I’m sure this feels like a thankless task - the amount of research and effort that probably has gone into putting together a video like this. However, I’d like to personally thank you and encourage you to put as much lore and history on video as possible. There’s a small part of the community that really appreciates this stuff and it’s something EQ has been missing for a long time.
This is amazing. I never knew this lore even existed. I always wondered about that picture of firiona vie and a bunch other characters fighting.... A bunch of other characters, and who they all were supposed to be.
Late to the party but I can not tell you how much I appreciate these videos, and how much effort has undoubtedly went into them. Just outstanding work.
I met Lanys once in a "gm event" it was a fun interaction too. She was big time cold and ruthless. Sorry to hear a lot of the old GM events are lost. A bugged a friend who was on the Quest Troupe back in the day, but she didn't keep any of the old quest troupe scripts, but you never know.
Thanks for reaching out to them! Yeah It's a shame, there are some old Angelfire pages that I've come across with some old stuff but a lot of it has just been lost to time or defunct webhosting services unfortunately.
I just discovered these videos from a Reddit thread. Thank you SO much for making them. Nostalgia aside, I am still a die-hard Everquest fan and the Lore has always fascinated me. I greatly appreciate all the work you've put in here with the animations, AI pathing, etc. Thank you so much :)
I wish it didn’t end here. Im an eqemu dev and want to build an alternative lore but this is by far the best source I have seen in a couple weeks of searching. I would like to thank you sincerely for making this. If you still check your account I would love to get in touch with you and learn more about the lore if you are interested.
Dude. Thank you! Fantastic job! Gonna listen to the rest again at work today. EQ has such a cool story and so much of it is lost to time. While a lot has changed in terms of the game, this brings me right back. Thanks again!
Please, please do a video on the full prophecy of Trakanon. Even if it wasn't canon, it was incredibly immersive and one of the most mysterious and enthralling tales to be told in the world of Everquest.
I was there for the Kithicor event. I want to say it was Halloween night 2000. My Erudite Paladin got killed in Rivervale by Dark Elfs and the GMs banned me for hacking a few hours later because they assumed I was a caster using a sword. I got to see bits of HH and Kithicor before I was booted. It felt more like the GMs were having a Halloween event than creating lore, because the zone was kinda boring prior.
I take that back, it was Halloween of 1999 or close to Halloween day. But certainly 99 as the event was pre Kunark. I tried to defend the new Halflings coming into the game and the Dark Elf NPCs owned me. The same NPCs were also in HH, but fewer in number. Good times.
It was more of a Halloween event to roll out the Plane of Hate zone. All of this great lore and they didn't do such a fine job of bringing the story to the players. I was at the event also; I remember someone in our guild found out about it and suddenly guildchat went crazy and everyone was trying to get out of their camps in Lower Guk etc...to make haste to be part of the event. Folks ended up sitting in Kith Forest or Nek forest for hours waiting for the event to finally start. I had a troll with Freeport/Qeynos faction and had fun RPing next to Firiona Vie as her personal bodyguard during the fight/script. I still have a robe at "identifies" as "From Bloody Kithicor" in my inventory if I ever logged back on.
Just stumbled into these lore videos, great job Bobby B! The amount of work that must have gone into crafting a clear narrative out of EQs drips and drops off lore is much appreciated. Also really liked the machinima style reenactments! Bravo
these were some seriously awesome videos! thank you so much for all your hard work! they were great from start to finish, and so wonderful to see them fully acted! these must have been an enormous project!
Great video! I sadly missed getting to participate in Bloody Kithicor when it originally happened as I hadn't started playing yet. Reading stories about that event definitely helped to get me interested in the game though!
4 years ago, but I really like your approach and method of handling the history. How come you stopped? There are more things to cover! But, guess I will have to go watch others...
Wow this was great! This felt like a "Book of Choyer" level production considering the age of the game you're working with. Good job! I didn't know all the characters on that old box art even had names.
Great video. My only problem is the narrator's pronunciation of Firiona Vie. He completely disregards the 2nd "i" in her name. It should be pronounced Feer-ee-own-ah. And her paladin designation "Vie" is actually pronounced Vee instead of Veye.
i want to be a dual wielding SK! thanks so much for telling these stories. I only played eq2 and wanted to know more about lore. originally just lord Nagafen, but here I am!
Can we talk about how rough it is of Tunare to be like, "Yo, go tell your husband that you betrayed him and bore a daughter;" and then in comes the guy who slept with the queen and he's like "No it's YOUR daughter" lol
Too bad you stopped there. There's almost no one who goes past Velious in lore. I'd even like to see a write up of the Plane of Power storyline. As for beyond that, there might not be much story worth looking into, but it would be nice to see what in the holy hell is going on in expansions past those. Legacy of Ykesha just seemed like a trash pit, and the same with LDoN. As for the current expansions... is it an alternate universe or just a reboot? It's hard to look at a glowing Owlbear as the mascot for Nights of Shadow and say "Hey, I to know about that... thing. Yeah, that thing that's both a bear and an owl." It's like, the most pointless and stupid looking animal mob from shadows of luclin brought to the forefront of an Everquest expansion for seemingly no reason. And the raids don't do much for lore except weird ass conversations with the actual Luclin goddess and Loda Kai, who I still don't know to this day. Last I checked, Khati Sha was at the forefront of hidden and interesting lore for the past expansion. And Darklight Caverns has you running hippie partisan quests for the main glowing cat guy. I never cared to look at his name, but I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in past lore so obviously here he is, wanting you to emote to animals. For moon justice. Here's hoping "Laurion's Song" is either a place holder name or something relevant.

And children this is WHY we don't play in the Kithicor forest at night.
I still have nightmares from 2000 of trying to get to high pass at the wrong time of day.
BobbyBick & Michael Shenanigans holding it down as the best EQ content creators. Awesome Work!
This is amazing. I never knew this lore even existed. I always wondered about that picture of firiona vie and a bunch other characters fighting.... A bunch of other characters, and who they all were supposed to be.
There is SO MUCH lore! Even the stuff that isn't cannon is awesome.
Late to the party but I can not tell you how much I appreciate these videos, and how much effort has undoubtedly went into them. Just outstanding work.
im even more late but yea, i was gunna say the same thing

Playing EverQuest almost 20 years ago. This was fun to listen to and peak at while working. The OG player models was very nostalgic 😊
What that “army of adventurers” was actually doing during that establishing shot: “320 bone chips. 80 plat”
Brooooo These lore videos are sooo good... Please make more. Loving them. Thank you so much for making them!

I can't remember how long it's been since I've seen this tutorial zone.
As a person who has never played EQ1 and only played parts of EQ2, I freaking love these videos. Thanks for taking the time to upload them.
Awesome! Thanks for all your nights of labor creating this!
Always love to see new EQ lore vids! Good shit!
This is awesome, I played everquest for years and had no idea about this lore!
Wow... this is top notch work; I'm envious!

I have waited a long, long time to get some EQ lore videos to listen to. Thank you!

Awesome!
Dude! This was epic.
very positive feeling overall, and excellent cinematography!
I hope you make more of these someday soon.
Amazing production. Well done.

That was awesome, thanks for doing this - looking forward to more. Do you take donations/tips/coffee funds?

Just watched all your videos. I need more LORE!!!
17:23 Is it still possible to go there? And if so, how does one get there?
Amazing, thank you for this!
I hope you still have another video in the works!
Do you ever plan to make more of these? We're a small audience, but I love the EQ lore.
How'd you make these animations? Really good stuff.

Would be cool to try and get the FV question in front of Kevin Mcpherson if he's ever on aLovingRobot's stream or something like that again.
These are cool. Good work, keep it up :)
Thank you very much. ❤
cool videos

Love the canon party models in the visual story
Still waiting on more of these
Wish there were more of these!
Amazing
ngl the 2 armies facing off is pretty badass
Will there ever be more EverQuest Lore videos?
awesome video ty
If only the players could have done in game quests to relive these adventures rather than only read in lore…
Need Moar!

This video teaches you how not to pronounce names
It's fee-ree-oh-na, dude, you're skipping an entire letter. Try harder.
