Thank you so much for the incredible response to this video! I am so happy I got to share in the excitement surrounding this game, and it's been amazing hearing everyone's stories from growing up with Midnight Club 3 to those who just discovered it. For those asking, YES! I will be doing Midnight Club: LA too. I was going to start recording it this week, but when I opened up the case, the disk was gone...A new one is on the way. I am so excited to revisit it because LA was MY Midnight Club. The game that really hooked me like nothing else. I can't wait to play it again.
@@Under10Hours good luck without Amazon the ps3 version for me seems to not exist anymore. I had the original game for my ps3 for the longest but around the time of moving out of my parents house and me and my girl getting married (5 years) the game just disappeared I have the dlc for it too with eddy the guy whobreak dances on his board.
@@Under10Hours also for Midnight club LA make sure you get the complete edition it literally unlocks the south side of the map that wasn't even there in the original. I doubt you can download it as dlc now.
This brings back a lot of memories, everything about MC3 was so good like the tracks i’d jam out to, garage music, amazing cars and way more. Could play this forever, might even buy a PS2 again just for this
Playing Midnight Club 3 is the first time in 2022? Wow, you're 17 years too late. Why are people always too late at playing games from the early and mid-2000s? Well, if people were born in late 2000's, 2010's and 2020's, they're too late as were born too late.
This was THE racing game back in the late 00's. Took about a year for 10 year old me to beat it but damn if I wasn't proud of it. Great game, they sure don't make them like this anymore.
I’ve logged thousands and thousands of hours on MC3. My cousin and I would stay the night with our grandparents and play on his PS2 until the wee hours of the morning wreaking havoc on San Diego, and on my own time at my house I’d complete the story mode. The Atlanta part of the career mode was the hardest in my opinion too. All in all, I believe MC3 could arguably be the best game Rockstar has ever came out with. It’s from a different time, where video games had a different vibe. I’ll put it in my ps2 every now and then, and play it for a while. Definitely a great game.
@@dennisraeimakers5218 I never liked any of the NFS games other than the 2012 most wanted (yeah, abomination right?)😂 Midnight club 3 was the sole reason I got into cars I'm now a car fanatic as a result of it and top gear I started watching top gear and geeking like I just saw Justin Bieber anytime I saw my favorite cars on the show from the midnight club game All those dodge vipers, corvettes, etc I'm definitely buying another PS2 soon to play it Or I'll just get a gaming PC and emulate it
Having drum and bass blasting in your ears while racing super fast definitely changed something in my teen brain. This zone is something amazing. I still find it with racing games, and DnB is always an amazing companion. I even find myself becoming irrational while driving my real car when some dnb or house comes up on the radio
Zone was my favorite ability. Always came in super handy for hitting sharp turns without losing much speed or last minute directional changes to take a shortcut you hadn't seen earlier.
Yes! I remember during V’s development Rockstar said it was supposed to be the best parts of all their games leading up to it. Zone is definitely where Franklin’s ability came from. It’s also probably why the driving feels so different than games previous. I don’t know if they used MC has a basis for the driving but compared to IV it’s much more responsive imo
im from atlanta and all the real life locations like the big chicken and the vortex absolutely made this game my favorite. All of the customization too this game was AMAZING, my whole childhood
I would play this with my siblings and cousins all the time, honestly the game hasn’t aged, but Rockstar messed up not continuing this masterpiece. Music and the whole games atmosphere was just crispy and clean.
personally I was always someone that preferred 2. (as you can tell by the DICE pfp.) i grew up on 2 and 3 later playing MCLA. for me its the way the music pushes you to keep going, the way the streets all feel familiar if you played them before but still a cruel mistress if you go with just a little bit too much power. all the little rivals and opponets either flirting with you (Gina and Jewel/Julies for example) or calling you an absolute shitter like DICE it all gave the game a lot of charm and it genuinely made it feel like so much love was put into it. the soundtrack stuck with me so much its def shaped a huge part of my music taste along with 3s. the pulsating techno, the smooth house, the sprinkles of rap in MC2 genuinely made it so unique and made it feel like you were on some random DJs playlist just shuffling through while going 200+mph in a kitted out Supra in purple on a Tokyo highway. the sense of speed in MC2 is unrivaled as well, i can be going 120mph and it feels like im doing 200+ on the dash in a Civic. going back to the characters thing, the whole buildup to the rivals, beating them, then taking their car was so sweet too. especially at the end when you finally defeat Savo after all those damn races (fuck that paris unordered one) and get that clean Saleen S7 to go back and replay the whole campaign on the hardest difficulty using that cheatcode. its def not for everyone and i understand the appeal of MC3 over 2 but for me 2 is the best in the series. its the perfect blend of everything of that era and i still find myself going back to it and playing it for fun. 100% one of the greatest games ever made and i could honestly go on for hours and hours. amazing video btw, made me smile on some points!
Thanks for the really thoughtful comment! I really enjoyed MC2 as well. I loved the cities a ton, especially the winding streets of Paris. Driving underground and losing control going through subway tunnels was a blast.
2 is the best of the series. Great atmosphere and sense of speed. I remember being excited for it to come out and playing a demo in a game shop. I prefer the unlicensed cars and the characters. Great game
For me really it was MC2's characters that made the game better than MC3. They have their own personalities, whereas in MC3 you just race a bunch of random dudes that never talk to you. It feels kind of stale. (Note: I'm not shitting on MC3, I do think it's an awesome game as well)
I really like both, but man that soundtrack on MCII is just something else. I have listened to it countless times throughout the years, but unfortunately many of the songs are just so obscure that the only way to actually listen to them in a convenient way is to literally connect my Playstation 2 to my amp and just listen to the soundtrack straight off the game disc. Hell I might just go do that now
ua-cam.com/video/2LZIBjQhw98/v-deo.html this is my go to when i wanna listen to the mc2 ost, it also has the cut content tracks too, Golden Boy & Miss Kittin - Rippin Kittin being my personal favourite :)
Midnight Club 2 is a sleeper game. It's actually a better game than 3 imo, but doesn't have real cars or customization. However I think the maps were cool, cheat codes were awesome, Paris, and you could actually hid pedestrians. For a kid that was absolutely not allowed to ever play GTA, this game came in so clutch.
I had no idea there was some sort of CD music disc collection for the soundtrack on that. By now I'd have to imagine the OST has to be uploaded somewhere on UA-cam.
Nowadays just a fraction of the customization MC3 had would be separated between multiple DLCs and monetization schemes, that if the game wasn't online-only and buggy and incomplete.
I am glad that everybody on the planet universally recognizes this game as good. It's hard to find any criticism of it online, excluding people mad about ricers in 2004 when it was announced. Something I'd like to mention about the soundtrack is that it wasn't just localized for southern rap. They included punk and dancehall for SoCal for San Diego and techno specifically from Detroit to fit in with these locations. In early stages, the game was meant to have songs locked to each area so it makes sense that they picked them out this way. Also, personally, I dislike the characters from MC2 so I'm pleased that they're gone. I can't play MC2 without disabling voices and rapidly mashing buttons to skip every cutscene.
I agree. I wish we could get a new game or something. It’s been a long time since I played a racing game this fun, and I’d love if arcade racers as a genre came back.
I'd buy a Dub Edition Remix remake with all the maps expanded, updated graphics, more cars, newer cars, maybe expand on the interior customization of MCLA, but keep the variety of exterior customization that we all loved from MC3. A Midnight Club game optimized for new consoles could be incredible
@@Under10Hours need for speed are falling off the pace heavily And forza is barely street racing, it's literally the most boring racing series I've ever come across No soul or character, everything also gets handed to you on a silver platter within 30 minutes of playing the game The camera angle is horrible also
I'm hoping the rumblings of a new game are more than just a mobile game. I've seen more and more about the series recently which is why I played this in the first place. Hopefully more people keep talking about it and expressing interest!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it enough to sub. The way my videos usually perform, I was expecting at most like 1000 views. My girlfriend (8-Bit Jesus from the video) was so proud of how well it was doing and she showed her family. The ONE video I made an ass-eating joke is the one she showed her family!
Midnight Club II is one of the most difficult arcade racers of all time. The way the streets become increasingly narrow as you progress through the cities (along with increased traffic density) make it challenging in a way that MC3 is not. MC2 was also, I believe, the second online-capable console racing game ever (Auto Modellista being the first) and had a die-hard community where some friendships formed still exist today. The customization and licensed cars of MC3 are awesome, but the gameplay of MC2 will always make it the best of the series for me.
I loved MC2 (PC), played it every day after work, till I finished it. Just like Vanishing Point, on PS1, butter tires, but what an adrenalin rush! Took weeks to finish and not crash into the shadow zone.
Honestly if you combined Midnight Club 3's huge selection of cars, customization, events, etc, with Midnight Club 2's rivals and unique cities, you'll have a racing game that's as close to perfection as anything in the universe can get.
The amount of customization put into this game is insane I loved this game so much even though it's very unforgiving I remember playing through the career mode trying to find all rockstar logos in my nissan 350z while listening to queen of the stone age
9:07 It’s also worth noting that weight transfer is back, but there definitely feels like there’s less of an emphasis on it unless you’re riding a motorcycle again. 13:47 Spot on with the differences on cars and rivals. None of the MC3 rivals are memorable since the only “personality” is told to you by your mechanic, and seeing a Lexus GS400-like vehicle in MC2 be so strong made me very happy. Personally, I prefer MC3 overall, but they both have their own spaces in my heart. I think MC:LA’s worth a review when you have time too, since it takes the customization in 3 even further and somewhat returns trash talking rivals from 2.
I didn't get a chance to play the second game or LA afterwards. The third game was just THE MIDNIGHT CLUB game for me as a result haha. Drivers did not have character personality but the visual personality it had imp was top notch, the distinct design of their cars and them being chill waiting in the open world as you drove passed them. I still after all these years remember crystal clear how in San Diego Carlos with that emerald green low roof 1978 monte carlo was cruising near the amusement park or Vanessa with that pink Mitsubishi was just chilling near the stadium or Phil with that glasses, on a Harley Davidson was near a gas station or Bishop etc I could just go on
I was immediately hooked on the series from the very first game - it felt so different at the time and exactly what I was looking for without knowing it. Two was a nice update, but three sucked up more of my time than those before it. I think the real addiction came with the fourth: LA. When my love for Gran Turismo 5 had finally subsided from the year before, this came at just the right time. It did have stiff competition from Burnout, Fallout, and GTA though.
Midnight Club 3 was the GOAT. In my opinion, easily the best and most fun arcade racing game of all time, it beats all the NFS games too. Mostly due to how insane the customisation options were, along with the freedom to drive anywhere you want, even during races which no game since has really matched imo. I even went back to play Midnight Club 2 and LA but they don't scratch that same itch that 3 does. I'm not sure why but 3 felt like magic, and it was possibly the shear immersion that the customisation, map layout and soundtrack that just really made it so good.
As someone who loves mc2 more than 3 (as you can see on my profile and last name) mc2 has a dark atmosphere feel to it whenever you progress even further, the demonic techno music is awesome, the characters are cool, the cars are cool, and what made me go deeper into game is the two Japanese logos has a name of the longest road that was raced on by the real life street racing groups called the midnight club
Midnight club 3 is one of the first racing games I've ever played on my Xbox. Returning home as a kid after my mom bought me the game got me all excited to see what game had to offer. It is one of the most memorable experiences ever booting up the game and getting all into arcadey smashy racing with tons of licensed cars and customization. It's also a thing that every city in MC just had special feeling that no game could ever replicate. True masterpiece and for me, greatest street racing game of all time on PS2.
LOL BRO WHAT. the second I got the mclaren F1 and you could use zone, you can take 90deg corners at 200mph. you would literally drive the whole track at 200mph.
Games like Midnight Club 3 and Def Jam: Fight For NY solidified my love for Hip Hop music, especially since my parents really didn't let me listen to it in the house and certainly weren't going to buy any rap albums. Games were almost a cheat code for me to get my fix of relevant music outside of sneaking to watch 106 & Park when they weren't in the room or eventually putting on headphones and finding playlists on UA-cam.
The moment I saw you sliding towards the gas station I was convinced it was going to pan to another clip but no. All raw and true to the game you showed that quick reset off. This has for sure made my day. Btw if you free roam with a bike on multiplayer you can glitch into the cracks of most the garages into the building. The easiest one is Tokyo on the DUB edition version!
Angel Studios before they became Rockstar San Diego made some of my favorite games. I used to spend hours playing Midtown Madness on pc and Midnight Club 3 was just chef’s kiss. It wasn’t exactly a Need For Speed Underground/MostWanted but Midnight Club was in a league of its own unlike many other racing games of the era. I only wish it had a PC release but emulation works great too.
I have been trying so hard to find a way to get Midtown Madness 2 working on my computer to do a review on! I grew up on that game and played it for years.
Racing in this game and hearing the awesome rap soundtrack in it gives it a whole special meaning , no other game really has that feeling for me in my opinion than mc3. Classic masterpiece of a game
I’m probably going to revisit LA soon because I spent a good year playing that in 2008. It was the first game I sunk a ton of time into customization and the online component where you could download skins was amazing.
Man, I remember playing this on my original xbox back in summer 2015, and man, let me tell you, this game had me addicted, I managed to beat the entire game in just one day
@@Under10Hours Oh yeah, MC3 is for sure a classic, I miss playing the hell out of it, haha. But i'm so glad this game is getting the recognition it deserves.
@@itsbobbymane bruh you're a legend lol This is one of 3 or 4 games where I legit went to the store to buy a copy every year after finishing the game I think I played it first when I was 8 or so Played ALL the other racing games like NFS, ridge racer, Gran Turismo, etc I never liked any of them even though I played all multiple times Finished midnight club 3 and sometimes I literally wouldn't be able to sleep because I'm making car noises and pretending to race in the game with the full races mapped out in my head lol Damn
I grew up playing this game and up until now I consider it the best racing game overall. I've played all the NFS of that era, Street Racing Syndicate, Street Legal among others but this game for me was the absolute top to the point that I've actually purchased it three times, two on PS2 because being a kid I eventually scratched the first disk and then a third time on PSN Classics. What I loved about the game was that it had a nice, simple story (although back then I didn't understand english, I enjoyed the cuscenes), great gameplay in terms of handling, amazing city layouts, limitless options in terms of customization and some of the absolute best OST. I remember starting the game for the first time back in around 2006, driving my red Eclipse around San Diego, not knowing what I have to do and seeing that red, green, yellow smoke coming out of the ground and before I knew it, I was in a race getting destroyed. I also remember the back cover of the game showing the Nissan Skyline tokyo police car, the yellow Mercedes CLS, that shot of the Cadillac El Dorado in the dusk and in the booklet the Pagani Zonda which I remember being mesmerized by how beautiful that car was. The game had an amazing atmospere, the cities where completely different from each other and although San Diego was my favorite since I got to know the city inside and out, Detroit was the one that stood out the most to me with it's more run down feel and snow. Also around that time, I remember seeing Rockstar promote the next Midnight Club, Los Angeles. I actually remember young me going to a local video game store just to ask if the new Midnight would release for PS2 instead of just the next gen systems and was dissapointed to learn that the guy thought it wouldn't. I could talk about this game forever but I'll leave it here. I sincerely hope that Rockstar will come back to this franchise in the future with a banger of a game although I do have my doubts. I love Forza Horizon and Need For Speed but I'll always consider Midnight Club to be on a whole different level. THANK YOU for this video and for awakening all these memories. Subbed my friend!
Thanks for the thoughtful comment and for subbing! Yeah I am so happy I finally played this on a home console. When I was growing up I played on PSP which was great for a handheld, but in its full glory it’s just amazing here. There’s so much it did right that I could talk about it forever too!
Bruh I saw the Zonda for the first time ever in midnight club and literally thought it was an alien far or concept car The huge backside with the quad exhaust just blew my mind when that guy was yelling at his japanese employee in Tokyo
@@Under10Hours me too It's still the only game I've ever played that's made me feel that way I would pay $50,000 to fund anyone who can make a PS5 version if that'll be enough lol It's an insane game
Major PS2 fan from the get-go, pretty much had every midnight club on release day or release week. Up until the more recent‘s. And well I do have love for all of them, no question Number three DUB edition will always be my favourite “racing game” of all time.
This game is such a blast to play with friends on a LAN! Skill can only give you a slight advantage in such a chaotic game haha. Unlike NFS games, MC3 doesn't remove traffic in multiplayer games, it's all just like playing solo (except no one can use Zone, for obvious reasons lol). Also, watching his driving at 1.5x almost gave me an axiety attack
@@JetSetSixDeuce , Do you play against other MC3 players online with that set-up? If so, do you have any desync issues with other players such as those on original Hardware and if that's the case do you have to change settings in your emulation in order to stay synced?
@@That_Handle I haven't played online, though I'm certain you could since ive done it before, just not in MC3. Usually server groups like that you find just for said game, are relatively stable. Not all the time, but they're better than a lot of online game servers.
Amazing appearance and commentary by the girl talking about music - she really tried here, a well put together video overall. Greetings and a new sub from Latvia.
Haha thank you! She’s actually my girlfriend! And I don’t think she would have said yes to being in the video if either of us would have known how many people would see it 😅
one of my favorite childhood games, glad you enjoyed it so much. back then these graphics blew my mind and customization was so fun, also the soundtrack is 10/10
They each have their own perks. I would play MC 3 and MC 4 if I want to feel like Paul Walker in FF working hard for new parts and upgrades. MC 3 gave you a lot to work for. While on the other hand I would play MC 2 for the arcade racing nostalgia feel. Its focused a lot more on maneuvering and finding short cuts vs being the fastest based on upgrades and vehicles. You have hours of arcade-ish style fun vs hours of car enthusiasm style fun. Don't know if anyone remembers but in MC 2 you can enter a cheat code that puts machine guns and rockets on your car. That along with capture the flag mode created damn near a whole other game bro, spent hours and hours blowing/shooting everyone up. Most fun I ever had in a racing game man MC 2 and 3 are ahead of their time.
Did you know if you put a cheat code on the remix edition opponents becomes more aggressive and even if you win the guy at the end of the race will trash talk you other than complimenting your driving skills ? This happens when you put the money cheat
I feel like if you're more urban culture then midnight club 3 is more of your game. Like let's be honest there's rarely any games where you can race a Cadillac escalade going 200
I loved midnight club three dub edition remix. This was my first ever racing game. And yes I use zone a lot lol I was eight years old this was my first introduction to cars. Driving through the city listening to Freek-A-Leek This game will always have a sweet spot in my heart.
Once again, people like you are a straight testament of just how excellent this game was and is to this day!!! Game is almost 20 years old and is STILL the racing/customization standard game right now!!!!!. Thank you!!! You're nowhere near alone!!! I have this game right now with 2 memory cards, and 6 garages so far with 30 cars in each. This game along with NFS underground 2, Tokyo extreme racer were the apex of the street racing games!!! ( I have all aforementioned games). They don't make em like this no more and is the exact reason I still have my ps2!!! And along with my ps3 . I won't get another game console because of this very reason: Three are no more good street racing games!!!! 1 reason ? NO REPLAY MODE!!!!!!!!. Why put candy paint , custom rims , body kits graphics on my car ,so I can see it from the back the rest of the game??‽ or just a cut sene ?????😤😡
I think people care too much about licensed vehicles. Contrary to popular belief you do NOT need to sign a contract to feature realistic looking vehicles in your games, you only need it for the brands, in which case you're literally just paying to advertise someone else's product in your game while heavily restricting the kind of gameplay, customization and damage you can portray said vehicles with. There's no better example for this than Midnight Club, as soon the series started featuring licensed vehicles both the gameplay and the damage took a nose dive. The customization and the vehicle variety were much better (in the sense that there actually were some), however as great as they were I can guarantee you they would've been even better if they hadn't been limited by the licensing contracts.
I'm so glad I grew up with this game, I love it and always play it again at least once or twice every year. Nice to see some more appreciation for it too nice video
Fantastic video I'm glad that people still find this gem of a game. I will say there is no P1 McLaren in this game it was the F1 but for a first time player that's that's not a major crime because most people haven't even heard of the original McLaren cars. this game is my favorite I would have to say as far as game play is concerned, It's the most complete package because it has the most content. the 4th game has the best customization of course because it's the most recent but they cut a lot out to expand the map and for the next Gen engine. 2 was my favorite and I grew up on that the most although I played all of them when they came out. I remember playing the demo for the 1st game at a kiosk and an electronics boutique at the mall and I fell in love with it the idea of it although the game play was not there. I have more fond memories of it than I do uh anything else but I spent most of my time on 2 where the real atmosphere was... it really felt like a futuristic ambience filled spaceship ride.
It's hard to choose since i love both games and they brought have a special place in my heart but if i really had to choose... I would have to pick Midnight Club 3 for the customization, vehicles, amazing soundtrack. MC2 has decent rivals but some can be annoying, Has amazing soundtrack in it's own right and track layouts are great and plus we can't forget about running over NPCs and the gun cheat "savethekids" and the rocket car!
If there is one thing I messed up in my video about MC2 it's that I didn't cover the cheat codes. Those things were wild. Turned it into a totally different game!
Me and my brother came out with a project called Nocturnal Principles 💿 dedicated to Midnight Club 3 ;the game definitely is one ☝️ of a kind hopefully they’ll release another one day!
Not sure what others are like now but as I've grown to be an adult I don't find my self using special abilities or adding upgrades to cars that don't commonly have that upgrade in real life
It’s hard to diagnose an issue without seeing it in person, but have you tried a new battery? There was an article I read where, for some reason, everyone’s PSP batteries went bad at almost the same time. Maybe it happened for you too
I still remember in MC3 having opponents closing in on me, hitting the Look Back button, and sending a roar backwards to disrupt them. I don't think the game explains that it's a thing, but it's the fondest memory I had, making sure clencher finishes were guaranteed finishes.
Just found your channel cause of this video. Definitely subscribing! Shocking the sub count is that low for how quality the content is. Also this sound track formed my taste in music along with pro skater 3/4 and guitar hero 3
Great review! I spent hundreds of hours playing this game with my little brother. Wish it was on PC. I'm sure modders would've kept this thing alive to this day.
Thank you for this video. This is a childhood game and I've been looking for reviews of it on UA-cam just to see what other people opinions about it. Keep it up.
Yeah as someone without any nostalgia for it, I was surprised how incredibly well it held up. It’s phenomenally good, and I wish this series never went away.
you are the first person i hear say they prefer any other ability than zone, makes me glad to hear that cuz i definitely enjoyed all 3 and not just zone
First time viewer here. I never played MC2, but I had a PS2 and got MC3DER and I can tell you for sure that the Tokyo challenge makes things worth it. Zone can be used on sport bikes as well for added maneuverability, and roar can be used on choppers. Tokyo challenge is where you get the first exotic to beat out the city tournament in Detroit in that game as well. If you play remix, you will have to progress through the whole game again. I suggest progressing through Tokyo challenge gradually as you complete San Diego and Atlanta as it will make adjusting to the vehicles easier.
Great video. I loved Midnight Club 3 dub edition remix on the PS2. I remember falling in love the with Skyline when I unlocked it and thought it was the coolest car i'd ever seen.
Decided to give MC3 a chance after watching this video and my god what an amazing game. Thank you for this excellent video. Excited to see what you do in future!
Yes, there was an emphasis on hip hop in the midnight club 3 soundtrack, but that wasn't the only genre you could choose from. Also had reggae / dancehall, you had Drum n bass, you had techno, You had rock and roll. I've had my fair share of songs from each available genre that kept me pumped while I put my pedal to the metal.
I swear from the moment I got midnight club 3 dub edition on my psp back I 2nd grade I literally didn’t stop playing it until my psp broke 5 years later😭😭😭this game truly is lighting in a bottle
Brooo, i remember being a little ass kid coming home for Christmas one day to see this game under the tree and from that point on, it became my favorite childhood racing game. me and my sister used to compete to see who could get to exotic cars faster (course it was her she was older) and seeing all the cars we collected and customized was such a big influence on my attraction to vehicles back then. the soundtrack was an absolute bop, and i could easily play the game for hours up until the disc broke 😭😭 i remember when i saw it in the discount game bin at GameStop i saw it and immediately asked my parents to get it for us again.
I love Midnight Club 2 because that was the first MC game I played as a kid, but recently I played it again on Xbox Series S and I love it even more, I loved that adrenaline rush driving at full speed in Tokyo and with techno in the background, something that MC3 did not achieve in me, so I am on the side of Mc2
I love this series. I love every one I have played...tbh midnight club two, midnight club three: DUB edition and midnight club LA are three of the best racing games ever made. They always had great vehicles, great music, great digital cities that felt perfect for racing. I used to love the combination of the soundtracks with the cars lining up at the beginning of a race, or the NPCs talking trash to you on your sidekick. They were really ahead of their time. From what I understand, the same team went on to create the red dead series and that is why we can't get another midnight club, but it's been awhile since I have looked into that so take that with a grain of salt.
Unfortunately the only midnight club that’s backward compatible is LA. Better than nothing, but it would be great for everyone to be able to play their favorite MC on the newest console.
I played and completed every Midnight Club except for Dub Edition remix which I plan on revisiting soon, both Dub Edition and MCLA are still some of my favorite arcade racers ever, beat those two multiple times each. Also have to note that both of those games have legendary soundtracks. Edit: Commented before watching, wanted to add that Zone rewards clean driving and when used right you can take some pretty tight turns at like 200mph it's pretty crazy when you get the hang of it.
My favorite racing game of all time!!!! No lie or cap or whatever!!!! I still play this on my ps3 almost all the time. Dub edition remix was so fun. They need to make another just like the Arcadey style it had to it
Great memories. -There are 2 versions of the game, (Regular DUB Edition, and the DUB REMIX version) -I still have and play the game on my Modded PS2 and Modded PSP/PS Vita, still have the disc as well. I also have the Remix version on my Modded PS3.
The Vortex in your thumbnail is an actual restaurant here in Atlanta. It was right across the street from the record store I used to go to all the time in Little Five Points. How weird seeing it in a random UA-cam thumbnail!
I’ve visited Atlanta a few times and I LOVE Little Five Points. I’ve spent a ton of time at Criminal Records, and last time I was there I ate a very large burger at The Vortex. One day I’ll eat a bypass burger haha
@@Under10Hours Cool! I always went to Satellite Records. I really miss going in there and spending hours listening to tunes. I've never been to The Vortex myself. Maybe I need to try it out. I guess I never felt I was cool enough to set foot in there 🤣

This really was a game that got everything right!
@@Under10Hours It really did! Appreciate the like and reply, never happened before
Playing Midnight Club 3 is the first time in 2022? Wow, you're 17 years too late.
Why are people always too late at playing games from the early and mid-2000s? Well, if people were born in late 2000's, 2010's and 2020's, they're too late as were born too late.
@@automation7295 stupid ass comment no offence
I bought it on Xbox with backwards compatibility
I have so many memories playing Midnight Club 3 on the PSP as a kid, and it was one of the reasons why I liked cars a lot.
Same! Games like this is how I really got into cars too.
Same here man, although i started with nfs hot pursuit
@@dennisraeimakers5218 I never liked any of the NFS games other than the 2012 most wanted (yeah, abomination right?)😂
Midnight club 3 was the sole reason I got into cars
I'm now a car fanatic as a result of it and top gear
I started watching top gear and geeking like I just saw Justin Bieber anytime I saw my favorite cars on the show from the midnight club game
All those dodge vipers, corvettes, etc
I'm definitely buying another PS2 soon to play it
Or I'll just get a gaming PC and emulate it
One of the best PSP ports ever made! It really felt like you were playing the full game, unlike those NFS remakes haha.
@@william_SMMA so me!! NFS was always like a huh to me, mc was always my thing and one of my first and best memories of racing games cause of my dad
8:25 this is where they got the inspiration for Franklin's special ability in GTAV
(Note: I'm not shitting on MC3, I do think it's an awesome game as well)
Yes dude! Like I said under another comment, MC2 handles better than 3 and has a better atmosphere. Absolute sleeper game.
It's a shame that modern racing games can't have any meaningful characters in them.
Hell I might just go do that now
ua-cam.com/video/2LZIBjQhw98/v-deo.html
this is my go to when i wanna listen to the mc2 ost, it also has the cut content tracks too, Golden Boy & Miss Kittin - Rippin Kittin being my personal favourite :)
I have or used to have the full soundtrack somewhere. Hopefully still have it
@@squills1 The four disc set? I always assumed it was just a myth with how little info about it exists on the internet.
No matter what year it is. Old games still will be superior!
Feeling that more and more every day!
Especially Gina.
MC3 is such an awesome game, soundtrack and all. I really wish this series was still going, at least a remake would be great
I agree. I wish we could get a new game or something. It’s been a long time since I played a racing game this fun, and I’d love if arcade racers as a genre came back.
@@Under10Hours 💯💯
💯💯💯
I'd buy a Dub Edition Remix remake with all the maps expanded, updated graphics, more cars, newer cars, maybe expand on the interior customization of MCLA, but keep the variety of exterior customization that we all loved from MC3. A Midnight Club game optimized for new consoles could be incredible
@@Under10Hours need for speed are falling off the pace heavily

The camera angle is horrible also
Favorite racing game series ever. Been begging for a remaster🙏

Took weeks to finish and not crash into the shadow zone.
also the characters in MC2 make the game feel much more alive than MC3
Honestly if you combined Midnight Club 3's huge selection of cars, customization, events, etc, with Midnight Club 2's rivals and unique cities, you'll have a racing game that's as close to perfection as anything in the universe can get.
The sense of speed and adrenaline in MC2 is best than MC3
@@goldesenor9475 no
The amount of customization put into this game is insane I loved this game so much even though it's very unforgiving I remember playing through the career mode trying to find all rockstar logos in my nissan 350z while listening to queen of the stone age
Dub edition was so dope man. To this day that game is the reason I have a Ducati 999 in my garage.
That’s so cool!!!
What's the best game in the series for you?
I can't tell you how related this is as well I've achieved 100% in just 2 days hooked like crap 15h and I loved and enjoyed every race
I have this game over most wanted by a mile, this game is criminaly underrated
I grew up on this game for 6 years on my dad's old PS2, and I plan on playing it again once I have a controller for my PS2 emulator 😁
That restart at @10:15 had me dying 🤣
Gotta keep it authentic!

Franklin in GTA V uses "zone"
One of my favorite games as a kid, I played it a while back and it's still as charming as ever, nice video!
I loved DUB edition, something that’s missed too is the online mode, I distinctly remember playing the online mode a lot on the PS2
Racing in this game and hearing the awesome rap soundtrack in it gives it a whole special meaning , no other game really has that feeling for me in my opinion than mc3. Classic masterpiece of a game
Mc3 was the first midnight club I played, LA was the last. I never played the first 2. The music in the game was embedded into my childhood

I think I played it first when I was 8 or so
Played ALL the other racing games like NFS, ridge racer, Gran Turismo, etc
I never liked any of them even though I played all multiple times
Finished midnight club 3 and sometimes I literally wouldn't be able to sleep because I'm making car noises and pretending to race in the game with the full races mapped out in my head lol
Damn
Bruh I saw the Zonda for the first time ever in midnight club and literally thought it was an alien far or concept car

The Cadillac Sixteen, ME 412 and MB CLK GTR will always have a special place in my heart

one of my favorite childhood games, glad you enjoyed it so much. back then these graphics blew my mind and customization was so fun, also the soundtrack is 10/10
This and Motor City Online are my 2 favorite racing games of all time.
The only other game I can think of is LA Rush, and what are you going to do? Play that? Yeah right.

This game will always have a sweet spot in my heart.
Rockstar really needs to combine teams and make a game that blends midnight club and GTA. It would be like their answer to the 'driver' series.
I played all GTA's MC's and Need for Speeds. Driver ( besides mc2 ) was my favorite lol
GTA 3 was their answer to the success of Driver 1. Reflections never held up a good Driver title since then and left making Driver
Welcome my man! You will love it
Fantastic video I'm glad that people still find this gem of a game.
Yeah I thought i was hearing things haha. How in that time they had a P1 when on screen he was driving the F1.
this game was my childhood. I saw this thumbnail and went "Oh hell yeah" and instantly clicked. Loved this.
Nostalgic !
I won a lot of races with the 300C
It was my favourite with a the CLS 55
It's hard to choose since i love both games and they brought have a special place in my heart but if i really had to choose...
I would have to pick Midnight Club 3 for the customization, vehicles, amazing soundtrack.
MC2 has decent rivals but some can be annoying, Has amazing soundtrack in it's own right and track layouts are great and plus we can't forget about running over NPCs and the gun cheat "savethekids" and the rocket car!
If there is one thing I messed up in my video about MC2 it's that I didn't cover the cheat codes. Those things were wild. Turned it into a totally different game!

This brought tears to my eyes 😢 so many memories

“House real big, cars real big, belly real big, everything real big”. This song alone added greatness to this game.
This was one of my most favorite games as a kid for all the reasons you covered.
Welcome to the Midnight Club, my friend.
Subscribed.
Also, @ 6:53, I see what you did.
Agro for luxury sedans seems to track for the way most of their owners drive them in real life, just being honest
I just finished MNC3 on my jailbroken PS3 i couldnt play it as a kid because of the rated “T” im so glad i got to finish it i absolutely loved it
I love Midnight Club 2 because that was the first MC game I played as a kid, but recently I played it again on Xbox Series S and I love it even more, I loved that adrenaline rush driving at full speed in Tokyo and with techno in the background, something that MC3 did not achieve in me, so I am on the side of Mc2
just discovered this game and I want to play it ! nice video
Thanks! I hope you get a chance to play it soon!
I started to play in last months of 2021, and i still playing.
I wish this game was bacompatible on Xbone and XS.
Unfortunately the only midnight club that’s backward compatible is LA. Better than nothing, but it would be great for everyone to be able to play their favorite MC on the newest console.
6:35 I was shocked to see you pick the Louisiana license plate lol
I played and completed every Midnight Club except for Dub Edition remix which I plan on revisiting soon, both Dub Edition and MCLA are still some of my favorite arcade racers ever, beat those two multiple times each. Also have to note that both of those games have legendary soundtracks.
Edit: Commented before watching, wanted to add that Zone rewards clean driving and when used right you can take some pretty tight turns at like 200mph it's pretty crazy when you get the hang of it.
I really want a game that had this prizing money back! It just really fun and feeling good when u actually did winning tournaments or rival race
Absolutely my favorite racing game of all time just got it for psp again and bringing back so many memories.
Haven't watch the video yet, but this is going to be a fun video. These games were so ahead of their time.
The hardest menu song of all games. Man I need to hook my ps2 up.
My favorite racing game of all time!!!! No lie or cap or whatever!!!! I still play this on my ps3 almost all the time. Dub edition remix was so fun. They need to make another just like the Arcadey style it had to it
Great memories.
-There are 2 versions of the game, (Regular DUB Edition, and the DUB REMIX version)
-I still have and play the game on my Modded PS2 and Modded PSP/PS Vita, still have the disc as well.
