I liked all Blechacs's Chopin performances.
This is just so good. He really draws in you in from the first phrase. Just something about the way he articulates the eighth note runs after the rest gets me every time. I get goosebumps.
For those who are not musicians Chopin is by far the totality elastic composer for piano. From a child his music like none other transported me beyond places unimaginable. The fluidity of his ideas and outright weird progressions but always undeniably right dazzles and excites intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. The opening movement of this sonata signals a level of novel expression with subtleties and nuances that escapes all ability to predict or anticipate by normal logic. He as no other composer conceptualizes states of power and beauty translating them for all mankind to behold and wonder for all time. This pianist thoroughly understands and captures very admirably What Chopin meant in vision, execution and spatial grace. What nobles ideas! What charismatic poetry! What a supreme gift to every music lover! Paul W. green
Would to God! If I could have been an audience member at this debut. What an absolutely heady mix of avant-garde inspired off-the cuff rhapsodized improvisation. Every head in the hall must have turned on many novel angles. He must have smiled a number of sardonic smiles while practicing this almighty beast with Great satisfaction to have arrived at such a spellbinding solution to audience fatigue! Chopin was THE MAN! PWG
His sensitive touch and elegant phrasing impart a refined mix of solemnity and scincillation in this piece of music. He must have studied the recordings of Lipatti and Zimerman in great detail.
I think this polonaise played by Blechacz is the expression Chopin wanted. Warsaw soldiers who risk their lives to the battlefield need such intensity of emotions, anger at war, and a passion that inspires soldiers to return to the country safely.
He won the mazurka, sonata, polonaise and concerto prize, as well as the actual champion. He is the only one who can do it in the whole Chopin competition history.
@@enochwong654 The Sonata prize was not awarded that year. No more than three special prizes at a time have been awarded in the Chopin Competition's history.
If he were a pretty Asian girl, this would have three million hits or more - this is at least as good as Ducable's recording, which I consider the standard to judge all other performances by: Garrick Ohlsson's is amazing too but his scales have always been a bit sloppy (way better than mine will ever be!) but his touch and phrasing are stellar. This is superb.
Were you drunk? The third prize was awarded ex-aequo for The Lim Brothers! It was actually only politic shit that prevented Ingolf Wunder from the final round.
It's a pleasure to watch him.
:D
Wspaniałe i ponadczasowe. Muzyka Chopina będzie zachwycać wiecznie. Dzieło stuleci i symbol naszego narodu polskiego ❤️
Perfect performance of Rafal Blechacz , well done

Wspaniałe wykonanie genialnego pianisty - tak, genialnego!
Genialne wykonanie, można słuchać i delektować się Szopenem. Dziękuję Panie Rafale.
If I believed such things as incarnation I would say Blechacz is Chopin incarnated, for he is Magnificent and Perfect

It's not a Polonaise 😅
Simply amazing
His phrasing of the second theme is so imaginative!
Great performance .
Wonderful.

Two third place prizes were awarded. No second place.

Meraviglioso ascoltarti una nonna italiana ciao
"They're not at their house because I'm not there." That may help you remember.
what is phrasing? someone kindly explain? totally blind about the technical terms.
Phrasing is how you speak a sentence of music. Delicate phrasing is very important.
He has huge hands
Were you drunk? The third prize was awarded ex-aequo for The Lim Brothers! It was actually only politic shit that prevented Ingolf Wunder from the final round.
Yea the Lim brothers won the third prize actually
There was a third prize awarded, wasn't there? I read somewhere that a guy from South Korea was awarded second, but I may be mistaken.
mec minda ase rom vukravde :'( he is really good musician
*There, not 'their'.
Second prize was not awarded but third prize was awarded to two korean pianists, who are siblings. just letting you know.
There is not enough soul and refinement in my opinion. Try Daniil trifonov.
Lua3648 I agree. Gilels (DG studio Recording) is simply outstanding here... Unfortunately not on YT.
