- One of the best racers of its era, what if Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition was remastered for this generation's consoles? I find out using Forza Horizon 3.

Growing up MC3 was probably THE street racing game to play, with its massive (for the time) open worlds, licensed customization parts, and a great variety of cars.
This "remaster" took longer to create because of the complexity of layers for the menus (and my laptop constantly freezing during editing), but in the end I think it was well worth it.

Of all of the great songs in this game they picked this song for its intro...
Two had a great cgi FMV but still no more memorable a song.
LA didn't even have a proper main title intro.
The first one had the best intro combined with real gameplay, and live action video set to a majestic song.
It's amazing how great audio queues were back in mid 2000s era of gaming, the minute you prompt something there was always a set of specific tunes and tracks that would play it really would add so much to the game.
When this game gets remastered, I'm gonna buy it the first day, haven't played this game in 10 years

Respect. This game was the first thing I ever got butterflies in my stomach for as a kid. I've been chasing that feeling again my entire life to no avail. Maybe one day I'll find something I love as much as I loved this.

@@FritosTheBean55 I was just googling and UA-cam searching things about old PS2 racing games and almost every review/retrospective in the last year or so either mentions this game, or specifically states that they believe this is the quintessential PS2 arcade racing game
I dont think so. Also it couldn't possibly be on a level with midnight club 3 or any other racing game at that time one reason for that is that all tuning parts (or the most) were imaginary,and thats why there were so many and you could literally do anything with your car but nowadays car manufacturers would never ever licenese something like that.

Great video, midnight club dub edition was one of my favorite games as well, and if it did get a remastered version it would be epic. The game had a great open world and racing was so fun as it used drafting as a major boost component. Well done on the video. Keep up the good work.

This is awesome. I remember years ago playing Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix for the Playstation 2, cruising around San Diego, Atlanta and Tokyo. The story mode in this game was amazing, as well as Midnight Club 1 and Midnight Club 2. I really hope that Rockstar develops another Midnight Club game soon.
Oh boy, I bought this game in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and I still love it, especially the Remix version, both are outstanding, the music made me feel nostalgic. God bless Midnight Club 3.

What made this game so good was the arcade feel of it, not the realism
Realist handlig is plain boring, also when a game choose realistic or semi-realistic handling they also make ALL UI trânsitions slow and smooth which makes everything slow and more boring
Honestly the race AI still holds up pretty well in the actual career races

Yeah, but with other important Japanese brands like Honda, Mazda and Subaru... personally I miss those in the game, otherwise it'd be perfect, at least in my opinion. (I'm sure other brands could be implemented too, I'm just forgetting them now)

Midnight Club 3 is like my favorite racing game of all time. Such a shame Los Angeles was not good. I would absoloutely LOVE a new Midnight Club game.
I still hope for MC5 to be a PS5 launch title. Heck, I'd pay full price for a remake or a remaster of MC3. But that won't happen because car licenses.
I guess NFS Heat is a nice alternative but it's just not the same feeling. (No Xbox for Forza and my PC is weak)
Why won’t the car companies give the licenses to Rockstar
@@Ibrahim-lf3ek Rockstar would have to buy the licenses for all the cars again which would cost money and Rockstar wouldn't pay that extra money for an old game (plus Toyota doesn't want their cars in illegal street racing games anymore)

@@Ibrahim-lf3ek I was talking about Toyota specifically that doesnt want their cars in illegal street racing. Other brands seem to be cool with it. In GTAV they don't have licenced cars and that worked out for them. I don't think they'd get licenced cars for GTA6. Also, I think Midnight Club Los Angeles got removed from the PS Store a couple of years ago because the licences expired.

Personally I don't trust Rockstar to make another Midnight Club that is any good. _If_ they ever bring the series back, it will probably be dumbed down for the casual audience (easier handling, no manual transmission, etc.) and chocked full of microtransactions.
